Purkapile. 2:36:00 AM Officers made contact with an individual laying on the sidewalk. A responsible party was found for him, and he was given a ride home. He advised that he is missing his glasses. He was also observed keeping his hand on a pocket knife that was on his person. Officers responded and searched the area and spoke with the complainant. The individual in question was not located. Approved by OIC Auz. 2:08:00 PM Caller advised of a dispute regarding property lines and vehicles driving on on her lawn. An officer responded and spoke with the individuals who drove on her lawn. A 911 call was received from a business with no one on the other end. Officers responded and determined that 911 was dialed in error, and that there was no emergency. Approved OIC Auz. 4:04:00 PM Complainant stated a backpack was sitting in the back of the church. Officer responded and determined there was no danger. The backpack belonged to a child, and was placed in the lost and found at the church. Approved by OIC Vandevort. 4:45:00 PM Complainant stated a small dog was panting inside a parked vehicle at this location. Officer responded and made contact with the owner, who was inside the store. She was advised of the complaint and asked to have someone stay with the dog. Officer advised windows were partially open and the dog had access to water, but seemed to be panting heavily. She met with the officer and confirmed everything was okay, and this was a misdial. Complainant stated a blue Chevy Silverado had passed in a no passing zone twice, between Lancaster and

Officers were advised, but were not in position to locate the vehicle. Approved by OIC Auz. 5:01:00 PM Cell 911. Complainant stated her vehicle was stalled in traffic at this location. Officer responded and stood by while the complainant moved the vehicle to a nearby parking lot. Approved by OIC Auz. 4:56:00 PM Complainant reported the theft of a bike from this location. Approved by OIC Auz. 5:08:00 PM Officers attempted to make contact with an individual at the request of another law enforcement agency. Unable to locate. Approved by OIC Auz. 5:16:00 PM Complainant stated there was a strong odor in the store that might be Marijuana. Officers responded and advised the smell could be a candle or incense from an upstairs apartment, but did not seem to be Marijuana. Approved by OIC Auz. 5:35:00 PM E911. Complainant stated a moped had caught fire in the parking lot, and had been extinguished. Complainant stated the moped was leaking fuel and oil. Officer responded and advised antifreeze and oil were leaking, but no fuel. An MV4000 will be completed, and the owner will make sure the moped is removed from the lot. He was issued a written warning for failing to have insurance on the moped. Approved by OIC Auz. 6:00:00 PM Officer responded to the scene of a reported accident outside of the city, to check for injuries and stand by until a Grant County deputy arrived. Approved by OIC Auz. 6:50:00 PM Complainants requested fingerprinting. Approved by OIC Auz. 7:09:00 PM An employee of Walmart requested an officer due to a shoplifting incident. Officer responded and it was determined the individual had also stolen property from Menards. The suspect injured their hand while cutting packaging open and refused medical attention. Citation for retail theft will be mailed to suspect. Approved Sgt Droessler.

9 Crime Log with Notes Page: 9 08/16/2016 7:24:00 PM Complainant reported receiving a phone call about a disturbance at a local residence. Officers made contact with the subjects involved. The male and female had a verbal argument and the female asked the male to leave her residence. While he was gathering his clothing, the male punched the wall, causing damage. Both parties stated there was no physical altercation between them, only a verbal argument. The female wanted the other subject to leave and to have no further contact. The male was agreeable and they were given suggestions to exchange property that may be at the other's residence without further incident. Approved by Sgt. Droessler. 8:02:00 PM Officer conducted radar enforcement at this location. Approved by Sgt. Droessler. 8:34:00 PM Traffic stop. Driver was given a verbal warning for a defective passenger side tail light. Approved by Sgt. Droessler. 9:07:00 PM Officer conducted a security check at this location. Approved by Sgt. Droessler. 10:28:00 PM Complainant stated no one was answering the phone at this location. Complainant advised her son was living there and no one seemed to be home after curfew. Officer responded to the residence and stated the house was locked up and dark. A call was placed to an employee, who was able to locate everyone. She called back and advised everyone was okay, and had permission to be at a late movie. The complainant was contacted and provided with this information. Approved by Sgt. Droessler. 11:00:00 PM Officer noticed this vehicle, which was parked and occupied in the lot at this location. The owner was on his phone, and advised everything was okay. Approved by Sgt. Droessler. 11:04:00 PM Officer conducted a security check at this location. Approved by Sgt. Droessler. 11:09:00 PM Complainant reported a problem with loud music at this location. Officers responded and made contact with an individual who was watching a movie and had the volume too loud. She was given a verbal warning for DC/Noise. Approved by Sgt. Droessler.

Complainant spoke with a Grant County dispatcher and asked that an individual be removed from her residence. When the call was transferred, the complainant refused to speak to dispatch, and hung up. Officers responded and made contact with the complainant. An officer responded to the residence of a male individual who had been at the complainant's home earlier. He stated he had been home for over an hour and had not returned. Approved by Sgt. Droessler. 1:39:00 AM Officer conducted security checks on Big Jack Rd. Approved by Sgt. Droessler. 2:07:00 AM Complainant reported an alarm at this business. Officers responded and a keyholder was contacted. The building was cleared without incident. Approved Sgt. Droessler. 4:41:00 AM An officer enforced parking regulations at this location. Approved Sgt. Droessler. 4:56:00 AM Complainant reported their vehicle missing from Lot #2 of the downtown area. Complainant stated they were in possession of both sets of keys and did not give anyone else permission to drive the car. Upon viewing the downtown camera footage, two subjects walking a dog were observed near the vehicle. The vehicle then drives away. Officers checked the area the vehicle was driven toward and located it. No damage observed and the owner's property was still in it. Owner's keys were taken for OMVI prevention upon her coming to retrieve the vehicle. Approved Sgt Droessler. 9:13:00 AM Officer preformed community policing. Approved Sgt Grabandt 2:57:00 PM Complainant called about skateboarders on the sidewalk. Approved Sgt Grabandt 3:21:00 PM Complainant requested assistance with a vehicle lockout. CSO responded, form was signed and entry gained. Approved by Sgt. Grabandt. 3:37:00 PM Southwest Health EMS transported a patient to a local nursing facility. Approved by Sgt. Grabandt. 4:14:00 PM Officer conducted bike patrol city wide. Approved by Sgt. Grabandt. 4:59:00 PM Complainant reported two vehicles that had been parked on Broadway across from Neal Wilkins for several days. He requested parking enforcement. Approved by Sgt. Grabandt. Both vehicles were chalked by officer and will be checked in 48 hours. 6:57:00 PM Complainant stated a piece of artwork had been stolen from this location. It was a painting described as 3x4 with a nuclear holocaust theme. Also has an atomic clock pictured and foreign soldiers marching together. Unknown when it was taken. 8:32:00 PM A staff member of a bar called to advise that a female was asked to leave numerous times and refused to do so. Officers responded and met the female as she exited the back of the bar. She was obviously intoxicated and known to be on probation. P&P was contacted and placed a hold on her for violation of her no bar or alcohol restriction. She advised officers that she was having a medical issue so the ambulance was dispatched to take her to the hospital for medical evaluation. Once cleared she was taken to the Grant County Jail on a probation hold.

He was issued a citation and friends came to pick him up at the scene. 9:52:00 PM E911 hang up. Grant County relayed a call which sounded like a verbal argument but the caller hung up. No answer on callback. Officers responded to the area where the call plotted. Officers located the subjects at an apartment complex and questioned them about the call. They advised that the phone belonged to a friend and they were arguing about the password for the phone. There had been no physical domestic incident. The friend who the phone belonged to was not there. They were issued a verbal warning for DC. 11:32:00 PM Security checks completed. 11:53:00 PM Extra patrol requested. The manager advised that a front door into the entry was jammed and did not lock properly. Officers advised. 11:56:00 PM Anonymous caller reported a male walking on the second floor of the new library building under construction. Officers responded and found that workers were pouring concrete on the second floor. 08/18/ :15:00 AM Security check at the High. Two doors were found open but locked. Keyholder was advised and asked that the doors just be shut. Officers located two more doors unsecured, one had been propped open. Sgt called the keyholder back and he responded. All the doors but one were able to be secured and the keyholder would have that one fixed in the morning. Extra patrol was requested.

Driver was issued a citation for Operating after Suspension and the valid passenger drove from the scene. 12:59:00 AM Security check completed. 1:07:00 AM Community policing contact completed. 1:14:00 AM Security check completed. 1:33:00 AM Security check. An unoccupied vehicle was parked in the lot. 1:35:00 AM Officer checked the area of the new construction as she observed a light on inside. There was a hole in a door and someone had wrote "Listo Helpp Me" on the plastic. A member of Pioneer Property Management was contacted to make him aware of the damage. He advised he had not been notified of anything prior and would be speaking with the construction manager in the morning. He did not wish to have officers clear the building. 2:12:00 AM Secure Care Center received a medical alert from a subject who had fallen and was unable to get back up. She had advised she was uninjured. Officers responded to assist. 2:28:00 AM Security check completed.

Purkapile. 3:37:00 AM Caller reported an attempted break in on her vehicle. The suspect fled when the alarm on the vehicle sounded. She was unable to provide a description of the suspect nor a direction of travel. An officer met with the complainant. New scratch marks were reported on the vehicle. An officer patroled the area after contact with the complainant. Approved Sgt. Purkapile. 3:38:00 AM An officer was stationary at this location and monitored traffic. Approved Sgt. Purkapile. 4:13:00 AM An officer enforced parking in the downtown area. Approved Sgt. Purkapile. 5:10:00 AM Cell 911. Southwest Health EMS transported a patient to the hospital. Approved Sgt. Purkapile. 7:48:00 AM Complainant reported a two vehicle accident. Complainant has minor damage to her passenger door. The other driver was not at the scene, but had told the complainant that it did not appear that he had damage to his vehicle. Complainant vehicle was turning east onto Main Street from Fourth Street. Other vehicle was pulling from a legal parking stall just east of Fourth Street on the south side of Main Street to enter Main Street traveling east. Complainant vehicle struck the other vehicle in the front bumper area. Approved Sgt Grabandt 8:22:00 AM Complainant called about vehicles parked in the lot that were not suppose to be there. Officer responded to find that the possible offender was drunk and friendly at the time. No sexual assault reported. Approved Sgt Grabandt 10:14:00 AM Vehicle owner had a flat tire, CSO assisted in moving the vehicle into a lot. Owner will move the car later today. Subject came into the station and reported that her tire had been slashed. Approved Sgt Grabandt 10:50:00 AM Complainant called about an argument between him and 2 other individuals at this location. Approved Sgt Grabandt 12:42:00 PM Background check for liquor license. Approved Sgt Grabandt 2:31:00 PM CSO assisted with a vehicle lockout, entry gained with no damage. Approved Sgt Grabandt 2:47:00 PM Officer preformed a traffic stop for brake light, driver was warned for the same. Approved Sgt Grabandt 2:56:00 PM Complainant reported that he made contact with a person to move his vehicle. The owner of the vehicle drove the vehicle around the block and parked it in the same space. Officer made contact with a neighbor who stated that the owner of the vehicle went to work. Street was not posted properly. Approved Sgt Grabandt 4:09:00 PM A two vehicle accident was reported in the parking lot of Farm and Fleet. No injuries reported. Both drivers were backing at the same time and collided. Damage was minor and no MV4000 will be needed. Approved Sgt Grabandt 6:05:00 PM Employee of business called to advise a male was in the store for the second time this week and he was wearing very torn jeans and no underwear. Officers made contact with the male as he was walking from the business. He was informed of the complaint and advised he did not realize that there was an issue. He was advised to maybe get a new pair of pants.

She played officer a phone message left which advised her that she owed money to the IRS and if not paid she would have a warrant. Officer informed her to disregard the message and not to call them back. 8:04:00 PM Lock out request. Subject was advised to wait until an officer was available. Dispatch called back and gave the owner the option of waiting longer or calling a locksmith. She called the locksmith. 8:05:00 PM Caller advised that a tree just fell on their parked car. No one was injured. The street department was contacted to have a crew remove the tree and debris. 8:11:00 PM Caller advised that the power lines were sparking with branches on them. The fire chief checked to make sure they were not on fire. He stated they would be alright but to make sure Alliant was notified to remove the branches. Alliant was contacted. 8:49:00 PM 911 caller advised that a branch was on fire on the power line. The caller was advised that the fire department had checked on it and it was not a hazard. He was also advised that Alliant is aware as well. 8:55:00 PM E and other numerous calls received about power out in and outside of the city. Another caller advised that there was a tree down with a line at Washington and Union intersection. Alliant was notified and had tech's enroute. 10:25:00 PM Officer assisted with a vehicle lock out. Entry gained with no damage.

City officer responded to check the status of the building and occupants. It was determined that this was a barn fire not a house fire. Alliant Energy was contacted for an emergency disconnect.. 08/19/ :04:00 AM Security checks completed.. 12:09:00 AM Security checks conducted.. 12:10:00 AM Security checks conducted.. 12:14:00 AM One of the Platteville Assistant Fire Chiefs reported a bewildered subject had walked through the fire department building and was last seen heading west bound on E Main St. Officers located the subject on E Main St. Ambulance was requested to respond and transported the subject to Mercy Medical Center Subject's cell phone was found at the Platteville Fire Department.
