3 MISSION The MPH Program at Wayne State University is committed to advancing the public health sciences and providing the education and training that prepares and enables students to address the health needs of multiple populations, particularly urban and culturally diverse populations

4 OBJECTIVES Recruit students with diverse backgrounds Provide a competency-driven curriculum Engage the full potential of WSU faculty Prepare graduates to fully participate as practicing public health professionals

5 HISTORY 2004 Dept of Community Medicine converts MS (in Com Health) to MPH Student interest More applicable in current market 2006 Merger of DCM, CHER faculty and DFM approved by WSU Board of Governors 2007 New Dept of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences
