3 Levels of Certification Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CRADC) Certified Supervisor Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CSADC) Certified Master Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CMADC)

4 Levels of Certification The CADC credential is recognized only in Illinois. The CRADC, CSADC, and CMADC credentials are reciprocal levels. After CADC has been obtained, members may transition to a reciprocal level.

7 Qualified Work Experience Definition Paid work experience providing counseling - 51% of time with a client caseload providing primary alcohol and other drug abuse counseling. Primary responsibility - providing AODA counseling to an individual and/or group, preparing treatment plans, documenting client s progress, and clinically supervised by an individual knowledgeable in addiction counseling.

24 Written Examination. Examination Applicants have the opportunity to take the written examination prior to approval of application by submitting the minimum application requirements: General information pages of application Signed, dated, and notarized Code of Ethics Payment of application fee Letter from applicant requesting to take the examination prior to application approval. Information must be received prior to application deadline Applicant will receive an examination letter and test code sheet. To be scheduled for examination, applicant must return test code sheet with payment of the examination fee.
