3 Area of responsibility TWR is responsible for air traffic control service and flight information service in Landvetter CTR. GND is responsible for control of traffic on the taxiways and for flight information service on the apron. DEL is responsible for approving start-up and reading IFR clearance. ATIS TWR is responsible for updating and maintaining Landvetter ATIS frequency (VATSIM ). ATIS can also be maintained by GND or DEL. Use of runways With tailwind component <5 kt, if the traffic situation allows, and if it facilitates traffic flow, RWY 21 is used for take-off and landing. Taxi Departing aircraft are normally instructed to taxi via TWY Z (max wingspan 52 m). The traffic is transferred to TWR in sufficient time for TWR to determine the departure sequence. Arriving aircraft are normally instructed to taxi via TWY Y. TWY D shall not be used when RWY 03 is in use, since this will block the taxiway for departing traffic. If necessary, TWR will direct which taxiway link to use for vacating the runway, and the traffic is transferred to GND after vacating the runway. Parking procedures Pushback is requireed from stand 5-40 and stand Aerobridges are available at stand Domestic airline flights use stand 12-16; international airline flights use stand (Stand 16 is used for both domestic and international traffic.) Airline flights (mainly smaller aircraft such as CRJ and turboprops) may also be parked remote. Cargo at stand 5-10 and Small GA at stand 67/68. Other GA at other remote stands (23-40, 46-78). Low visibility procedures (LVP) General LVP shall be applied when Runway Visual Range (RVR) is reduced below 550 m and/or the ceiling/vertical visibility is reduced to 200 ft or less. Application of LVP shall be announced by ATIS. Note: In EuroScope, type [LVP] manually in the ATIS, after [transition level] XX. E.g.: [transition level] 50 [LVP] [METREPORT].... Remember that ATIS needs to be updated manually; otherwise LVP will disappear at the next automatic update. Traffic on the manoeuvring area is controlled using surface movement radar (SMR). If SMR is unserviceable, only one aircraft at a time is allowed on the manoeuvring area. 3

4 LVP shall be suspended when RVR is at least 800 m and ceiling/vertical visibility is at least 300 ft. Departing traffic Departing traffic is given taxi clearance to CAT II holding position. Phraseology TAXI TO CAT II HOLDING POINT RUNWAY XX. Arriving traffic Landing RWY 03: The traffic is instructed to vacate RWY via TWY E, F or Y north. Landing RWY 21: The traffic is instructed to vacate RWY via TWY D, C, B or Y south. The pilot shall report when the ILS sensitive area is vacated (i.e. when the entire aircraft has passed the yellow/green coded section of the taxiway centreline lights). If required, remind the pilot to REPORT ILS SENSITIVE AREA VACATED. Traffic regulations Minimum circuit altitude is 2000 ft for jet aircraft. Jet aircraft shall climb straight ahead to 1500 ft before turning to join the traffic circuit.. Arriving IFR Handover from TMC Transfer of communication to TWR latest at OM/4 NM final. However, TMC is responsible for separation until the traffic has passed the threshold. CAT II approach Separation between arriving aircraft during CAT II operations is minimum 5 NM, to ensure that the preceding aircraft has vacated the ILS sensitive area and completely has vacated the runway when the next arriving aircraft passes 2 NM final. Landing clearance is normally given before the aircraft reaches 2 NM final. If this is not possible, landing clearance shall be given latest at 1 NM final. If landing clearance cannot be given at this point, the aircraft shall be instructed to go around. Visual approach Visual approach is only permitted for propeller driven aircraft with MTOW 7000 kg or below. Missed approach TWR phones TMC to alert about missed approach (APP-W for RWY 21 and APP-E for RWY 03). The traffic follows the published missed approach procedure unless otherwise coordinated: climb straight ahead to 1500 ft, then left turn (RWY 03) or right turn (RWY 21) to BAK VOR, climbing to 3000 ft. TMC may revise the missed approach procedure if required. TWR is then informed about the changes and forwards the instructions to the pilot during approach. 4

5 Arriving VFR Arriving VFR traffic is cleared by TMC to an appropriate CTR entry point. Radio communication is transferred to TWR. Departing IFR Clearance IFR clearance and transponder code is delivered by DEL at the request for start-up. Clearance via SID. The altitude restriction of 5000 ft is noted on the SID charts and is not read in the clearance. Traffic unable to follow FMS/RNAV SID shall report this when requesting clearance. The traffic is cleared via SID and instructed to follow the unable RNAV SID instruction which is printed on the SID charts. GND enters NFMS in OP-TEXT (scratchpad). If the above cannot be applied, clearance shall be requested from ESGG APP-E/APP-W. Phraseology: (callsign), START-UP APPROVED, CLEARED TO (destination) VIA (SID designator) DEPARTURE [TO FOLLOW THE UNABLE RNAV SID INSTRUCTION], SQUAWK (code). [INFORMATION (ATIS identification) VALID, QNH (value)]. Information about the current ATIS and QNH is only given in case it was omitted by the pilot or if the pilot gave wrong or outdated information. Clearance low speed traffic Propeller driven aircraft are normally cleared via propller SIDs (NEGIL 2P, NOLVIK 1P, HARRY 1P and RANAV 1P). Where no propeller SID exists, the traffic may be cleared via normal FMS/RNAV SID. During daytime ( local time) the traffic may also be cleared to 4000 ft on a heading coordinated with the receiving TMC sector. Departure gap To make room for a departure between arriving aircraft, TWR shall request a departure gap from the TMC sector which is responsible for final approach. When TWR requests a departure gap, TMC will increase separation between arriving aircraft to 6 NM. Departure procedures TWR shall take the following into account when giving instructions for departing traffic which is not following SID: General: RWY 03: RWY 21: No turns before distance 2 NM, max IAS 210 kt. Minimum turning altitude 1000 ft. Minimum turning altitude 900 ft. Departure sequence TWR communicates the current departure sequence by updating the EST in the DEP list. 5

6 Transfer of communication According to the AIP, when passing 2000 ft the pilot shall contact Göteborg TMC on the indicated frequency, or depending on RWY/SID. TWR shall inform about the correct frequency unless the standard frequency is in use, and should also in other cases remind the pilot, as many pilots are not aware of this AIP instruction ( WHEN AIRBORNE CONTACT... ). Note also that TWR must transfer all departures which would normally go to (sector W) to (sector E) when only sector E is open. Departing VFR Departing VFR traffic shall request start-up from DEL and taxi from GND. Clearance is given by TWR at the holding position or during taxi. Clearance is given to a maximum altitude of 1500 ft, unless otherwise coordinated with TMC. TWR informs the traffic about the appropriate TMC frequency when leaving the CTR. 6
