2 Mission Statement: College of Marin's commitment to educational excellence is rooted in our mission to provide excellent educational opportunities for all members of our diverse community by offering: preparation for transfer to four-year schools and universities; workforce education; basic skills improvement/english as a Second Language; intellectual and physical development and lifelong learning; and cultural enrichment The College of Marin is committed to responding to community needs by offering studentcentered programs and services in a supportive, innovative learning environment with a strong foundation of sustainability, which will instill environmental sensitivity in our students. History: College of Marin is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is one of 112 public community colleges in California. Approximately 12,000 credit and noncredit students enroll annually. Known for its academic excellence, accessibility, and affordability, College of Marin is the place where generations of Marin residents have started their higher education. Many of the best paying careers today require a college degree. College of Marin offers courses that satisfy the lower division requirements for transfer as a junior to the College of California, California State University System, private universities, and out-of-state universities. Many thousands of College of Marin students have transferred to universities and earned baccalaureate and higher degrees. Students earning the first two-years of their baccalaureate at College of Marin save tens of thousands of dollars on the cost of their higher education. Thousands of our esteemed alumni have been successful in transferring to UC Berkeley and other prestigious schools. Background: The College of Marin is seeking a partnership to collaborate in creating a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. This partnership can be with any 4 year degree granting institution in good standing with a regional accrediting agencies recognized by the US Department of Education or one of the 6 regionally accrediting agencies. This includes both private and public 4 year colleges/universities. Goals to be shown in evidence in qualifications: The following are the key features for the RFQ for the College of Marin Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program:

3 University / College will present evidence of an existing Bachelor of Science in Nursing, concurrent collaborative, that University / College has previously implemented in a California Community College. University / College will be prepared to fully implement program summer 2016 at College of Marin (COM) University / College will have Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation or other nationally recognized and COM acceptable nursing program accreditation COM students will be admitted to University / College concurrent with admission to COM Registered Nursing Program, subject to University / College / COM admissions criteria Courses will have the delivery capability to be taught by University / College, online and University / College will have an optional University / College Center for teaching courses University / College will have an have online nursing program for a Master s Degree in Nursing Program University / College will provide dedicated project management and matriculation management staff to facilitate successful implementation of program at COM University / College will assign an Academic Counselor to COM student at point of entry into the University / College program University / College will assign a Financial Aid Counselor to COM student at point of entry into the University / College program University / College will provide program orientation to COM and all incoming student cohorts University / College will provide COM student cohorts a tuition reduction for duration of program University / College will offer a 30 unit (approximate) Associate Degree in Nursing to Bachelor s Degree in Nursing Program to COM students, subject to an agreed upon matriculation between University / College and COM University / College program will provide for the California Public Health Nurse Certification University / College courses in the nursing program will approximate five to seven weeks in length for each course

4 University / College nursing program for COM cohorts will initiate the summer before students start the COM RN Program and will include additional coursework each summer with additional upper division, general elective units taught in selected fall and spring semesters of the COM / RN program University / College will provide COM with multiple track options (e.g., 1 st year vs. 2 nd year students) for students with discussions on a possible third track option for prior COM nursing graduates Response Format: All educational entities responding to the request for qualifications must submit at a minimum 3 hard copies of, a Statement of Qualifications that should include: General information about firm Information that relates specifically to the goals listed earlier in this proposal to identify any costs, discounts, clients, references with phone numbers and program highlights similar to the program being proposed Narrative statement on the experience of team to include all faculty, staff or managers involved in the process. All RFQ proposals should be submitted to Vice President for Finance & College Operations no later than 4pm April 30, 2015 at the following address: College of Marin Attn: Greg Nelson Vice President for Finance & College Operations Building Ignacio Blvd. Novato, CA Note: UPS DOES NOT DELIVER TO THIS ADDRESS Selection Process: A selection committee will be appointed and they will review the Statements of Qualifications. It is anticipated that the initial review will require approximately one week. If more than 2 universities or colleges submit proposals an interview process will be scheduled and is expected to add one week to the selection process.

5 It is anticipated that upon selection of a University / College for this program and successful negotiation of a contract that said contract will be voted on by the Marin Community College District Board of Trustees at its May 20, 2015 board meeting.
