Transparency increases safety in public places and the impressive views on a journey through the building can be a highlight of the day for your tenants and visitors alike. Glass wall can be located in positions 1, 2, C1, CX, C2, D1 or D2. Full width glass is available only in the back wall. For side walls only partial width glass is available in positions 1, 2, D1, D2. KONE Visual Shaft Kit Glass has become an increasingly important component in the façades of modern buildings. When combined with glass lift shafts, architects can provide passengers with a new kind of scenic lift experience. One drawback of glass shafts, however, is that the lift car s exterior, which is not always very appealing, is on full display. KONE can provide a range of Visual Solutions to enhance the appearance of your glass lift shaft, including cladding for some of the visible components and specially painted components that have been developed specifically for cars that run in glass shafts. When creating your customised faceplate you can either use a KONE design as the basis or create a unique look with your own patterns, graphics and colours. Why choose a customised CO? Reflect your building s overall design dd a stylish, user-friendly informative text field Choose from a wide range of faceplate colours and patterns Include corporate logos and custom graphics Specify the button layout for additional passenger guidance Design your custom faceplate in a few simple steps with the help of a KONE sales representative, who will take you through all the available options for colours, patterns, graphics, the tenant directory and button layouts. Custom faceplates are both stylish and durable thanks to KONE s advanced, high-resolution printing technology. Graphics are printed on the reverse of the faceplate to protect them from fading and wear and tear. ll it takes is three simple steps Create the tenant directory Define the button layout dd the tenant names. You can add up to three lines of text for each floor button. The buttons can be centred, in either one or two columns, or they can be non-centred. Having two columns of buttons is especially useful with a through-type lift, where the position of the buttons indicates which door to use. Choose the faceplate graphics Choose a faceplate design: Select either a KONE graphic or design your own. Then choose the CO type -either full or partial height -and its location. Then choose the number of floors required. It s as easy as that. The KONE Design template will be available in dobe Illustrator (ai) format. 26

31 Configured to meet your needs KONE olaris Destination Control System (DCS) is available in two configurations, making it easier to tailor the system to the individual needs of your building. Hybrid DCS configuration With the Hybrid DCS configuration, the Destination Operating anels (DOs) are located only on the main floors, while other floors have conventional landing signalisation. Cars have a conventional car operating panel. This configuration is particularly beneficial for improving traffic flow from heavily used floors like the main entrance floor. It is very useful in buildings with heavy up-peaks and buildings with large mid-building restaurants. For modernisation projects, this configuration is a highly cost-effective way to improve traffic flow in buildings with up-peak deficiencies. Traditional DCS configuration With the traditional DCS configuration, the DOs are on all floors and consequently there are no destination buttons on the car operating panel. s the DCS configuration receives complete passenger origin and destination information from all floors, it is able to provide the best service for all traffic conditions the up-peak, the lunchtime rush and the down-peak, as well as quieter periods.
