Because of donors like you, we are celebrating a year of assisting more sisters than ever before through Ruby Fund grants, scholarships and educational programs. As you read through the pages of this annual report, know that your gifts made all of these achievements possible. I m both excited and honored to serve as your Foundation Board President. At International Convention 2015 in Los Angeles, we welcomed a new Board of Directors for this biennium. Our first initiative for the biennium is to update our strategic plan for the Foundation. With much of our fundraising focused on raising unrestricted funds, we will continue to emphasize the importance of giving to the Loyalty Fund. I m thankful to the 83 sisters who joined our 1897 Society as Charter Members, and hope to see even more sisters join us at this leadership level in Throughout the pages of this report, you will see the lives impacted through your support. For the fiscal year, 60 sisters were awarded Educational Scholarships, 31 sisters experienced Leadership Programs and 12 Ruby Fund requests were granted. I want to be the first to share with you that you will see some changes in this year s Donor Listing. In an effort to produce the Annual Report in a timely manner, the Foundation Board of Directors and I chose to move forward with the Donor Listing as First Name and Last Name only. The preferred first name and maiden name are not listed as in prior years. We recognize this is not ideal and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to have these inclusions moving forward. As we adventure toward this next biennium, we would like to offer our most sincere thanks and appreciation for your ongoing support. 5 Stepping the Right Direction through Loyalty Fund Giving Donating to the Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation isn t just writing a check. It s about continuing to connect with an organization that s provided genuine, rewarding experiences in your life. It s our vision to Secure the Future of Alpha Omicron Pi for sisters today, tomorrow and always. your gift allows us to do just that. You move us forward. Our work is never done. Your donation keeps us moving toward the future, developing new ways to continue to enhance the experiences of our members today and for generations to come. You give generously and together we make an impact. Gifts of all sizes support the sisterhood of AOII. When combined, even the smallest donations are able to make a huge impact. You help women in need. We all experience times of hardship. Your donations assist AOII sisters in dire need that are facing life-altering events. You create leaders. We believe educational and leadership support is crucial. Contributing to the AOII Foundation means playing a role in developing leaders and enabling them to achieve their educational dreams. Specifically, your gifts to the Loyalty Fund keep us Stepping in the Right Direction. Unrestricted gifts allow the Foundation Board the ability to direct funds where they re needed most. Emerging needs can immediately be addressed, leveraging significant opportunities for advancement and daily support of our sisters. Unrestricted contributions fund vital programs that touch the lives of sisters at every age: Educational and Leadership Grants: allow collegians and alumnae to experience life-changing leadership events and training to increase chapter and personal growth. The Ruby Fund: provides assistance to AOII sisters who are in dire need of short-term, emergency financial assistance because of illness, natural disasters, job loss, and other urgent life circumstances. Since 1946, the Ruby Fund has assisted over 300 sisters in need. Scholarship Programs: are available for AOII undergraduate, graduate, and returning alumnae members. These outstanding recipients consistently demonstrate leadership, academic excellence, campus and community involvement. Philanthropic Support: is given through grants to the Arthritis Foundation and other arthritis research related initiatives that believe in our mission of conquering arthritis once and for all. 8 9

10 Shelby Pelon monthly donor profile AOII has taught me many different lessons during my collegiate years and as an alumna, but one of the most important values I ve learned through AOII is the importance of being charitable. Alpha Omicron Pi calls on its members not only to give back to the community, but also to give back to our sisters, to our organization, and to ourselves. When I started donating to the AOII Foundation, I found that I was able to help my sisters as well as give back to an organization that has given so much to me and others. By donating just a couple dollars per month, I m able to help sisters in need, help sisters continue to grow, and give back to a cause that is very near and dear to my heart. I donate to the AOII Foundation monthly because it allows me to continue to build up our sisters and sisterhood, to help our philanthropy, and to live AOII ritual every day. Gifts to the Loyalty Fund allow the Foundation Board of Directors the ability to direct funding where it s needed most. Therefore, we are able to continue awarding Ruby Fund grants, scholarships, educational programming and arthritis research grants. Your gifts keep our branches strong! 16 The 1897 Society is a leadership giving society for members who donate $1,897 or more annually to the Loyalty Fund. The 1897 Society is in honor of the founding of Alpha Omicron Pi in As an 1897 Society member, you will receive recognition for your annual generosity and dedication to AOII. Other benefits include a special edition charm uniquely designed each year, invitations to special events, recognition at International Convention & Leadership Institute, and most importantly, the personal satisfaction of knowing your gifts are directly supporting future generations of AOII women. Erica Mohai 1897 society charter member I have volunteered for Alpha Omicron Pi on both the local and international levels for eight years. Working directly with collegiate chapters has provided me the opportunity to see how gifts to the AOII Foundation have impacted our Fraternity s collegians. The Loyalty Fund provides funding for leadership programs for collegiate women, and I have seen firsthand how impactful they can be. Additionally, through the Loyalty Fund, the AOII Foundation aided in the Fraternity s creation of our new online learning platform, Fulfilling the Promise. SCS members believe strongly in the mission, vision and values of the Fraternity and want to ensure its long-term stability.
