For many companies databases are the backbone of mission critical systems and applications. Experiencing a database outage could cause significant impact to a company's workflow and potentially bring business to a standstill. Database administrators are always searching for new technologies to maintain database integrity and availability. Constructing such an environment in house can be costly and labor intensive. Net Access allows customers to leverage the company s 15+ years of system design, implementation, and management of database environments. By utilizing the latest technologies including NVME, flash arrays, and SSD drives, we can cater to the customer's requirements of performance, reliability, and scalability. With options for Active-Active, Active-Passive and Active- Lagged, users are provided with a wide range of deployment scenarios. All of our managed infrastructure solutions use an OPEX price model. This converts capital expenditure cost into a manageable monthly fee, providing easier budgeting due to a consistent spend. Without high upfront costs for additional hardware or additional staff, customers can enact upgrades and expansions quickly and easily. By reducing CAPEX for infrastructure, our clients can reinvest into what matters most: the core business.

Net Access Managed Services Solution Process Flow Consultation and Design Net Access Engineers will meet with the customer in a collaborative session to define the requirements and review the proposed solution. A dedicated engineer provides consultation and planning to ensure that the deployment of the solution meets the client s deadlines, expectations, and functionality. Net Access strives to ensure all customers are provided a service that is the right fit for them. Some environments are small and static and some environments are large and need to scale. Net Access engineers can design a solution based on a number of needs. Implementation Net Access will perform a cooperative test and turn up of the design, working with the customer to verify all components meet their requirements, expectations, and security concerns. A dedicated Managed Services Engineer is available during this process to make any necessary adjustments and ensure that the client is satisfied. Net Access will also work with third party integrators or vendors that will be involved in the deployment of the solution to simplify the process. Ongoing Management and Support Managed services are fully maintained by Net Access and monitored by our Network Operation Center 24/7/365. Ongoing support of hardware and software in the proposed solution is provided by Net Access and our technical staff. All of our solutions include proactive updates, hardware replacement, configuration assistance, and security auditing.

FLEX Services Solution Components The following FLEX Services are utilized in the solutions outlined in this document: FLEXSecurity Managed Firewall Dedicated next generation firewall with options for Remote Access, Site-to-Site VPN, and High Availability. Security features can include full UTM (unified threat management) - deep packet inspection intrusion detection, and advanced screening and filtering for URL, Web, , SPAM, and viruses. Available as a virtualized or hardware appliance. FLEXServer Rapidly deployed, securely hosted dedicated servers that can be connected to the Internet, other Net Access FLEX services or a client s existing network infrastructure to create a true hybrid solution. Net Access provides maintenance of the physical hardware, the supply of power, the network connectivity and provisions any purchased upgrades of the hardware. FLEXVirtualDC Our virtualized enterprise data center offering. Available as a dedicated or multi-tenant solution, FLEXVirtualDC allows clients to deploy, adjust and expand Virtual Machines (VM) on-demand using committed pool of compute, memory, storage and bandwidth resources via a self-service web portal. FLEXBackup Shared, dedicated or combined cloud backup and recovery solution that is securely hosted in a Net Access data center. FLEXBackup can be deployed as a complement to existing on-site office infrastructure, existing infrastructure within a Net Access data center or combined with any of our other FLEXServices. Advanced options include AES-256 encryption, deduplication, and numerous replication, restoration and recovery options. FLEXBridge Layer 2 connectivity inside the Net Access data center providing private 100meg, 1gig or 10gig connections between environments. This allow customers to split their workloads between virtualized cloud and bare metal, and have both on the same LAN behind a pair of firewalls in their cabinet.

Use Cases Active Failover Use Case Customer Profile: An inventory specialist firm wants to provide an additional layer of redundancy to their inventory application to reduce down time from hours to under a minute in the case of hardware failure of their production SQL server. Their application is currently hosted within their physical cabinet at the datacenter. The customer has asked for there to be two instances of SQL installed on the platform in order to provide both a staging and a production environment, while keeping the cost of SQL licensing down. Customer Requirements: Minimal downtime Must coexist with current network infrastructure Minimal licensing costs Proposed Solution Components: Net Access recommended solution included the following FLEX services: FLEXServer FLEXVirtualDC FLEXBackup FLEXBridge The proposal also included management by Net Access of all networking devices, storage units, and backups to improve compliance consistency by means of a single IT support staff. Solution Overview: Microsoft MS-SQL 2014 running on FLEXServer Premium with Server 2012 R2 Standard OS installed in an Active/Failover configuration. Net Access provided SQL licenses include the right of a failover database cluster without additional licensing costs. The FLEXServer Premium will be licensed with SQL Server 2014 Enterprise utilizing a RAID 10 SSD disk subsystem. FLEXVirtualDC will be providing a virtual machine to act as a witness server, while FLEXBackup will be providing a robust granular restore capability for the environment. All of this will be extended into the customer s current network fabric by use of FLEXBridge. In this configuration MS-SQL is configured in a single site with an active and a passive node without any shared disk infrastructure. Using Microsoft failover clustering technology if the currently active SQL node goes off line, the secondary unit will take over the VIP (Virtual IP) of the cluster and start serving requests with no loss of data as the database is in a synchronous commit state between the two nodes. Once the failed server is restored to service the system will automatically bring the database current from the currently active system.

7 Page 6 Active-Active Use Case Customer Profile: In order to reduce down time and increase application performance, an industrial monitoring firm wants to provide an additional layer of redundancy and performance to their custom monitoring application. The application is currently hosted in their physical cabinet in a Net Access data center. The customer has expressed a concern that often times the SQL server backup process overloads their current infrastructure of their product during backup windows. Customer Requirements: Minimal downtime Increased performance, especially during backup window Must coexist with current network infrastructure Proposed Solution Components: Net Access recommended solution included the following FLEX services: FLEXServer FLEXVirtualDC FLEXBackup FLEXBridge The proposal also included management by Net Access of all networking devices, storage units, and backups to improve compliance consistency by means of a single IT support staff. Solution Overview: Microsoft MS-SQL 2014 running on FLEXServer Premium with Server 2012 R2 Standard OS installed in an Active/Active configuration. Due to the fact SQL is being used in an active configuration both servers require SQL licenses. The FLEXServer will be licensed with SQL Server 2014 Enterprise utilizing a RAID 10 SSD disk subsystem. FLEXVirtualDC will be providing a virtual machine to act as a Witness server, while FLEXBackup will be providing a robust granular restore capability for the environment. All of this will be extended into ECW s current network fabric by use of FLEXBridge. In this configuration MS-SQL is configured in an Active-Active synchronous replication state. Both servers will respond to SQL database connection requests, as the application has been updated by their programmers to connect to support multiple connections to the databases. With this configuration during a backup window the database backup is only performed on one of the nodes leaving the other node free to perform any requested data transactions.

8 Page 7 Active-Lagged Copy Use Case Customer Profile: A Human Resources firm wants to use MS-SQL with a lagged copy database to reduce restore times in case of database corruption during product development. By leveraging the lagged copy feature, the standby database is held at a specified point in time behind the primary database. If the primary database becomes corrupted the lagged copy can be brought online prior to the introduction of the data corruption as long as the corruption point is before the current commit time of the lagged database. Customer Requirements: Minimal downtime Increased restore time Must coexist with current network infrastructure Proposed Solution Components: Net Access recommended solution included the following FLEX services: FLEXServer FLEXVirtualDC FLEXBackup FLEXBridge The proposal also included management by Net Access of all networking devices, storage units, and backups to improve compliance consistency by means of a single IT support staff. Solution Overview: Microsoft MS-SQL 2014 running on FLEXServer Premium with Server 2012 R2 Standard OS installed in an Active/Failover configuration. In this configuration MS-SQL is configured in an Active-Lagged Replication configuration with a 4 hour lagged database. The secondary server only commits the data to the database after 4 hours of receiving the data from the primary. This enables the customer to restore the databases to a pristine state faster since the lagged copy has nearly the complete dataset without the corruption event.
