Internal Affairs Municipalities The rehabilitation and reinsertion process starts in prison and is sustained in our 3 reinsertion centers (Bourj Brajneh, Saida and Tripoli) 2 years after their release from prison. MCL targets the rehabilitation and social reinsertion of juvenile offenders. In prison, our action focuses on educational and psychological strategies to raise the juveniles awareness to their rights and provide them with literacy tuitions, sanitary and social skills, psychological and judicial support. In the reinsertion centers (Bourj Brajneh, Saida
2 and Tripoli) we help the juveniles acquire technical skills, seek jobs and sustain their livelihood. We also provide support to their families in order to improve family cohesion and dynamics. The disabled children need on-going rehabilitation services, home adaptation, and orthopaedic assessment and/or surgery to improve their functional abilities. The NGOs need training and facility upgrading. A new service will be developed for disabled children in Rashidieh camp.
11 Movimiento por la Paz, el Desrame y la Libertad Jean-Christophe Saint- Country MPDL Esteben Coordinator Project 961 (0) mpdl@cyberia.net.lb Children from Nabatyeh who experienced the crisis of July August 2006 receive psychosocial support within their education and improved social facilities Start Date: End Date: The target group is Lebanese children who live EMDH; INTERSOS;TdH in the Nabatyeh area and who experienced the Swizerland;NRC;HI;ACTED;PU;WV; conflict in Lebanon during July August The specific target group is children who attend schools and Basic Social Centers of the Ministry of Social Affairs, of villages where children were killed during the conflict and/or those who live in areas where more than 25% of the homes were destroyed. These children will require support to rebuild their lives and normalize their daily schedules following this period of conflict. A variety of psychosocial support programmes will be implemented for this target group. Project activities will also include the teachers and recreation officers who work with these children and volunteers (including the parents of children).
