Transfer a call without talking to the transfer recipient Talk to the transfer recipient before transferring the call Transfer two current calls to each other (direct transfer) Press to switch to Trnsfer, press it, and enter the target phone number. When you hear the call ringing, press Trnsfer again to complete the transfer. Press to switch to Trnsfer, press it, and enter the target phone number. If the recipient accepts the call, press Trnsfer again to complete the transfer. If the recipient refuses the call, press Resume to return to the original call. Scroll to highlight any call on the line and press Select. Repeat for the second call. With one selected call highlighted, press to switch to DirTrfr and press it. The two calls connect to each other and drop you from the call. To remain on the call and create a conference, use Join

Making Conference Calls Basic Call Handling Conference calling allows three or more parties to participate simultaneously in a call. Your Cisco IP Phone supports several types of conference calls depending on your configuration. Check with your system administrator to determine what is enabled on your phone. The following conference softkeys might be available on your phone: Confrn Use to establish conferences by calling each participant individually. Conferencing is available on most phones. Join Use to establish a conference among several current calls on a single line. cbarge Use to begin a conference call on a shared line. This optional feature is available only for shared lines. Meet-Me Use to host a conference requiring that participants call an established number at a specific time. Your system administrator must configure this special feature for you. See Starting or Joining a Meet-Me Conference Call section on page 40 for more information. Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 37

Starting a Standard Conference Call If you want to... Start a conference call by calling participants Invite current callers to join a standard conference cbarge (add yourself to) a call on a shared line and turn the call into a conference Call the first participant. To add another party to the call, press Confrn (press to find softkey) and enter the next participant s phone number. After the call connects and you have spoken to the participant, press Confrn again to add the party to your conference call. Follow this procedure to add each participant to the conference call. With two calls on a single line, scroll to highlight the inactive call on the line and press Select. From the selected calls, press Join (press to find Join). Note that the active call is selected and added to the conference automatically. Highlight a remote-in-use call on a shared line and press cbarge (press to find cbarge). Other parties on the call will hear a barge tone. See the Using a Shared Line section on page 45 for details

Basic Call Handling If you want to... View a list of conference participants Get an updated list of conference participants Remove any conference participant Drop the last participant added to the conference End a standard conference call Highlight an active conference, and press ConfList. Participants are listed in the order in which they join the conference with the most recent additions at the top. While viewing the conference list, press Update. While viewing the conference list, scroll to the participant s name and press Remove. You can remove participants only if you started the conference call. During a conference call, press to switch to RmLstC and press the softkey. You can remove participants only if you started the conference call. Choose EndCall or to end the conference call. Tip The system supports from three to sixteen participants in a standard conference call, but the number of parties that you can add is set by your system administrator. Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 39

Starting or Joining a Meet-Me Conference Call Meet-Me conferencing allows participants to join a conference by calling the conference number directly, rather than waiting for the conference initiator to call them. If you want to... Start a Meet-Me conference Join a Meet-Me conference call Leave a Meet-Me conference call Press to switch to MeetMe. Press MeetMe and dial the Meet-Me conference number. See your system administrator for list of valid numbers. Inform participants about the conference number, so they can dial in. However, participants hear busy tone if they call the conference number before you have dialed in. Dial the Meet-Me conference number provided by the Meet-Me conference initiator. You can join the conference only after the initiator has dialed in. Choose EndCall or. The Meet-Me conference continues as long as two or more participants remain

Basic Call Handling Forwarding Your Calls to Another Number You can use Call Forward All to redirect your incoming calls from your Cisco IP Phone to another number. Tip Enter the Call Forward All target number exactly as you would dial it from your desk phone. For example, enter an access code such as 9 or the area code, if necessary. If you want to... Set up call forwarding on your primary line Press to switch to CFwdAll. Press CFwdAll and enter a target extension or phone number. The screen displays Forwarded to <target number>. Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 41

If you want to... Cancel call forwarding on your primary line Set up or cancel call forwarding for any line Press CFwdAll. The Forwarded to <number> message disappears. Log in to your Cisco CallManager IP Phone User Options web page and choose your Cisco 7920 device. Choose Forward all calls... from the menu. You can set up or cancel call forwarding for each line on your phone. Refer to Customizing Your Cisco IP Phone on the Web for more information. Tips You can forward your calls to any telephone number, although your system administrator might restrict the call forwarding feature to numbers within your company. You can cancel call forwarding from your phone, even if you set it on your Cisco CallManager User Options web page. For more information, see the Logging In to the User Options Web Pages section on page 76. You must configure call forwarding for each line on your phone

Advanced Call Handling CHAPTER 4 Advanced call-handling tasks require access to special features. Your system administrator might configure these features for your phone depending on your call-handling needs and work environment. Parking and Retrieving Parked Calls You can park a call when you want to store the call so that you or someone else can retrieve it from another phone in the Cisco CallManager system (for example, a phone at a co-worker s desk or in a conference room). Call Park is a feature that your system administrator must enable for you. If you want to... Store an active call by using Call Park During a call, press to switch to Park and press it. The system stores the call. The phone screen displays the special call park number at which the call is stored. Make a note of the call park number. Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 43

If you want to... Retrieve a parked call Enter the call park number from any phone in the Cisco CallManager system to connect to the call. Tip You have a limited amount of time to retrieve the parked call before it reverts to ringing at its original destination. See your system administrator for this time limit. Picking Up a Redirected Call on Your Phone Your system administrator might enable Call PickUp for your phone if you share call-handling with co-workers. Call PickUp allows you to answer a call that is ringing on a co-worker s phone by redirecting the call to your phone. You can use Call PickUp features to handle calls for co-workers who are in your call pickup group (PickUp) or who are in another pickup group (GPickUp)

Advanced Call Handling If you want to... Answer a call that is ringing on another extension within your call pickup group Answer a call that is ringing on an extension outside of your group Press to switch to PickUp; then press PickUp and the call will ring on your phone. Press Answer to connect to the call. Press to switch to GPickUp; then press GPickUp and dial the call group pickup code. The call will ring on your phone. Press Answer to connect to the call. Tips Obtain the call group pickup code from your system administrator. When you press PickUp or GPickUp, you connect to the call that has been ringing for the longest time. Using a Shared Line Your system administrator might give you a shared line. Shared-line features do not apply to standard, unshared lines. Typically, a shared line has two main uses: One person applies a shared line to multiple phones For example, your shared line, 23456, applies to your wireless IP phone and to your Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 45

office desktop phone. An incoming call to rings on your desk and on your wireless IP phone, and you can use either phone to answer the call. Multiple people share a line For example, you are a manager who shares a line and extension number with your assistant. An incoming call to the extension rings on both of the phones. If you have a shared line, you might see the in-use-remote message on your phone screen indicating that a co-worker is currently using the shared line. You can place and receive calls as usual on a shared line, even when the remote-in-use message displays. Maximum Supported Calls on a Shared Line The maximum number of calls that a shared line supports can vary by phone model. For example, your Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 supports a maximum of two calls on a shared line while your co-worker s Cisco IP Phone 7960 can support four calls on the same line. If there are two calls on the line, the NewCall softkey is unavailable to you but is available to your co-worker

Advanced Call Handling Sharing Call Information and Barging Your phone screen displays information about calls that your co-worker places and receives on the shared line. This information might include caller ID and call duration. Also, when you are using a shared line, information about your call is displayed on the co-worker s phone screen. When call information is visible on the phone screen, you and co-workers can add yourselves to calls on the shared line by using the barging features. Barge Allows you to join a shared-line call with an IP phone model that has the built-in bridge enabled. You cannot use Barge to enter a shared-line call with another Cisco Wireless IP Phone cbarge Allows you to join a shared-line call with any IP phone model and convert the call to a conference. Privacy If you do not want co-workers who share your line to see information about your calls, enable the Privacy feature. Also Privacy prevents co-workers from barging your calls. See the Preventing Others from Viewing or Joining a Shared-Line Call section on page 49. If you want to... See if a co-worker has an active call on the shared line Look at the phone screen to see if In Use Remote appears on the status line and the calling party ID appears next to the line number. Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 47

If you want to... Add yourself to call on a shared line by using Barge Add yourself to a call on a shared line by using cbarge Move a shared-line call to another phone with the shared line Select an in-use-remote call on your screen and press Barge. The shared-line user hears a tone and To Barge displays on the screen. You can only join a call that a Cisco IP Phone (with Barge enabled) initiates. Select an in-use-remote call on your screen and press cbarge. Other parties hear a tone and brief audio interruption, and call information changes on the phone screen. cbarge converts the call into a conference so you can add new participants to the conference call. See the Making Conference Calls section on page 37 for more information. When you hang up, the call remains as a conference call provided at least three participants stay on the line. Press Hold. On another phone with the shared line, press Resume

Advanced Call Handling Tips Barge and cbarge softkeys are not available for private calls. You will be disconnected from a call that you have joined using Barge if the call is put on hold, transferred, or turned into a conference call. Preventing Others from Viewing or Joining a Shared-Line Call If you have a shared line, you can enable the Privacy feature to prevent others who share this line from viewing or joining your calls on this line. If you want to... Prevent others from viewing or joining your shared-line calls Allow others to view or join your calls on a shared line Press Private. When Privacy is enabled, the privacy-on icon displays next to your phone number on the phone screen. Press Private. When Privacy is disabled, the privacy-off icon displays next to your phone number on the phone screen. Tips If you have Privacy enabled on a shared line and make a call, in use remote does not display on other phones that share the line; there is no indication when the line is in use. Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 49

If all other phones that share the same line have Privacy enabled, you can still make new calls using the shared line. However, you cannot join any in-progress calls using the shared line. Tracing Suspicious Calls If you are receiving suspicious or malicious calls, your system administrator can add the Malicious Call Identification (MCID) feature to your phone. This feature enables you to identify an active call as suspicious, which initiates a series of automated tracking and notification messages. If you want to... Identify a suspicious call Press MCID. If the MCID request is successful, you will hear a special tone and see the message, MCID successful on your phone. The call remains active until you end the call. Prioritizing Critical Calls In some specialized environments, such as military or government offices, you might need to make and receive urgent or critical calls. These critical calls might require higher priority handling, such as being able to bypass other calls. If you require specialized

Advanced Call Handling call-handling capability, your system administrator can add Multilevel Precedence and Preemption (MLPP) to your phone. Keep these terms in mind: Precedence indicates the priority associated with a call. Preemption is the process of ending an existing, lower priority call while accepting a higher priority call that is sent to your phone. If you want to... Choose a priority (precedence) level for an outgoing call Make a priority (precedence) call Receive a priority (precedence) call Contact your system administrator for a list of corresponding precedence numbers for calls (ranging from low to highest). Enter the MLPP access number (which is provided by your system administrator) followed by the phone number. Hear the special call waiting tone and note the special icon displayed for the incoming call. Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 51
