2 PURPOSE OF AB86 AB 86 provides planning funds to regional consortia to improve the delivery of adult education and to address existing gaps in programs and services. 2

3 MYTH VS. FACT Myth: Community Colleges will be taking over adult education and adult schools will be closed. Fact: AB 86 is about collaboration between the Community Colleges and Adult Schools. 3

7 DEFINITIONS Region: The geographical boundaries of a community college district Member: A public school district or community college district within the geographical boundaries of the CCD Partner: Determined by the local consortium s membership, i.e.: WIB s, EDD, CA Dept. of Rehab, etc. 7

Classes for Immigrants ESL, citizenship, and workforce preparation 3. Programs for Adults with Disabilities 4. Short Term CTE Programs Those with high employment potential 5. Programs for Apprentices 13
