1 ANAHEIM DUCKS INLINE SCHOLASTIC LEAGUE RULES AND PROCEDURES As of September 13, 2015 I. DEFINITIONS ADISL AAU Commissioner League Coordinator League League Game League Year Member Team Playoff Game Regular Season Game Team Official Traditional Students The Anaheim Ducks Inline Scholastic League. Amateur Athletic Union of the United States. Individual designated to oversee the daily administration of the League and League activities. This position will also be a member of the League disciplinary board. Appointed Rinks employee that shall oversee ADISL Game Days. The Anaheim Ducks Inline Scholastic League. Any Varsity or Junior Varsity Regular Season Game or Playoff Game. August 1 through July 31, encompassing one complete League Season. Any team, including any Varsity and Junior Varsity team, which has been accepted as a Member of the League pursuant to the procedures set forth herein. Any one or more of the games played as part of the League playoff schedule, as such schedule is established from time to time. Any one or more of the games played as part of the League's regular season schedule. Any person serving as a coach, manager, team representative or other official capacity assisting on or off the Players' Bench during a League Game pursuant to Penalties/Misconducts herein for a Member Team. Student playing on team representing school he or she attends. II. TEAM ELIGIBILITY PARAMETERS A. Team Eligibility 1. Any team representing a California High School, public or private, is eligible to enter a High School Roller Hockey team in one or more divisions. 2. Schools or districts wishing to join the League must submit a School Team Registration Form and a Team Nomination Form. 3. The League shall decide whether to admit the applicant based on a number of factors, including availability of rink time. 4. Meeting the requirements set forth in the request does not guarantee admittance into the League. However, any teams meeting such qualifications but not admitted to the

2 League at that time will be admitted if a Member Team drops out in the order in which qualified applications were received. B. Combo Teams 1. The Combo program is for those student-athletes who want to play high school roller hockey, but have no team to join due to: a) Having an insufficient number of players to form a team at their own school; b) Being home schooled or enrolled in other non- traditional high school programs; c) Being released from a "pure" team (all players from same high school). 2. Combo players register individually and teams are put together by League officials with consideration given to same high school or school district, geographic location, and ability. III. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY PARAMETERS A. Traditional Students Eligibility Criteria 1. Students must be enrolled in grades 9-12 and currently attending school full-time to be eligible. Full-time attendance shall mean a student is taking at least four classes at his or her school. 2. Any player turning nineteen (19) prior to September 1 for the upcoming season is not eligible to participate for that season, even if still enrolled in high school classes. Except for Goalies, all players must be at least fourteen (14) years of age as of September 1 for the upcoming season. 3. Any player who qualifies for early graduation will remain eligible as long as the player in question began the season enrolled in the high school for which he or she is eligible to compete. If and when an early graduate should enroll in a college or university, his/her eligibility to participate in sanctioned high school hockey play shall terminate when he/she begins taking classes on a full- or part-time basis. 4. A player should be a student in good standing at his or her school according to the academic pass/play rules for his or her school. Any player that is not academically eligible according to his or her school should not be allowed to play in any regular season or post-season games until such time as he or she becomes academically eligible according to their respective school. All member teams are strongly encouraged to abide by the following rules: a) Each team should obtain a copy of their respective school s academic eligibility rules. If there are none, CIF rules apply. b) If a student is considered eligible by their respective school to participate in any other CIF approved sport, then he or she is eligible to play high school hockey in the ADISL. 5. Any player who is suspended out of school or placed in in-school suspension should not be eligible to compete in any League scheduled regular season or post-season games

3 until he or she has been back in the regular classroom setting for one complete school day. B. Private School Students 1. If a student is enrolled in a private school that is not represented by an ADISL team, but resides within the attendance boundaries of a public school or district that is represented by an ADISL team, he or she is eligible to play only for the public school ADISL team representing that school or district. 2. Student must complete a Player Registration Form indicating the requested team. 3. If the player does not reside within the attendance boundaries of a school or district represented by an ADISL team, or is deemed more appropriate for a Combo Team, the player shall be placed onto a Combo Team. 4. Players in this category must also meet all other eligibility requirements listed for Traditional Students. C. Homeschooled or Students Enrolled in Other Educational Opportunities 1. Students who are homeschooled or enrolled in other educational opportunities and reside within the attendance boundaries of a public school or district are eligible to play only for the team representing that school or district. 2. Homeschooled students are not eligible for teams representing private schools. 3. Students in this category must complete a Player Registration Form indicating the requested team. 4. If the player does not reside within the attendance boundaries of a school or district represented by an ADISL team, the player shall be placed onto a Combo Team. 5. Players in this category must also meet all other eligibility requirements listed for Traditional Students. D. Unaffiliated Players 1. The ADISL does not allow unaffiliated ( free agent ) players to be directly recruited or rostered to any ADISL pure team. Unaffiliated players are deemed as those who do not attend an ADISL member school or district, reside outside of the attendance boundaries of any ADISL member school or district, and have no other connection to any member school. 2. Any player not attending an ADISL member school or district and who resides outside of the attendance boundaries of any ADISL member school or district shall initially be designated as a Combo player. After the initial designation, such players MAY be placed

4 onto a pure team by petition request or by decision of league officials IF a pure team needs additional players. 3. In order for a school team to be considered pure, at least 80% of the rostered players (5/7, 6/8, 7/9, 8/10) MUST either attend the school in question or reside within the attendance boundaries of the school or district. If a school team already has eight (8) or more traditional players, there should not be any need to add additional players from outside of the school attendance boundaries. E. Proof of Eligibility/Binders 1. Before playing in any ADISL game, pre-season or regular season, all players are required to have the following documents on file in the Team Binder: a) Completed (all sections except as designated) copy of the Player Registration Form (including current student ID or Proof of Enrollment to be copied by League Official); b) Proof of The Rinks membership (membership card, receipt, or rink verification); c) Valid AAU membership card (available at play.aausports.org). 2. Team Managers may elect to collect the Player Registration Form, AAU membership card, and proof of The Rinks membership in advance to place into the Team Binder, but players are still required to present a current student ID with photo to league officials for copying onto the Player Registration Form before his or her first game played. 3. If a player is homeschooled or enrolled in other educational opportunities and is unable to provide a valid student ID with photo, other methods for proof of high school level enrollment will be considered. 4. A check-in station will be available at a designated location before all pre-season games. As of the end of a team s last pre-season game, any additions to team rosters will need to be via petition, with paperwork submitted at that point. 5. Team Managers should also hold a duplicate copy of the Team Binder for their own records. F. Official Team Rosters 1. All teams must submit a typed Team Roster Form. The roster must include player names, jersey numbers, and current school grades, and should note if a player is a goalie or a petition player. The roster should also include names, cell phone numbers, and addresses for coaches and managers. A preliminary roster is due before the team s first pre-season game. 2. Updated copies of the Team Roster can be submitted at any time until the start of the team s first regular season game, as long as any additional players meet the criteria listed above.

5 3. From the end of the team s final pre-season game to the start of the team s third game of the regular season, any additions to the roster must be approved by a league official. Additions to the roster during this time period may result in the team being moved to a higher division. 4. No updates of the Team Roster Form will be accepted after the start of the team s third regular season game, EXCEPT in cases where a team has more than one team and elects to permanently move a player from a lower division team to a higher division team from the school. 5. Players must be listed on the most recent submitted Team Roster Form in order to participate in any game. If a player participates in a League game and is not listed on the Team Roster Form, the game will be deemed a forfeit in favor of the opposing team. 6. The only players that can be on multiple rosters are goalies. A goalie can be listed on the rosters for all member teams from a school, and can be listed as a skater on the roster for ONE team from a school. A goalie from a school team can also be listed on the roster for a Combo team, as long as the Combo team is not in the same division as any school team of which the goalie is already on the roster. G. Goalies 1. As mentioned above, Goalies are the ONLY players that can appear on more than one roster, either for their own school or for a Combo team. 2. Teams may request to use a substitute goalie for a pre-season or regular season game only if no goalie listed on the Team Roster Form is available. All substitute goalies must be approved by a league official, and must be on the game scoresheet with his or her name and sub listed. Substitute goalies are NOT allowed for playoff games. H. Tryouts 1. Each Member Team will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating its own tryouts. I. Playoff Eligibility 1. Players must participate in 50% of a team s Regular Season Games to be eligible for Playoffs. 2. Games missed due to injury should be noted on game score sheets and will be counted as games played for play-off eligibility. 3. Games missed due to suspensions served do not count as games played. IV. COACH ELIGIBILITY A. General

6 1. Each Member Team shall be responsible for selecting all of its coaches and team officials. 2. In the event a Member Team is having difficulty finding a Head Coach, the League may assist in the process by providing the names of potential coaches to a representative of the Member Team seeking a Head Coach. 3. Upon selection of a Head Coach by a Member Team, such Member Team shall notify a League official of its selection by submitting the Coach Registration Form. All coaches and assistant coaches are subject to final approval by the League, with such approval not being unreasonably withheld. B. Accreditation of Coaches 1. All Coaches, Heads and Assistants, for each Member Team must have AAU Non-Athlete Membership. 2. All Coaches, Heads and Assistants, must submit a completed Coach Registration Form prior to the first official team game in which such coach is on the bench for a Member Team.. C. Background Checks 1. All Coaches, Heads and Assistants, involved in any ADISL member league/association will have to pass a basic background check that will be administered and required by the League. 2. Anyone not agreeing to this provision will not be allowed to hold any type of coaching position related to that team. V. LEAGUE GAMES & SCHEDULING A. General Information 1. The rules and regulations set forth in this section shall be applicable to all League games, both Varsity and Junior Varsity, including Regular Season Games and Playoff Games. 2. The number of Member Teams, number of League Games each team plays, times of games, length of season and other elements of the League schedule shall be determined at the discretion of the League. 3. League Games shall not be conducted at any rink that has not been expressly approved by the League for league play. The list of approved rinks shall be The Rinks Corona Inline, The Rinks Huntington Beach Inline, and The Rinks Irvine Inline. Additional rinks may be added as needed and approved by the League.

7 4. Organization of Member Teams into Divisions shall be at the discretion of the League. The goal of such alignment shall be competitive balance among all teams in the division. 5. If for any reason a team is unable to field a team for a game and seeks to request that the game be rescheduled, notice must be given to a League Official a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the game. Otherwise, the game will be declared a forfeit in favor of the opposing team. If for any reason it is not possible to reschedule a game, a decision on the result of the game will be determined by League Officials.. B. Game Scoresheet Rosters 1. All players participating in a League game must be listed on the game scoresheet. If for any reason an officially rostered player is not listed on the scoresheet, a League official should be notified and the player s name written on the scoresheet. 2. If a player participates in a League game and is not listed on the scoresheet, the game may be deemed a forfeit in favor of the opposing team. 3. All players must initial the scoresheet before playing in any League game and verify that his or her jersey number is correct. 4. If a school has more than one team, players from the school s lower division teams are eligible to play up to two (2) games for a higher division team from the school. Such players must be on the game scoresheet with his or her name and sub listed. If a lower division player participates in more than two (2) games for a higher division team from the school, the player must be moved permanently to the higher division team s roster and will no longer be eligible to play for the lower division team. 5. At the conclusion of every game, a coach from each team must initial the scoresheet to verify the roster for his or her team is correct. C. Game Format 1. All Regular Season and Playoff Games will be played as three periods of 15 minutes utilizing a running clock. The clock will stop in the last two minutes of a game if there is a two goal or less goal differential. 2. A game will be stopped and declared a mercy win if one team has an eight goal lead. 3. For Regular Season Games, if a game is tied at the end of regulation, a four on four, 3- minute running clock, sudden death overtime will be played. If the score is still tied at the end of the overtime period, the game will be listed as tie. 4. If a game is declared a forfeit, the score will be listed as 1-0 for the opposing team. 5. For Playoff Games, if a game is tied at the end of regulation then a four on four, 5- minute running clock sudden death overtime will be played. If the score is still tied at the end of the first overtime period, teams will then play a three player shootout. If the

8 score is still tied after three skaters from both teams have taken shots, the teams will then alternate shooters until one team has a lead after a full round. All dressed skaters on the bench must take part in the shootout before a player can shoot again. D. League Standings 1. League standings shall be determined by awarding 2 points for a victory, 2 points for an overtime win, 1 point for a tie or overtime loss, and 0 points for a regulation loss. 2. In the case of a tie in the standings, only those games that count in the regular season League standings will be used for tiebreaking purposes. 3. The following guidelines, in order, shall be followed to settle ties in the standings: a. Most wins in all league games; b. Points earned in head to head games between the two teams (this guideline will be skipped if there are three or more tied teams); c. Fewest goals allowed in all league games; d. Largest goal differential total in all league games; e. Fewest penalty minutes allowed in all league games; f. Coin toss. E. Tournaments and Scrimmages 1. Member teams may play in games other than League Games. However, League Games take precedence over other games. 2. Any team not participating in a scheduled League Game shall forfeit such game and shall be subject to such disciplinary action as is deemed appropriate by the League. 3. All officiated home scrimmages/games are under the jurisdiction of the Anaheim Ducks Inline Scholastic League. VI. UNIFORMS A. Jerseys and Pants 1. All League teams shall have two sets of matching jerseys, one white or light-colored and one dark. The designated home team shall wear white or light-colored jerseys. Temporary numbers may not be taped on to jerseys at any time. 2. The ADISL has made a commitment to purchase jerseys for all teams taking part in the Fall/Winter season. The jerseys will remain property of the ADISL and are expected to be returned after a team s last game of the season. 3. Teams participating in the Spring season will have the opportunity to request ADISL jerseys only if the order is submitted at least one month before the start of the Spring season. Spring teams are still expected to meet the jersey requirements even if they have to purchase them on their own.

9 4. Combo teams will wear a generic jersey with a league logo on the front, while pure school teams will be permitted to submit their own custom artwork (MUST be approved by ADISL staff), school colors, and mascot for jersey design. If a team is unable to provide artwork, several stock options will be made available. All jerseys will be designed with a Ducks logo on the right shoulder and a league logo on the left shoulder. 5. All players MUST return their assigned jerseys after the team s last game of the season. It is the responsibility of the team manager to collect and inventory the jerseys. If the Team Manager is returning for the next season, he or she will be permitted to retain the jerseys. The Team Manager may also return them to the team s home rink. 6. Lost Jerseys must be replaced at a cost of $80 per jersey. Graduating seniors or players not returning the following year have the option to purchase the set for $ Players returning the following season will have first option on having the same jersey from the previous season. If a player does not return the following season a new incoming player will be assigned the jersey. 8. Teams are expected to have all players wear matching pants of the same color and basic design. B. Uniform Infractions 1. If any player on a team is not wearing a uniform matching the rest of the team (jersey and pants, as noted above), the team will be subject to a 2 minute minor bench penalty. 2. Determinations as to how close of a match a jersey and/or pants are is at the discretion of the referees and/or a league official. 3. Excessive violations of the Uniform Rule will be reviewed by the League and may warrant additional sanctions. C. Protective Equipment 1. All protective equipment required by AAU Rules must be worn by all players on Member Teams for all League practices and games. 2. Ear and Mouth Guards must be worn by all players on Member Teams for all League practices and games. VII. SUSPENSIONS AND DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS A. ADISL Guidelines 1. Suspensions and Disciplinary Actions will be consistent with the rules of AAU and modified accordingly at the discretion of League Officials.

10 2. The following minimum sanctions will be applied, depending on the severity of the act leading to the penalty: a. Penalty for Fighting/Game Misconduct minimum 1 game suspension b. Penalty for Third player into an Altercation minimum 1 game suspension c. Penalty for Match/Gross Misconduct 30 day suspension 3. All sanctions listed above will be doubled for a second offense of any of the violations listed above in a single season. A third offense of any of the violations listed above in a single season will result in a suspension for one year, and will require a meeting with League Officials before returning.
