According to needs you can choose different monitor, with performances and different dimensions, moreover to the possibility to use a common monitor of PC type with VGA input. The first is the manual mode (in this case two torches are available); the second is the automatic mode. Torch database: in this pages is possible to define the parameters of the plasma torch (on the top) and of the oxifuel torch (on the bottom). Torch Height Control - THC To obtain cut precision and in order not to determine undesired flame shutdowns, it is necessary to keep a stable distance between the torch nozzle that generates the flame and the material to be cut. It is moreover necessary to execute a precise sequence of actions for lighting the torch. The distance between the nozzle and the metal plate depends on the type of material to be cut and its thickness. These factors also affect the parameters that determine the procedure for flame ignition and the parameters of the unit that provides the power to cut (Plasma Cutting Unit). To set these parameters it is possible to use: the operator interface present on the Plasma Cutting Unit; the Host CNC connected via serial line; the Torch Height Control (THC) ISAC CNC automatically handles torch height control moving the torch through a servo motor or a step motor. Other numerical controls do not offer this functionality. Moreover, when cutting machines require more oxifuel torches, the handling of the torch height control occurs through an additional device such as, for example, the ISAC Torch Height Control, THC. The THC interfaces (see picture below): the Safety Unit; the Host CNC; the mechanics that moves the torch, consisting in a 400 W step motor (Mechanical Torch Height Control); the Plasma Cutting Unit. The THC offers two types of operator interfaces. The first (Minimal HMI), consists of three potentiometers (to adjust the parameters essential to its functioning) and a selector (for manually handling the torch up and down). The other (Advanced HMI) consists of a 4.3 inches touch screen through which a wider array of choices and settings is available. With the second interface it is Page 8 of 11

CNC FOR PLASMA OXY FUEL AND LASER CUTTING possible to use a database resident in the THC that allows to know the optimal parameters to be set on the Plasma Cutting Unit and on the THC.

The optimal parameters can be easily obtained consulting the database, by setting the material to be cut and its thickness. The database is created by taking into account the supplier and the model of the Plasma Cutting Unit. The optimal parameters derived from the database can be used by the operator by setting them manually on the Plasma Cutting Unit through its operator interface or can be sent from the THC to the Plasma Cutting Unit through a communication protocol via serial line.
