1 The Member of Group, Elsan Hammadde Sanayii A.S was established in Istanbul in 1969 as a foundry where brass casting had been made. In 1971, ELSAN had started the production of brass rods. Elsan has increased the capacity by adding continuous casting lines in Elsan activated its new facility in Industrial Organized Zone in Manisa in 1990 by focusing on process of automation. ELSAN, has kept its investments on developments, activated the second continuous casting lines, which is computerized, in order to increase the capacity of it in In 2000, started the production of polishing quality Brass Ingots Casting and investments on improvements still continues. In the first half of 2013 with a capacity of 1800 Tons indirect extrusion press with the efficiency and quality of investment also increased. ELSAN considers to increasing the productivity while continue to investments about improvement and automation.,0

As the Directive of REACH, ELSAN has completed pre-registration for copper, zinc, lead, and aluminum materials through the Reach Global Services (RGS) that is the only representative. ELSAN makes use of REACH registration of their suppliers for zinc, lead and aluminums. With this registration, our customers from EU countries, are able complete their exporting without any extra procedures in that rule of action. Furthermore ELSAN has the declaration of compliance of EU RoHS.

5 LOW LEADED BRASS ELSAN has completed the studies on the improvements in production of brass with low leaden in 2009 and had done the applications for the international patent. The lead, is used in brass drinking water pipelines, has got known toxic effects and blends into the drinking water therefore it threats the human health and the nature. The increasing problems about the nature, consumers becoming more conscious, producers focusing on environment friendly programs in production, and legislations affected the brass industry and because all of these reasons Unleaded / low leaded brass which quickly has become the increasing value in this industry. Because the ELSAN is so sensitive about this topic, has developed a Research and Development project for the production of low leaded brass. This project has been run by University-Manufacturer cooperation supported by TUBITAK. Within this project, TAREL Teknolojik Arastirma Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S and VALFSEL Armatur Sanayi A.S those are sister company took a position as partners. In this projects University helped by literally and by letting the labs to be used; on the other hand the ideas and the theories has been put into existence in the facilities of the producer and the success of the composition, which is developed in the labs of the University, has been proved. As a result of those studies, at the end of 2009, Elsan has introduced the low leaded brass rods and ingots to the consumers.

6 LABORATORY ELSAN accomplishes the required tests for the customers special demands with delicately. 7 MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS Quality is the most important priority for ELSAN, therefore first in 1997, ELSAN qualified to receive the ISO 9002 Quality Assurance systems certificate; in February of 2003 EN ISO 9001:2001 Quality Management Systems from TSE. In March of 2009 ELSAN has been checked by TSE triple control systems and qualified to have EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems Certificate, EN ISO Environmental Management System Certificate, and OHSAS certificate from TSE.

8 ENVIRONMENT ELSAN has made a principle to keep the environment during the functions in its facilities. With the filtration system the release of dangerous emissions to the nature would be stopped. The system was established in 1992 and it was built up in At the same time, some dangerous wastes are recovered and used in some other industrial sector as raw materials; wasted heat is used over again so the energy savings come into existence. ELSAN has License of Emission Permit and Nonhygienic Installations License since In order to recycle the metal chips contaminated with oil, ELSAN applied for the license of dangerous wastes recycling and qualified to have the License of Recycling Plant in 2008 from Ministry of Environment and Forestry. ELSAN were implemented ISO Environmental Management Systems thereby it were identified all the environmental aspects and their environmental impacts arising from their activities. Especially about "Waste Management" in the examples shown in its sector ELSAN, made Regular Waste Warehousing in accordance with legal regulations. All types of waste being collected and stored separately in there, after these wastes are submitted licensed disposal or recycling facilities.
