3 Thermal & Renewable Power Established since early the 90 s in Vietnam with the opening of offices in and Ho Chi Minh City, Alstom has been a key player in the Vietnam power market for 20 years. 4 Alstom Transport has been present in Vietnam since 1998 when it first helped Vietnam Railways modernise its four workshops. Subsequently, Alstom was chosen as the supplier of the first modern mainline signalling system in Vietnam in 2002 for 3 stations, and in 2009, Vietnam Railways chooses Alstom to modernize full 320 km with 36 stations of 1700 km line which links HANOI to HCM-City (Thong Nhat line or reunification line that carries Trans Intercity trains). Once completed, the quality and safety of all train operation in the line will be improved and will meet a significant part of the Vietnam Railways target Headquartered in and project office in -Vinh project, Alstom has maintained a strong working relationship with Vietnam Railways and cities UMRT. 5 Grid Alstom Grid Vietnam has been present in Vietnam almost 20 years, providing transmission solutions to important projects for Utilities and Industry customers. Alstom Grid has been the main contractor of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) since 1995, and has widely contributed to the reinforcement of the existing 500kV Transmission network, supplying all the 500kV substations along the second new Transmission Line linking North to South Vietnam.
