3 Medical department Flekkefjord is lead by dep.leader Annette Solinski and dr. Jens Pallenschat. The departement has 7 chief doctors, 2 doctors in medical specialization and 5 interns. 4 of our chief doctors are from Germany and one from Portugal. Medical departement: 27 beds, 4 of them are ment for acute stroke and rehabilitation, and 3 beds for palliative care. We also have 4 medical beds in intensiv care, and 4 beds for dialysis in the same departement. The staff are highly educated and have their focus in giving best treatment to the patients. Different health profesions within the departement are working together in teams. Medical polyclinic: Med.pol. covers along with the medical departement the medical specialties cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, geriatric and general medicine. Special educated nurses within the medical fields diabetic, lung medicine and heart failure are working in the polyclinic. Onkology unit: This unit provides good cancer treatment and care, and co-operate with specialized doctors from Stavanger University Hospital. They give, together with special trained nurses, excellent service and treatment, both to the polyclinic patients and the patients in the palliative beds located in the medical departement. The hospital have also a palliative team for the whole Lister region and they are serving all cancer patients who need their service. Two geriatric daycare units: One unit is located in the town of Farsund, about half an hours drive from Flekkefjord. The other one is located in Flekkefjord. The units offers a good treatment and rehabilitation to elderly people with chronic disease and who are not able to take good care of themselves in daily life. The main goal is to contribute so the patients can stay in their own homes as long as possible and have good quality of life, with the help and support they need from healthservice.

4 Departement of surgery Flekkefjord. The departement is lead by dr. Marcus Gürgen and assistant department leader Marit M. Larsen. The surgery department has 6 chief doctors and 5 interns. Five of the chief doctors are from Germany. The gynecology departement has 4 chief doctors. Three of those are from Germany. Surgery / gynecology departement: 22 surgical and 4 beds for gynecology. The departement is a mixed departement with orthopedic, general surgery and gynecology. Higly educated staff who is working in teams. Surgery/gynecology polyclinic: The specialties in the polyclinic are gynecology, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery. The polyclinic also covers a outpatient wound clinic. Maternity ward: 10 beds and 2 technical beds. The ward is approven by the World Health Organization as a mother child friendly department. The maternity ward is a combined birth and confinement departement, and we have abouth 400 deliverys a year. The mothers self decide how long she and the baby stay in the ward after delivery. The departement also runs a pregnancy- and an anwiety polyclinic. Midwifes in the departement also give service to three of the municipalities in the nearby region.. The operating theatre:: The departement has 5 operation rooms and a sterile central..

5 Anestesiologic department Flekkefjord. The department is lead by head nurse Katrin Jahnke. The physician-in-charge is dr. Christian Stremme. The departement has 3 chief doctors who all are Germans. The departement of anaesthesia: Three anestesiologists and ten special trained nurses is employeed in the departement. Intensive care unit: The unit is a mixed unit with 4 medical intensive care beds, 8 post operative surgical beds and 4 beds for dialysis. The unit provides service to all departments at the hospital, in relation to the profession they belong to. An anaestesiologist is superior responsible of the unit. The unit employes16 special trained nurses. Emergency ward and casualty clinic: The casualty clinic is a clinic for the nearby surronding municipalitys. It is owned by the municipalitys, and operates in premises at the hospital with assistance from nurses in the emergency unit. The emergency unit both serves as an ordinary emergency unit and as a reception for the patiens in the hospital. The emergency unit is the patients first meeting-point in the hospital if they are in need of hospitalization. The emergency unit employes 13 nurses and is erved bydoctors from all departments in the hospital.

6 Medical service clinic Flekkefjord. Lead by department leader Venke Njølstad. The departement has 3 chief doctors, but one of the positions is currently vacant. One of the doctors in the X-ray departement is from Germany and the other one is from Bulgaria. The hospital is in need of a doctor for the X-ray departement! X-ray departement: The X-ray departement has three X-ray specialists and 8 special trained co-workers. The departement has ordinary X-ray, CT scan, ultrasound and mammography range. MRT vil be installed in fall The laboratory: The unit gives a laboratory range both to in-hospital patients and outpatients. The unit also draws blood from blood donors. The unit employes 9,5 bioengeneers. Fysiotherapy/occupational therapy service: Fysiotherapy/occupational therapy service is organized in the medical service clinic, and serve both tho in-hospital patients and outpatients. The unit Has one position for a occupational therapist and four positions for fysiotherapists. They take part in interdisciplinary teams and give service to all of the departements and units at the hospital.

7 Service unit Flekkefjord. The unit covers important service functions for the patient activity, and give service to all departments and units at the hospital.
