Liz is a Harvard-educated energy lawyer, former diplomat and politician with an impressive career in the Caribbean and the US. She is also cousin to the famous inventor Ellie Mannette who has been making the world s best steel drums for more than sixty years and is known as the Father of the modern steel drum. It is this rich drum heritage which inspired Liz to create jewelry for herself and her family; the designs were so striking that friends and colleagues immediately began requesting pieces for themselves. Now five years since she started in Trinidad in 2007, the Collection has evolved to more than 100 pieces in sterling silver, 14K gold and 18K Gold vermeil. Her newest Resort line includes colored gemstones in bright, cheery hues. All pieces encompass design elements based on different facets of the steel drums (known also as steelpans) as seen through the eyes of a professional, stylish artist who makes bold statements in life and in fashion.
