That recognisable, confident smile sits proudly below a V-shaped bonnet and streamlined front grille. These elements are balanced by elegantly-contoured headlights. When viewed from the side, the New Golf looks agile and athletic, featuring the characteristic, bold, signature C-pillar. It is undeniably more elegant, sporty and sophisticated. The signature character or tornado line now runs below the door handles and is sharper and more precise, giving the New Golf a stylish finesse. The interior is quite simply way ahead of its class. It is not only more spacious but has all-new ergonomic seating, whilst upgraded air-conditioning keeps the cabin cool and comfortable. Every detail has been considered and then re-considered with a more spacious and crafted interior that incorporates the most luxurious fabrics, softtouch plastics and premium quality materials, and not to mention the shape of the gearshift knob which has been customised to perfectly fit into the human hand. The centre console has been angled towards the driver and has been intuitively designed for ease of use. The New Golf interior is exceptionally crafted and the lines flow seamlessly. The Comfortline and Highline are both equipped with standard two-way lumbar support on the driver and front passenger seats. Airbags With the most prolific generation-ongeneration improvements to active and passive safety innovations, the New Golf is one of the safest cars ever built. Seven airbags standard, a new generation braking system incorporating ABS, ESP with EDL, and an epic range of new driver assistance innovations provide ultimate peace of mind. The New Golf s groundbreaking safety and assistance innovations have been acknowledged in its 5-star Euro NCAP Safety rating, where its standard Multi-Collision brake system was also recognised as a pioneering safety innovation. The futuristic Multi-Collision Braking System automatically engages when the vehicle is involved in an accident in order to significantly reduce vehicle speed, helping to avoid secondary collisions. In addition, the New Golf was awarded four Innovation Awards by Euro NCAP for its significant advancements in safety credentials. Front airbags include passenger airbag deactivation and a knee airbag on the driver s side. A curtain airbag system for both front and rear passengers, with side airbags in front. Seven airbags in total, provide safety for all the precious human cargo. Standard across the range are active safety systems like the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), which literally keeps you on the road when under or over steering, or when taking corrective action due to a road hazard. Incorporating Anti-Spin Regulation (ASR), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, Engine Drag Torque Control (EDTC) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) with Electronic Transverse Lock (XDS), the ESP detects when conditions have caused you to lose control of your vehicle and engages accordingly to keep you safely on the road. Cruise Control with Speed Limiter* Set a maximum speed when you re cruising on a long trip and Cruise Control will display a warning light when you travel faster than the set speed. Even if greater pressure is exerted on the accelerator, the set speed is not exceeded. * Optional on Trendline Park Assist 2.0 Park Assist 2.0 offers assisted parallel as well as perpendicular parking. The optional system detects a large enough parking space and after putting the vehicle into reverse, all the driver has to do is operate the accelerator and brake. The car takes care of the rest and steers itself into the parking. Park Assist 2.0 High Beam Control Light Assist* Via a camera on the windscreen, the High Beam Control Light Assist system analyses the traffic ahead, as well as oncoming traffic. The system then automatically dips the main light beam to avoid blinding other road users.
