It is important to share knowledge and experience and to communicate across cultures due to Fryderyk Chopin s music, which constitutes an universal language

3 The Wojciech Kilar Music School Complex No. 2 in Rzeszow The beginnings the establishment of the Music School in Rzeszów, one of the first institution of the kind in Poland after the war. In 1947, named after Fryderyk Chopin by the Ministry 1947 Organization of the Competition of Young Talents Eminent laureates: Adam Harasiewicz - subsequently, the winner of the International Warsaw Chopin Competition (in 1955) Wojciech Kilar - the word-famous composer, now the patron of the Music School Complex A. Harasiewicz and W. Kilar Outstanding graduates in the following years: Maria Korecka, the pianist; Mirosława Semeniuk, the organist; Małgorzata Bator, the organizer of the International Chopin Competition for Children and Young People in Göttingen (Germany) in the 1990s

5 1980s and 1990s - regional competitions Since 1980, Chopin Evenings, preceded by objective preliminaries, have been a permanent entry in the School s calendar of concert events Students from the other schools in the region have also joined the competition in Rzeszów Soloist competitions - every second year, with piano duet competitions, to complement the concert calendar in alternate years Initially, the competitions were intended for primary school pupils only; since 1997 also for the students of the secondary music school that joined the Music School Complex
