Time allowed 1 hour 30 minutes Instructions Use black ink or black ball-point pen. Write the information required on the front of your answer book. The Paper Reference is Answer four questions. Each question has five parts. Do all rough work in your answer book. Cross through any work that you do not want to be marked. Information The marks for questions are shown in brackets. The maximum mark for this paper is 76. Four of these marks are for Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG). This will be assessed in parts 05, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30. The mark is shown below the mark allocation for each question. You will be awarded a mark for Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG) for each of the four questions that you attempt. The best of these marks will be included in your total for the paper. You will be marked on your ability to: use good English organise information clearly use specialist vocabulary where appropriate. 2 2 Answer four questions. There are 18 marks for each question. Each question has five parts. Answer all five parts of each question chosen. There are four additional marks on the paper for Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG). Question 1 Religion and Animal Rights Look at the photograph. 0 1 Name two different sports in which animals are used. 0 2 Describe what religious believers might do to help to protect wildlife. 0 3 Religious believers should never support using animals for work. 0 4 Explain why some religious believers think that human life is more valuable than animal life. Refer to religious beliefs and teachings in your answer. 0 5 There is nothing wrong with experimenting on animals.

It shows a forest being cut down. 0 6 Give two examples of the effects of deforestation. 0 7 Describe what religious believers might do to reduce pollution. 0 8 International action is more important than following religious teachings about planet Earth. 0 9 Explain religious attitudes to the use of the Earth s natural resources. 1 0 Having a good lifestyle is more important than caring for the planet. It shows a person campaigning for women s rights. 1 1 Give two examples of the effects of prejudice. 1 2 Explain why many religious believers are against discrimination. 1 3 A person who is true to their religious beliefs would never be prejudiced. 1 4 Describe the work of a religious believer who has fought against prejudice. 1 5 Most prejudice is caused by ignorance.

It shows a mother-to-be holding an ultrasound image of her unborn baby. 1 6 Give two different ideas religious people might have about when human life begins. 1 7 Explain why many religious believers see children as a gift from God. 1 8 Religious believers should encourage adoption rather than abortion. 1 9 Explain the conditions in UK Law that are used to decide if a legal abortion can take place. 2 0 Abortion should be allowed only if the mother s life is in danger. It shows a military hospital. 2 1 Explain what religious believers might do to help victims of war. 2 2 Give two examples of conflicts between countries. 2 3 Holy Wars should not happen. 2 4 Explain why some religious believers are pacifists. Refer to religious beliefs and teachings in your answer. 2 5 There can never be peace everywhere in the world.

It shows children in a school. 2 6 Give two examples of rights that a young person has. 2 7 Describe one activity led by a faith group which teaches young people about their religion. 2 8 School assemblies should be religious. 2 9 Explain the importance of parents in guiding a child to make the right decisions.
