Asking for something is simple. You need the key words for a - un uno una or un - plus per favore please. Here s how you might order a cappuccino: Un cappuccino per favore Now try asking for the drinks from this list: caffè 0,80 sprite 1,05 cappuccino 1,15 birra 2,75 amaro 0,95 aranciata 1,10 succo di frutta 2,30 cioccolata 1,25 b) Practise prices. Unlike the old lira, the word for euro stays the same in Italian even when there are two or more. 2,10 is due euro (e) dieci centesimi. You may also hear a shortened version: due e dieci. If you need to brush up your numbers, there s a list on p. 239 of the book. Now play the part of the waiter. Using the menu, give the customers their drinks and tell them what to pay.
