2 Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the Association of Young Hungarian Gastroenterologists (FIGAMU) and UEGF, we would like to invite you to participate in a Training in Endoscopy focusing on GI bleeding, organized in the beautiful city of Pécs, Hungary, taking place on 11-12th November, 2011! The two-day course on GI bleeding organized by FIGAMU and supported by UEGF and Hungarian Society of Gastroenterology (MGT) includes both theoretical sessions with invited international and Hungarian lecturers and practical sessions with hands-on training. The participants already possessing an essential knowledge in GI endoscopy shall acquire detailed up to date knowledge in urgent GI endoscopy (indications and contraindications, preparation, monitoring and premedication, the role of risk stratification and scoring systems, the peri-procedural management of patients on antithrombotics and anticoagulants, methods for haemostasis and the management of postprocedure complications). On the second day hands-on sessions will be provided on Erlangen models. Simultaneous translation is provided for international participants throughout the course. The invitation to our program is for trainees in gastroenterology and for young specialists in Europe with basic skills in gastrointestinal endoscopy. A limited number of applicants are accepted on a first come - first served basis. The course is CME applied. The venue of the training is located in the university town of Pécs, which is one of the most attractive cities in Hungary, chosen as the European Cultural Capital in 2010 and also being part of the UNESCO s World Heritage. We hope that you will join us in Pécs and contribute to an international meeting on endoscopy, whose success largely depends on its participants.
