HCG Protocol Will HCG Make Me Lose Weight No Matter What I Eat? No. For the HCG Protocol to properly work, you must comply with a regimented menu of specific foods. Any deviation from the authorized food list will impact your weight loss. How Does using HCG result in weight loss? Thousands of calories in stored fat are released and are used by the body or expelled. To keep the fat cells from immediately taking in more fat, a very low calorie diet is necessary. Women produce high levels of HCG while pregnant which causes no ill effects. In fact, doctors use HCG to help women experiencing hormonal issues or fertility problems. Researchers have found that HCG can help both men and women burn fat and aid in the mobilization of fat as fuel in the body. Is it healthy to lose 1 to 2 pounds a day with HCG injections? HCG weight loss studies have shown that weight lost following the HCG protocol comes directly from adipose fat tissue rather than lean muscle. In doing so, the weight lost comes directly from fat and does not strip the body of much needed muscle, vitamins or minerals essential to maintain good health, while at the same time, releasing excessive amounts of fat-stored nutrients into the blood stream to be absorbed by the body. For this reason, HCG dieters report a feeling and appearance of great health and marvel at the loss of negative health risks they had as an overweight individual. Why is it necessary to follow a 500 calorie diet on the HCG diet protocol? The HCG diet shots cause your hypothalamus to mobilize the fat out of the fat storage locations so that it s available for use. While you are only consuming 500 calories, your hypothalamus is continually releasing the fat stored in your body. Because of this, your body is actually operating on thousands of calories a day. This is the reason why HCG dieters lose 1 to 2 lbs or fat or more per day.
Will I lose Faster if I Eat Less Than 500 calories per day? You don't want to do that. If you eat less than 500 calories, the body can go into starvation mode which initiates an energy conservation directive which slows down metabolism and your fat loss subsides. So, make sure that you are eating your full 500 calories and that they are made up of the prescribed foods. Don't skip eating, even if you don't feel hungry. Why do I have to eat a lot during the first two days and what should I eat? The first two days of each program are important days. These prime the HCG pump. You will need to eat foods with high fat content. (Some suggestions include: pasta with Alfredo sauce, cheesecake, berries with heavy cream on them.) You do not need to eat until you feel like you are going to throw up. However, if you do not eat a lot of calories during these first two days, you may experience greater hunger the first week or so. Spread the calories out throughout the day. Will I gain the weight back after the HCG diet? At Vidabem Treatment Centers our goal is to help you reach your weight loss goal safely and to keep the weight off. Through education and motivation this diet will get you in the habit of making the right choices and adopting a healthy lifestyle. After the HCG diet, you will find your appetite has changed, your eating behavior will be changed and your body will have changed. This is the perfect opportunity to continue that healthy lifestyle to maintain your weight. You will find that a little exercise will be sufficient for maintaining a very healthy body. With your hypothalamus reset, your metabolism will be different and you will be able to eat moderately without feeling the need to overeat. After the patient concludes the diet and transitions into normal eating habits, the body will naturally restock its normal fat reserve. This, coupled with a natural building of muscle tissue can account for about 8 to 12 pounds of weight, and should minimally impact inches. What happens if I eat something that is not on the list? You will likely not see a loss the following day. Strict adherence to the specific diet is crucial to the success of the program.
Why are people not hungry on this diet? The HCG helps to release fat from fat stores. The body will release as much as the body needs to support itself. The calories released are even in excess of the need, helping to stave off the feeling of hunger. Is HCG an appetite suppressant? HCG is not an appetite suppressant. However, as it works on the hypothalamus to release stored fat, those extra calories in the bloodstream help to provide a feeling of satiety and prevent hunger pangs. Can I use balsamic vinegar? Some balsamic vinegars have sugar in them. This is not recommended. A variety without sugar is fine. What popular restaurants can I go to? Multiple patients have said they can follow the diet at Red Lobster: grilled fish and vegetables, Chili s: broiled tilapia or a child s portion of chicken and steamed vegetables, Appleby s grilled fish. You can always ask the kitchen to grill meats without oils. Patients have been really creative while eating out. Should I take a multi-vitamin/multi-mineral during the program? We believe it is vital to take a daily multi-vitamin/multi-mineral, preferably a whole foods vitamin. Will drinking more water help me lose more weight? Some patients relate drinking more water with losing more weight. It is an easy thing to try and it might help. Just be sure to drink the water at intervals spaced throughout the day. Do not drink your water all in one or two sittings.
What happens if I feel dizzy or light-headed during the day? This may mean that your blood sugar is too low. You should eat something from the food list. Maybe try one of the vegetables of which you can have as much as you want. You may eat your apple or a cracker. If this happens frequently and is not relieved by eating/drinking, please call the office for further evaluation and troubleshooting ideas. This may also be a result of low blood pressure. What can I do for constipation? Constipation in this situation means that you gone more than three days without having a bowel movement and/or having a bowel movement are difficult due to hard, dry stools. There are several things you can try for constipation. Increasing the amount of MCT Oil used may help. Adding a soluble fiber such as psyllium powder to a glass of water per day will usually do the trick. Also, Increase your water intake. This is beneficial in many ways while you are on the program. If that does not help, there are a few herbal teas that have helped others in the past. Try Dieter s Tea or Smooth Move Tea. Both can be purchased at most grocery stores. Steep each of the teas for a short time the first time you try it. If the tea is too strong it can cause abdominal cramping. Licorice tea may work for some people. You may also try Cascara Sagrada. This is also an herbal supplement that acts as a natural laxative. If you are really having trouble, call the office. You may need to take a different oral laxative or give yourself an enema. I am having bowel movements less frequently. Is that normal? Because your food intake has decreased significantly, it is normal to also have a decrease in frequency of bowel movements. One every two to three days is considered normal. If you go longer than 3 days, you would likely benefit from one of the suggestions for relieving constipation. (See above) Is HCG the Cure for obesity? HCG is not simply a cure for obesity, but helps to repair the most vital aspects of the metabolism. When this is done, the body identifies the excess weight as extra weight and begins burning it. After the weight is lost, because the metabolism is reset your base weight or 'set point' is also reset.
What is HCG? HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a hormone present in both men and women, but which is produced in great amounts in pregnant females. During pregnancy, the substance almost completely controls the woman s metabolic functions. In non-pregnant persons, research shows that HCG similarly increases the metabolism similar to a pregnant female. Although HCG is associated with pregnancy, it can safely be used by both men and women that are looking to get their weight under control. HCG is also prescribed by doctors as a fertility medication (for both men and women), or to restore testosterone production in men. Is it safe to use HCG? Yes. Although it has not yet been approved for weight loss, HCG is an all natural hormone that has been approved by the FDA for other medical purposes. In order to ensure your safety, Doctor Johnson requires detailed medical information before he will prescribe HCG for the patient. The required information can be submitted to the doctor via our online intake form. What should I do if I am running low on HCG? It's not likely that you will run short on HCG. The pharmacy has given extra to ensure that this will not happen. If you are concerned about this, please call the office. Also remember that HCG stays in the system for about 2 days, and making sure that you get the correct amount throughout the week is important. Where does HCG come from? HCG is found naturally in a woman s body during pregnancy. HCG is released into the blood stream by the placenta, and is detected in pregnant women's urine. Pregnancy test strips give a positive indication when exposed to HCG. The level of HCG in a pregnant woman far exceeds the amount required for the HCG Diet protocol. Does HCG Lose Potency? The pharmacy suggests that the patient use their HCG within 30 to 60 days from the time it is reconstituted (mixed with sterile water).
Should HCG be kept in the refrigerator? HCG should be kept in the fridge in order to maintain its efficacy. What if I left my HCG out of the fridge all day? Technically, HCG can be left out of the fridge at room temperature for up to 2 days without any negative effect. Remembering to keep it in the fridge at all times other than when it is being used is the best to ensure that it will remain effective until the expiration date. What if I need to travel? How do I transport my HCG? If you will be traveling for an extended period of time, you can take dry HCG and mixing diluents with you to reconstitute when you reach your destination. If you will be traveling for less than 48 yours at a time, you can simply pack your liquid HCG in a baggie with your toiletries, without any problem. It is never a bad idea to have an extra vial of dry HCG packed away, in case of mishap or loss. This is good advice for any prescription drug you are taking with you. Do I need a prescription to travel with my HCG on a plane? Many people have traveled with HCG and have not had any trouble. If you are concerned about this, ask us for a note indicating that you are under their care and are taking daily HCG injections. Alternatively, you can take your bottle with your prescription sticker on it as evidence. Why is the dose the same for each person regardless of their weight? The theory is that amount of HCG given to each person is able to release as many calories as the body needs no matter the size and caloric need of the body in question. Certain heavier individuals may need more as prescribed by a physician.
