2 Ewald Consulting Professional Development Department In recent years, rapid changes in technology, workforce and the economy have influenced the way that individuals and organizations think about membership and engagement in their association. Associations need to evolve and grow to address the changing professional development and training needs of a diverse workforce. Ewald Consulting has made a strategic decision to establish a Professional Development Department separate from our Conferences Department. To ensure the success of the department, we partnered with Julie Berg, MA, ACC, President of HRD Consulting, to work with our team to develop a vision, create measurable goals, a department model, and job descriptions. Julie is a professional development consultant with more than 20 years of experience across industries including healthcare, education, business services, engineering, manufacturing, technology, and non-profits. As an internal consultant, she was responsible for leadership assessment and development, team coaching, training design and facilitation. Julie also managed a corporate training function. Learning happens in many ways classroom, webinars, formal, informal, social, mentorship programs, online communities. With changing demographics and with Millennials and Generation Vision Ewald Consulting Professional Development provides an innovative, lifelong learning path for professionals to gain confidence and expertise in their career. Z entering the workforce, it has never been more important to deliver learning experiences that create outcomes and impact performance. The Professional Development Department will enable the delivery of educational content based on adult learning principles, learning styles, brain science, accelerated methodologies and blended learning. From in-depth programs to micro learning, the Ewald Consulting Professional Development Department provides expertise and solutions specific to association programs that are designed for continuing education, certification and workforce learning and performance. With a focus on innovative delivery methods, our team works with subject-matter experts to leverage analysis, design, assessment, implementation and evaluation to help your association serve as the preferred source of professional development in your industry.

3 Certification & Continuing Education Programs Ewald Consulting manages nine certification programs. Twelve of our clients offer continuing education credits and issue certificates on their websites. All of our clients provide professional development for members and non-members through monthly programs, webinars and conferences. American College of Legal Medicine CME Provider Association of Business Process Professionals International Association of Image Consultants International Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (launching in Autumn 2015) Association of Staff Physician Recruiters Incentive Marketing Association Minnesota Association of School Business Officials Minnesota Utility Contractors Association Recognition Professionals International IACET authorized provider There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning. Jiddu Krishnamurti Featured Client Success Stories Recognition Professionals International Recognition Professionals International (RPI) IACET Authorized Provider RPI became an IACET Authorized Provider in 2008 and was recertified in professionals are Certified Recognition Professionals (CRP). There are four levels to certification. CRP I is an online course and CRP II, III, IV are presented in person. Recognition Fundamentals is a two-hour introduction course providing professional knowledge on recognition and to encourage certification. RPI is currently researching integration of CRP levels I-IV into a Learning Management System (LMS). The organization is working with David Cherrington, Brigham Young University, to update course content with job analysis based on a survey of recognition professionals and assessing their body of knowledge. The CRP program is delivered at conferences as well as at member-hosted onsite programs through the year. CRP graduates are required to recertify every three years with proof of qualified continuing education. Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR) Fellowship Program ASPR launched its Fellowship Designation program in There are three levels to fellowship: Associate, Diplomat and Fellow. All are offered online and at the ASPR annual conference. 200 members have attained Fellow Status. Fellows must recertify every three years with appropriate education.

4 ASPR Fellowship Communication Plan Prompt User to Take Exam: An is sent to course attendees to remind them to sign up for the exam during their free 12-month window. Frequency: quarterly, and monthly in final three months. Prompt Test Registrants to Complete Exam: An is sent to anyone who has signed up for an exam but who has not completed it yet. Frequency: quarterly, monthly in final three months. Prompt Designees to Take Next Level of Fellowship: An is sent to those who haven t started to take 101; those who have attained the AASPR are encouraged to take the 201 exam; those who have attained the DASPR are prompted to sign up for conference or on-demand next step and complete the FASPR. Frequency: quarterly, as well as right before conference. On-Demand Webinar Reminders: An goes to anyone signed up for an on-demand webinar to complete the course before the 120-day window expires. Frequency: monthly until expiration date. On-Demand Webinar Evaluations: Participants receive an prompting them to complete the survey. Sent at expiration (120 days). FASPR Recertification s: s are sent to remind those up for FASPR recertification that the deadline is approaching, along with a recap of requirements to recertify. Frequency: 1 year, 6 months, 3 months, 1 month before expiration. Webinars Ewald Consulting has been offering webinars using Adobe Connect Pro since We average 130 live webinars per year in addition to pre-recorded sessions. All webinars are archived for on-demand usage.

5 Learning Management System Mentorship YourMembership.com (YM) is the website platform that Ewald Consulting uses for its clients. YM recently acquired Digital Ignite LMS, which will be integrated within the YM platform. The Professional Development Department will utilize this new LMS for our own company as well as create a model for our clients. LMS Features Learner Dashboard Peer Connect Knowledge Base Dynamic Learning Item Catalog Standards-compliant (AICC, SCORM) CEU Tracking On-Demand Reporting While many associations have traditional mentorship programs, Ewald Consulting is pilot-testing a group mentoring model with the Minnesota Chiropractors Association (MCA). The MCA Mentoring Network is a six-month program to provide MCA student members an opportunity to connect with experienced MCA members in a group, social and collaborative environment. With a focus on group mentoring, members will learn from each other, in person and online. While most activity will be in a group setting, mentors agree to be contacted one on one as well. In addition to in-person meetings, there will be a Mentoring Network Online Forum Discussion Group, File Sharing, Network Directory and Blog. As a part of our ongoing commitment to professional development for our own staff, Ewald Consulting offers internal training, webinars and support for programs and certifications in each area of staff expertise (e.g. Certified Association Executive, Certified Meeting Planner). we are currently developing the Ewald Leadership Academy. Launching in Fall 2015, this will be a sixmonth blended learning program for all of our staff to develop leadership skills in association management, volunteer engagement, facilitation, team building and developing a career path. Two focus areas that we are enhancing and formalizing include a Staff Onboarding Program to ensure that our staff members are properly trained in their positions as well as in association management, company operations and procedures. In addition, We will use the Digital Ignite LMS to integrate our staff professional development, onboarding and leadership academy. This will improve our company and be used as a model for our client associations as well.

6 Professional Development Department Professionals: Vice President, Professional Development Kathie Pugaczewski, CAE, CMP Director of Learning & Performance Jessica Truhler Provide leadership and direction for the Professional Development department based upon company priorities and objectives. Establish department goals, new product/service development and marketing strategy. Manage, and ensure execution of complex projects for client learning and professional development initiatives. Develop and manage the department budget; manage project plans to meet program implementation milestones; ensure deliverables are met by staff and projects come in on budget. Plan and set direction to establish accountability for goals. Cultivate relationships with new and existing clients and vendors to secure ongoing partnerships. Develop business plans and proposals for PD services. Evaluate needs of company and plan training programs accordingly. Lead and implement staff training program for Ewald employee-based PD work for clients including onboarding, mentoring and leadership development. Develop Ewald Consulting s world class Professional Development Center including development of courses with internal and external resources. Oversee new systems and processes, assess needs, determine scope, and utilize resources effectively. Develop and implement Conference Center strategy and business plan. Work with Conference Center Marketing team to implement marketing plan. Consult and collaborate with client association leaders and members to assess training needs, determine training development strategies, and propose learning solutions in a variety of formats. Coach subject matter experts to deliver professional development programs based on best practice and trends in adult learning theory, learning styles, brain science, accelerated methodologies and blended learning. Develop and implement models and templates for needs assessments, workshop design & development and learning assessments that deliver effective lifelong learning and workforce development opportunities for specific professions. Assess scope of training needs across all Ewald clients for new product, process and system rollouts, creating and managing project plans for development, delivery and evaluation. Apply knowledge of best practices and trends in the training industry including adult learning theory, learning styles, and brain science approaches. Apply knowledge of instructional design methods in an adult learning environment. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of professional development strategies and effect changes required for improvement. Work in Learning Management System (LMS) for clients that choose this option.

7 Professional Development Department Professionals: Director of Professional Development Technology Joe Flannigan Director of Certification & Data Strategy Jessica Gill In conjunction with the Vice President of Professional Development and the Director of Learning and Performance, develop multimedia strategy to deliver effective and innovative professional development offerings for clients and Ewald Consulting. Oversee the implementation of distance learning (webinars, online learning, training videos, etc.). Research, recommend, and develop new initiatives related to using new media and communication channels to further the development of staff and members. Provide training to PD staff and volunteers on new PD tools and technology. Work with Director of Learning and Performance and association leaders to develop online offerings and curricula. Work with department staff to coordinate testing of online education production and platforms including websites and LMS. Additional responsibilities include editorial assistance for online course content including storyboards, performance support tools, audio, video and graphic design. Design and produce learning materials in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video and multimedia to support communication. Lead and oversee video production and develop a business model to create this as an additional offering for clients as well as integral part of professional development. Serve as SME to department staff to effectively use technology tools. Graphic design including development of infographics to enhance training tools. Oversee all client certification programs, processes, reporting and marketing. Administer webinars and create operations plans. Manage client certification programs in LMS and other methods. Work with Director of Learning and Performance to develop online learning communities, social learning, collaborative, informal and learner-driven professional development. Manage participant registration system and standard communications re: registration, prework/pre-assessment, follow-up support for CEs and certification programs. Work with Director of Learning and Performance to develop client dashboard, evaluations and budget/p & L processes for webinar and certification client programs. Work with Vice President of Professional Development and Director of Learning and Performance on client data, marketing, social media strategy and partnerships.

8 Professional Development Department Professionals: Professional Development Operations Manager Katherine Ricker Schedule facilities for client professional development in consultation with the appropriate decision makers and stakeholders, including site selection and meeting planning activities. Coordinate the logistics for all in-person professional development programs including scheduling space, physical preparation of materials, catering, and room setup/take-down. Provide logistical support for in-person PD programs and processes. Select venue for training and other events, as needed. Manage site contracts and serve as liaison with site contact. Conduct client CE credit application process for all clients. Coordinate flex staff schedules for PD and events. Coordinate name badge preparation and fulfillment for all client PD programs. Work with Director of Learning and Performance to develop client dashboard, evaluations and budget/p & L processes for in-person client program. Manage Conference Center operations including space bookings, contracts, food orders, and parttime support coordination.
