2 Purpose of Nav Bridge System To enhance the safety of the ship and her navigational safety by centralized access to sensor information or command/control from various workstations. IBS performs a role of System Integrator and interfaces with Navigations Systems.
3 Transas INS Class C (MSC.252(83)/2.1.2): INS is defined as such if work stations provide multifunctional displays integrating at least the following navigational tasks/functions: Route monitoring Collision avoidance and may provide manual and/or automatic navigation control functions. Transas has introduced INS Class C system in The solution was developed together with Hyundai Heavy Industries and was the first type-approved INS in the market Hyundai Transas intelligent Bridge System HTiBS Newbuilding series at Hyundai shipyard, Korea
4 INS Standard IMO Resolution MSC.252(83) 2007 in force from 2011 IEC Performance Test standard for INS is being developed and is expected by the end of 2012 Newbuilding series at Hyundai shipyard, Korea
5 Concept of Integration Consists of multifunctional workstations connected via Ethernet network ECDIS, Radar, Conning, Track Control and BNWAS/AMS are Integrated in every workstation Chart corrections, route, sensors and users databases are synchronized through all workstations Sensor redundancy and double network Based on common HW platform

8 Case study The Task The task was to provide an integrated solution for Navigation and Manoeuvring System should be able to predict vessels motion based on SSPA Predictor System should provide decision support combining information from ECDIS with Precisice navigation tools, Chart Radar, CCTV Cameras, into one or two displays designed for mooring operations Vessel should be equiped with ECDIS and ENC fully compliant to sail without paper charts

10 Case study Ergonomics Workplaces for Pilot Co-Pilot was equipped with new armrests fitting: Trackball for control of MFD Workstations Control of EMRI Auto Pilot Priority Equipment such as VHF stations was mounted for easy reach by Pilot and Co-Pilot Non-priority equipment was moved from the vicinity of the Officer of the watch Transas Trackball system allowing the Officer to operate several workstations from one trackball Switch between Workstations is done via functions keys on the Trackball

14 BNWAS Transas BNWAS is fully type approved according to IEC62616 and DNV rules Supplied as option for ECDIS/MFD station in combination with AMS functionality Flexible in configuration/compatibility with other manufactures (via discrete or RS ports + NMEA custom messaging) Flexibility in HW platform due to changeable quantity of discrete and NMEA signals connectivity Seamless integration with Transas MFD stations: alarms and data transferring
15 Firewall system Transas Firewall System is used for safe transfer of data, such as Electronic Navigation Charts (ENCs), chart updates, weather forecasts etc. The new type-approval guarantees direct connection and communication with full security of this operation through Transas Firewall and Antivirus Protector. Transas Firewall system is based on IEC60945 certified hardware with incorporated Firewall & Antivirus software. With Firewall system Remote service becomes possible
16 Training Bridge can be placed in training mode Training includes provision of Instructor station with capability to start and stop training exercise, record and playback Logs of onboard Bridge system can be used for Navigation training, e.g. to IBS onboard training for Venezuela Navy playback the accident conditions for further assessment
17 The future Once the INS system is approved the situation will become much more straightforward for all concerned. It is important to ensure that everything is right with INS because such system will be necessary to provide the kind of platform required for the eventual implementation of e-navigation.
