Provide policy guidance, priorities and leadership for the department s research, population projections, data reporting, performance tracking and program evaluation efforts. Recommend changes in policies, programs, treatments and management practices as a result of research outcomes and findings. Interpret research and evaluation results to CDCR executives, managers, Legislators and other policymakers. Ensure that all CDCR internal and external research findings are disseminated to the appropriate managerial and operational staff, and that findings are applied in policy and practice.

Provide research, data and policy support for control agencies, the Courts, the Legislature and the Governor s Office in the area of Corrections. Collaborate with adult criminal and juvenile justice researchers, practitioners, departmental administrators and policymakers on research innovations, designs and outcomes. Serve as the CDCR executive liaison to national and state correctional research organizations. Programming and Technical Assistance Director, Office of Program Accountability, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (August 2006 to November 2006). Direct and supervise the activities of the Programming and Technical Assistance Unit (PTA) of the Office of Program Accountability. Develop an annual workplan and budget. Develop plans and materials for training 12 PTA staff and 35 Quality Assurance staff. Develop policy manuals and procedures to guide staff in provision of technical assistance on-site. Participate in or take lead responsibility for Mobile Intervention Teams. Conduct site visits at programs that fail to meet minimum standards, make recommendations for elimination of the program, corrective action, or re-alignment of the program. Work with program staff to develop corrective action plans and implementation plans featuring evidence-based programming and best practices, including potential costs. Department Evidence-Based Practices Coordinator. Monitor the state of the art of delinquency treatment, program management and apply this knowledge to department practices. Provide leadership for the Evidence-Based Treatment Initiative, which seeks to introduce and implement evidence-based treatments and practices within each branch, and an evidence-based comprehensive case management system benefiting the entire Department. Coordinate the leadership of efforts to design and implement pilot projects, evaluation and research projects to improve effectiveness of delinquency treatment and prevention programs in all branches of the Department and its contracted providers. Demonstration and research project funded by a federal grant administered by the Office of Child Support Enforcement ($282,000). Researched the effects of mandatory mediation of child access agreements on compliance with child support, rates of relitigation, time from filing to final judgment, and continuing child access difficulties and generated the final report for the Office of Child Support Enforcement, HHS, Washington, DC.
