3 affordable housing New Apartment Complex for Modesto A fter years of planning, Modesto s newest affordable housing project is coming to fruition. Archway Commons will set a new standard for reasonably priced residences in Central Valley. The project includes a total of 76 residences totaling more than 72,000 square feet. Residences include a mix of one, two and three bedroom units. The community also features a high end 3,900 square foot community center, complete with conference room, pool, learning center, computer room, community kitchen and bbq area. The Modesto project, at Carver and Ninth Street, is planned to be completed by the end of

4 salvation army berberian homeless shelter Expanding To Fill A Need T he Salvation Army, Berberian Homeless Shelter has provided over 20,000 meals and 17,000 nights of lodging to members of the Modesto community, over the last year. Currently bulging at the seams, they have unfortunately had to turn away over 500 nights of shelter. With the hopes of being able to provide shelter to all in need, they have chosen to expand. After careful consideration they have chosen Huff Construction to take on this project. The first phase of this rewarding project is the transformation of current warehouse space into sleeping quarters for the ever growing number of dependents. The conversion of the space will almost double the size of the current accommodations. The second phase of the project will be the conversion of the existing sleeping areas into new, larger, and modernized dining and food preparation areas. In total, almost a third of the 24,000 square foot building will be renovated. All of the work is on track to be completed by the end of Restoring Excellence D KI has been busy during the last quarter of Water damage remediation and fire re-builds have been the major focus.
