2 TheLegacyMuseum received this collection in It consists of masks, regalia and personal adornments, objects created by artists for their clients, objects that house spiritual beings used for divination, objects that are used for rites of passage. There are, also, objects that are made for personal pleasure and everyday use, such as the Ndebele doll and the Dogon iron lamp. alumna Lovette Harper collected these works over many decades. The collection comes from many different parts of Africa and reflects the enormity of the continent. It must be remembered that the continent of Africa is three times the size of the contiguous 48 states and Alaska. In other words, you can superimpose the 48 states plus Alaska over Africa three times and still have space remaining. There are many different peoples, customs, languages, and religions.
