This release of Smart View is an English only release. New Features For information and instructions, please see Documentation Updates on page 7. Hyperion Enterprise Support Smart View supports Hyperion Enterprise as a data source. Reporting and Analysis PowerPoint Templates You can create PowerPoint reusable templates that contain one or more Reporting and Analysis reports. You can later open and refresh these templates to obtain the latest reports. 1
Hyperion Smart View for Office Release Readme Data Display Options You can now enter replacement text for #Invalid/Meaningless errors, where the data in the intersection is invalid for certain valid metadata combinations. In addition, the #NumericZero option has been enhanced. ( ) Spreading Option The new Fill option for spreading data for time periods on Planning forms works as follows: When the Time Balance property is set to Fill for a member, a value set at the parent time period is filled into all its descendents. For example, if a value of 20 is entered for a year dimension with descendents quarter and month, then all months and all quarters are filled with 20, for, say, an account member whose Time Balance is set to Fill. Likewise, a value entered for a quarter is filled into its children months. If a child value changes, the default aggregation logic applies up to its parent. This feature is only supported with Planning release and later. ( ) New Financial Management Migration Options New options are available for migrating Financial Management functions to Smart View. 6 Hyperion Smart View for Office Release Readme Known Issues General Smart View for Office 2007 is not backward compatible. Smart View projects created in Office 2007 cannot be opened in earlier versions of Office. ( ) (Office 2007 only) When you close a worksheet that contains a POV, the POV incorrectly remains displayed. ( , ) (Office 2007 only) In free form mode, you cannot submit saved data without first refreshing. ( , ) Do not use spaces in the INSTALLDIR definition in silent installations; otherwise, the Hyperion menu will not appear. For example, the space in Program Files below would cause this problem. ( ) smartview /s/v"/qn" Smartview.exe /s /v /qn INSTALLDIR=\ C:\Program Files\Hyperion\Smartview\ When you enter #NumericZero in the #No Access Label field in the Options dialog box, the text #NumericZero is incorrectly displayed in cells to which the user has no access rather than numeric zeroes. This happens only when you use the HsGetValue function. ( ) (Windows 2000 Pro with Office 2003 SP3 only) When you copy data points from Excel and paste into Word, Excel terminates abruptly if you then select Refresh All. ( ) When you refresh a PowerPoint template, two blank slides are incorrectly inserted into the beginning of the slice deck. ( ) Hyperion Enterprise If filters are applied to multiple organizations users must select the organization that contains the entity for the Find function to work. ( ) In an ad hoc grid, you can perform consolidation or calculation tasks using only the default frequency specified under category attributes in Hyperion Enterprise. For example, if the category Actual is set to a default frequency monthly, then monthly is the only frequency you can use. ( ) In the Function Builder you cannot use numbers for Period labels. ( ) If you uninstall Hyperion Enterprise, you must first uninstall the Hyperion Enterprise Office provider. Otherwise, you receive an error. ( ) If you select [None] under Filter on the Member Selection dialog box, [None] is added to the name of the member under Members when you select or clear Use Descriptions. ( , ) Cell colors in Smart View worksheets may be lost after you perform certain operations, such as saving and reopening the worksheet. This behavior is intermittent. ( ) 6
Hyperion Smart View for Office Release Readme If a consolidation takes more than an hour, you may get an invalid pointer error. You must then reconnect to the application. ( ) After you paste data points, Visualize in Excel works only for a single cell. ( , ) If you use Copy Data Points from an ad hoc grid for an organization by period application, you will not be able to change the dimensions if you use Paste Data Points in Powerpoint or Word. ( , ) The tabular format is not preserved when you copy and paste data points within Word or PowerPoint. ( , ) Copying name and description-enabled data points from an Excel ad hoc grid or Default Grid to Word changes the rows into columns. ( , ) Hyperion Enterprise data sources must have a password to establish a connection in Smart View. ( , ) When you migrate data from Hyperion Retrieve to Smart View, if the Hyperion Retrieve sheet contains periods represented as numbers, for example 1 for January, and frequencies (View) represented in the required format, for example, M.CTD, then the values present in the Hyperion Retrieve sheet are migrated as present in the Hyperion Retrieve sheet, unless you choose to change the data presentation format of periods and frequencies using the Function Builder available in Smart View. ( ) When accessing forms in Smart View, use View Instruction to display the name of the form along with the description. ( ) Financial Management If you modify the decimal separator setting on the International tab of the Excel Options dialog box (Tools > Options), then connect to an application and restore to the original setting (.), data is lost on the form when you refresh. ( ) Defects Fixed in This Release If Smart View and Essbase Excel add-ins are installed, Excel may terminate abruptly when you modify an Excel cell. ( ) Change in behavior: You can refresh protected worksheets that contain only HSGetValue functions (comments are permitted). Note: if you want to save the worksheet, you must select Edit Objects on the Excel Protect Sheet dialog box (Tools > Protection); this is not necessary for refreshing the worksheet (applies only to Excel 2003 and earlier versions). For this functionality, you can use Refresh or Refresh All from the Hyperion menu, Smart View toolbar, and the HypMenuVRefresh and HypMenuVRetrieve VBA functions. HypRetrieve and HypRetrieveRange do not work here. ( ) When all dimensions are on the grid and none are on the Point of View, you cannot get a drill-through report. Instead, you get an incorrect No drill throught reports found at this location error. ( ) 7
Hyperion Smart View for Office Release Readme When a user has Total Using for a measure set to Server and the view contains a nonslicing filter and grand totals or subtotals, then the totals are not supressed but are filled in by special queries to the server. With respect to ratios and averages, the totals display, as expected, the average of all values and not the total of the averages. ( , ) When you try to run Hyperion Visual Explorer in Smart View, retrieving a grid takes too long and may result in an out of memory error. ( , ) Single Sign On does not work properly when you use Hyperion Visual Explorer with Smart View. ( , ) On French operating systems, Smart View cannot connect to Shared Services. ( , ) When SmartView is active and the worksheet is protected, you get the error message, ''Drawing Objects in one or more sheet(s) in the workbook are protected. Please unprotect them and try to save again.'' ( ) In Smart View with Use Excel Formatting selected, when you retrieve data from Essbase, formatting is maintained as expected but disappears when you submit the data back to Essbase. ( , ) If you protect an Excel worksheet then install Smart View and work on a different sheet in the workbook, you get an error if you try to save the work.( , ) If Smart View has been installed on a client machine via silent installation, the Hyperion menu is not displayed in Word or PowerPoint; it is displayed properly in Excel. ( ) If Smart View has been installed on a client machine via silent installation, the Hyperion menu is not displayed the next time a user logs in. ( , ) If you do not define INSTALLDIR as a parameter for silent installation, Smart View installs on the largest available drive on the system. ( ) The Smart View installer writes plugin registry entries for Word and Powerpoint in the HKEY_Current_User registry instead of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. As a result, silent installation does not work. ( ) The ability to uninstall Smart View from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel is available only to the one who installed Smart View. For users whose Smart View was installed by silent installation, Smart View does not appear as an entry in Add/Remove Program. ( ) When you drag a dimension from an ad hoc grid to the POV toolbar, the dimension is not displayed until after you refresh. ( ) In the Smart View Function Builder, the HsDescription Dimension dropdown menu appears to be editable when it is not. ( ) In the Smart view Function Builder, when you add a function, the Validate Syntax should be enabled, but instead you have to press the Tab bar twice to enable it. ( ) 8
Hyperion Smart View for Office Release Readme If you try to copy a worksheet tab in Excel when Smart View is enabled, Excel terminates abruptly. ( ) Clicking on any options under ad hoc analysis displays an invalid XML request error in Microsoft Word 2007 and PowerPoint ( , ) Clicking on Member Selection in Word or PowerPoint displays an error. Since member selection is not supported for Word or PowerPoint, Member Selection should not be available for selection. ( , ) Changing the Scale value in the Display tab of the Options dialog box may cause incorrect values to be displayed in the spreadsheet. ( , ) When you open a saved Excel workbook that contains a formula, data cells display zeroes rather than the correct values. ( ) When you add a formula that generates #DIV/0! in an ad hoc grid, you get an error when you refresh the worksheet. With this fix, the last correct value in the cell is submitted. ( ) Copying a data cell from one worksheet to another does not work. ( ) When you loop the function HypVRefresh for multiple worksheets, data is refreshed on the first ten to twenty worksheets; thereafter, refreshing fails to work. ( ) When you use HypRetrieveRange to refresh data, Smart View copies formulas from Excel cells that are above or left of the retrieved range. ( ) When Smart View is active in Excel and you open an Excel workbook that contains links to another workbook, you may get an internal error ( ) Planning On German operating systems, when you add a formula to a Planning data form in Smart View, you get a blank error message box. ( , ) When you open a Planning Web Form containing a business rule in Smart View, a list of business rules is displayed each time you save data even though Run on Save, Use Members on Form, and Hide Prompt are selected for the business rule. ( ) Financial Management If you have two HFMVAL functions embedded inside parentheses, the Smart View conversion utility converts only the first HFMVAL function. If you remove the parentheses, it converts both functions. ( ) In Smart View, when you run HypGetDataPoint with the vtcell parameter defined as a cell reference to a data point in the grid, Excel may terminate abruptly. ( ) When Smart view is connected to Financial Management, double-clicking in a worksheet does not open the default grid as expected. In addition, other ad hoc operations such as Copy Data Points do not work. ( ) In Financial Management, the migration utility drops any leading zeroes, making the result invalid. ( ) 9
Hyperion Smart View for Office Release Readme In Financial Management, during spreadsheet conversion or migration, formulas that contain AP# do not work. ( ) In Financial Management, functions that contain PR# do not work. ( ) In Financial Management, changing the value of Scale on the Display tab of the Options dialog box may cause incorrect results to be returned after you refresh the data. ( , ) In Financial Management, changing the value of Scale on the Display tab of the Options dialog box may cause incorrect values to be submitted to the database. ( , ) Documentation Updates The following information will be documented in the Smart View User s Guide in an upcoming release. Creating Templates in PowerPoint Documents You can create PowerPoint template documents by importing one or more Financial Reporting reports to the presentation. Every Create Template action creates a new PowerPoint slide with a report name to show where it will be placed when Refresh Template is used. The template PowerPoint presentation can be saved for future use. To create a template: 1. Open PowerPoint. 2. Select Hyperion, then Connection Manager, and connect to a Reporting and Analysis provider. 3. Select Hyperion, then Reporting and Analysis Document, then Create Template. 4. From Import Workspace Document, select a Financial Reporting document. Optional: To import all pages of the document, select All Pages. A separate slide is created for each page. To import the current screen presentation, clear All Pages. To use the Workspace point of view, select Refresh Using Workspace Point of View. 5. Click OK. The document is imported into the PowerPoint presentation. Refreshing PowerPoint Templates When you refresh a template, it is replaced by a new presentation, and each of the Financial Reporting reports it contains is replaced by the current Financial Reporting report using the current Workspace Point of View. 10
Hyperion Smart View for Office Release Readme To refresh a template: 1. Open the PowerPoint presentation containing the template. 2. Select Hyperion, then Connection Manager, and connect to a Reporting and Analysis provider. 3. Select Hyperion, then Reporting and Analysis Document, then Refresh Template. 4. Edit and save the PowerPoint presentation as needed. Data Display Options #Invalid/Meaningless Error Replacement Text In the Options dialog box (Hyperion > Options > Display tab), in addition to #No data\missing and #No access Replacement text fields, you can now enter text for #Invalid/Meaningless errors, where the data in the intersection is invalid for certain valid metadata combinations. #NumericZero Enhancements To display a numeric zero in place of an error message, you can enter #NumericZero in any of the three Replacement text fields. When you use the #NumericZero option: Excel formatting for the cell is retained. All calculations with dependency on the cell will compute correctly and will take the value of this cell as zero. This numeric zero is for display only. When you submit, the zero value is NOT submitted back to the data source. You cannot set display strings for cells that contain an invalid member or dimension name (metadata error). Metadata errors produce standard descriptive error messages. Errors are prioritized in the following order from highest to lowest. The error message for a higher-priority error takes precedence over that for a lower-priority error. 1. (Highest) Metadata errors 2. #No access 3. #Invalid/Meaningless 4. #No data\missing New Function Migration Options for Financial Management In Financial Management, you can now select a connection or connection reference for functions that do not contain an application reference when you migrate to Smart View. 1. Select Hyperion, then Functions, then Function Builder, then Migrate Active Connections (HFM). 2. From Function Migration Application reference, select one of the following options: 11
Hyperion Smart View for Office Release Readme 3. Click OK. More Information a. Do not update functions with a connection reference: migrates existing functions without modification. b. Add connection name to existing functions: updates all functions with a specified connection name. Select a connection from the Connection Name dropdown list. c. Update functions with reference to connection list within selected worksheet: Updates all functions with a cell reference in the current worksheet. In Cell Reference, enter the cell to reference, for example, A2. d. Update functions with reference to connection list on a new worksheet: Updates all functions with a cell reference to a different worksheet in the workbook. Enter the Cell Reference and the new Worksheet name. For options c and d, users can create a drop down list in any cell on the worksheet to be used as a reference: select Hyperion, then Functions, then Insert Connection List to display a list of connections from which to choose in the current cell. This cell may be used as reference within functions to refer to a connection name. Launch Excel and select Hyperion > Connection Manager to connect to Reporting and Analysis. 6. From Upgrade Smart View for Office, click Apply Now. 7. From File Download, click Open to start the installation. 8. Close Excel and all other Microsoft Office applications. When the installation is complete, you may be prompted to restart your computer, after which you see a new version of Smart View in the Hyperion > About screen. Known Issues When you copy and paste data points from Excel to Word or PowerPoint, Excel may terminate abruptly. Workaround: Launch Excel and close. ( ) Adding blank rows or columns to the Query worksheet which result in an invalid query while connected to Hyperion Financial Management may result in an abnormal termination. ( ) 4
When you select the Range filter and Generation is set to 0, all level 0 members are listed instead of members from the selected range. ( ) Populating cells using the Excel autofill feature to submit data does not work properly in Smart View. ( ) The Help button for Cell Text in Smart View opens the wrong help topic. Workaround: open the online help from the Hyperion menu and search for Cell Text. ( ) When installing on Vista, you are not prompted for administrator privileges at the beginning of installation as expected. Instead, you get an error message during installation that you do not have sufficient privileges. Workaround: right-click smartview.exe and select Run as administrator. You will then be prompted to supply administrator credentials. ( ) When Use Excel Formatting is selected in the Options dialog box, performing Undo removes grid formatting. ( ) Function links are not automatically updated in spreadsheets that are shared. This is an Excel limitation. ( ) If you enter a function into a cell after editing but before refreshing the grid, it becomes free-form mode and the displayed data cannot be submitted. ( ) Undo functionality in data forms is limited to data changes only. ( ) When you change the alias table, comments and formulas may not retain their position in the grid after you refresh. ( ) In some cases, a summary time period is not calculated correctly by a formula if the formula references a value whose position changes in the grid when you redesign the form ( ) Processing SmartView functions cell by cell so that you can reference the result from the other is not currently supported. ( ) In operating systems other than English, the decimal separator key in the Function Builder data textbox does not work for HsSetValue. Workaround: use the keyboard to enter the decimal separator. ( ) Copy/paste does not work when all dimensions are on the grid and the POV is empty. Workaround: keep one dimension in the POV for copy/paste. ( ) If you attempt to delete the POV toolbar using Excel's Customize Toolbar functionality (via View > Tools > Customize), Excel terminates abruptly. ( ) Essbase For Essbase databases, if an alias table is added after you are connected to a sheet, you must exit Excel and reconnect to Smart View to view the new alias table. ( ) 5
If Suppress Underscore Character is selected, running a query results in an error. ( ) In non-unique outlines, changing an alias table results in the correct change in dimension names but not in member names. ( ). Smart View retrieves return zeros in all cells. This is related to The Windows 2003 network socket TcpTimedWaitDelay. (SR ). Fix: Planning 1. Using the regedit command, access the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Services\TCPIP\Parameters registry subkey, and create a new REG_DWORD value named TcpTimedWaitDelay. 2. Set the value to decimal 30, which is Hex 0x e. This value sets the wait time to 30 seconds. 3. Using the regedit command, access the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Services\TCPIP\Parameters registry subkey, and create a new REG_DWORD value named MaxUserPort. 4. Set this value to at least decimal Stop and restart your system. Planning does not support the use of Microsoft Word or PowerPoint. Business rules created in Planning may behave differently offline and online; they should behave the same in both modes. ( ) In some cases, values calculated by formula overwrite enumeration values. ( ) STP is not recalculated if Suppress #Missing is selected and supporting details are deleted. ( ) Dynamically calculated members on a data form are not displayed in offline mode. ( ) To ensure that the Smart View Take Offline Wizard works with Windows Vista Business Edition, you must copy the file mscomct2.ocx to the system32 directory and register the file in the system registry. For more information see Tested and Not Shipping in Windows Vista. ( ) In Business Rules, root members that fall outside the set limit should be disabled, but they are not. ( ) 6
Hyperion Financial Management The Smart View client is currently not backwards compatible to Financial Managment 9.2.x data sources. When you install Smart View on Windows Vista, you may get a warning: "Open File - Security Warning. The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?... Unknown Publisher." ( ) When you migrate an active workbook in Financial Management, functions are not migrated properly. Instead of the expected Need Refresh status, the grid is blank. To display the functions, click Refresh and they appear. ( ) To view the Supports Allocation cell style, open the Options dialog box. On the Cell Styles tab under Data, move the Supports Allocation to a higher priority than that of the Writeable style. ( ) Reporting and Analysis After you import Hyperion Web Analysis System 9 or Hyperion Financial Reporting System 9 reports as query-ready for refresh against Oracle s Hyperion Essbase - System 9, any subsequently imported fully-formatted reports cannot be refreshed in that Office session. ( ) If you have two Reporting and Analysis active connections, one of which is the default, using Refresh All in a document in the connection that is not the default may cause Excel to freeze. Workaround: make the preferred Reporting and Analysis connection the default or use a different Hyperion provider as the default connection. ( ) Pop-up blocking must be disabled for the Reporting and Analysis workspace server to enable import of Reporting and Analysis content using Smart View. ( ) When you import Web Analysis or Financial Reporting reports as query-ready for refresh against Essbase data sources, Dynamic Time Series and non-unique members are not supported. ( , ) In Word and PowerPoint the Hyperion > Reporting and Analysis Document menu items are enabled prior to activating a connection to a Reporting and Analysis provider. You must create and activate a connection before using them. When you try to import content from a job that has failed to execute, you should get an error message that the job failed to execute. Instead, the error message states that you cannot connect to the provider, which is incorrect and misleading. ( ) Financial Reporting Financial Reporting reports imported and saved using Smart View with BI cannot be refreshed after upgrading to Smart View 9.3 and BI+ 9.3 and later. (In 9.3.1, BI+ is renamed to Reporting and Analysis). To refresh you must first reimport the report. ( ) In order to import Financial Reporting content into Word and PowerPoint as images, the Oracle s Hyperion Financial Reporting System 9 Print Server must be configured with Ghost script and not Distiller. ( ) 7
Web Analysis When you import an Oracle s Hyperion Web Analysis System 9 document that contains a page with no data, you may get a message "Error accessing import data." ( ) Workspace Smart View cannot connect to an Oracle s Hyperion Workspace server configured for Oracle single sign-on. Word export files created by Hyperion SQR Production Reporting System 9 can not be viewed within the Workspace. ( ) SQR Production Reporting When importing Oracle s Hyperion SQR Production Reporting content into Excel, Word, or PowerPoint, if you are using the scroll bar on the left side of the Preview screen to navigate to different pages, then the output page number in the Page drop-down list box does not reflect the actual page you are viewing in the Preview screen. ( ) At the time of import or edit, sometimes the preview page indicates that the report has an extra page in the x of y page drop-down control. If you select the last page, the preview will position the viewer toward the bottom of the last actual page. ( ) Defects Fixed in this Release When an Excel workbook is loaded with a Planning or Oracle s Hyperion Financial Management System 9 form, using another Excel worksheet within the same workbook for native Excel usage will cause Excel to terminate abruptly. ( ) The Print POV in Smart View does not function. ( ) Reporting and Analysis Excel terminates abruptly when you import a report in query-ready format in Oracle s Hyperion Reporting and Analysis System 9. This happens when the POV is empty and you are using the default connection. Workaround: establish a connection before importing or use a new worksheet for the import. ( ) Planning Excel sheets with Reports turn black after a Planning data form is launched in a separate worksheet. This occurs when Smart View overwrites the Excel color palette to accommodate application-specific colors not supported by Excel. Workaround: Select Use Excel Formatting on the Options dialog box. ( ) If you double-click a blank worksheet while connected to an Oracle s Hyperion Planning System 9 data source, Excel may terminate abruptly. Note: Smart View does not support ad hoc functionality in Planning, but Excel should not terminate. ( ) 8
Documentation Updates The Smart View online help and User s Guide refer to the Options menu (consisting of Pivot to POV, Pivot to Row, Pivot to Column, and Select Members) on the POV toolbar. In Oracle s Hyperion Smart View for Office 9.3.1, the Options menu was removed; you can perform the actions by dragging and dropping, or selecting members via the browse button or the Dimension drop down menu in the POV toolbar. This error is contained in the Filtering Members and Working with Dynamic Time Series sections (chapter 7 of the User s Guide). ( ) Accessing Hyperion Product Documentation The most recent version of each Hyperion product guide is available for download from the Documentation area of the Oracle Technical Network (OTN) Web site ( Documentation is also available from the Oracle E-Delivery Web site ( Please note that individual product guides are available for download on the Oracle Technical Network (OTN) Web site only. When you open HTML help using Internet Explorer 7 in Microsoft Windows Vista, the initial help page displays without the Content, Index, and Search tabs. Right-click the Internet Explorer Information Bar and choose Allow Blocked Content to display the Content, Index, and Search tabs. 9

The Client Supported Client Software Note: You must follow the supported operating system requirements. 23 Windows XP Professional SP 2 Windows 2003 SP 1 Windows 2000 Professional, SP 4 Windows 2000 Server, SP 4 Hyperion Product Compatibility Matrix The following table provides a list of Hyperion products and release numbers that support Smart View Release Hyperion Product Release Financial Management , , Planning 4.1.1, 9.2, , Note: Offline Planning 9.2 or prior releases does not work with Smart View Release Essbase 7.1.6, 9.2, 9.3, Hyperion Provider Services Note: You must install Hyperion Provider Services 9.3 to work with Essbase 9.3. Reporting and Analysis Workspace 9.2, 9.3, , Known Issues Adding blank rows or columns to the Query worksheet which results in an invalid query while connected to Hyperion Financial Management may result in an abnormal termination. ( ) When you select the Range filter and Generation is set to 0, all level 0 members are listed instead of members from the selected range. ( ) 11
When Use Excel Formatting is selected in the Options dialog box, performing Undo removes grid formatting. ( ) In some cases, a summary time period is not calculated correctly by a formula if the formula references a value whose position changes in the grid when you redesign the form ( ) When deleting supporting detail items, a confirmation message should be displayed; however, it is not. ( ) Processing SmartView functions cell by cell so that you can reference the result from the other is not currently supported. ( ) (SR ) In operating systems other than English, the decimal separator key in the Function Builder data textbox does not work for HsSetValue. ( ) The Print POV in Smart View does not function. ( ) When an Excel workbook is loaded with a Planning or HFM form, using another Excel worksheet within the same workbook for native Excel usage will cause Excel to terminate abruptly. ( ) Essbase For Essbase databases, if an alias table is added after you are connected to a sheet, you must exit Excel and reconnect to Smart View to view the new alias table. ( ) If suppress underscore character is selected, running a query results in an error. ( ) In non-unique outlines, changing an alias table results in the correct change in dimension names but not in member names. ( ). 12
Because of Retrievals in Smart View return zeroes in all cells. This is related to The Windows 2003 network socket TcpTimedWaitDelay. (SR ). Fix: 6. Using the regedit command, access the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Services\TCPIP\Parameters registry subkey, and create a new REG_DWORD value named TcpTimedWaitDelay. 7. Set the value to decimal 30, which is Hex 0x e. This value sets the wait time to 30 seconds. 8. Set the value to decimal 30, which is Hex 0x e. This value sets the wait time to 30 seconds. 9. Using the regedit command, access the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Services\TCPIP\Parameters registry subkey, and create a new REG_DWORD value named MaxUserPort. 10. Set this value to at least decimal Stop and restart your system. Planning Business rules created in Planning may behave differently offline and online; they should behave the same in both modes. ( ) In some cases, values calculated by formula overwrite enumeration values. ( ) STP is not recalculated if Suppress #missing selected and supporting details are deleted. ( ) Excel sheets with Reports turn black after a Planning data form is launched in a separate worksheet. This occurs when Smart View overwrites the Excel color palette to accommodate application-specific colors not supported by Excel. Workaround: Select Use Excel Formatting on the Options dialog box. ( ) If you double-click on a blank worksheet while connected to a Planning datasource, Excel may terminate abruptly. Note: Smart View does not support ad hoc functionality in Planning, but Excel should not terminate. ( ) 13
Hyperion Financial Management The Smart View client is, currently, not backwards compatible to Hyperion Financial Managment 9.2.x data sources. ( ) Reporting and Analysis After you import Web Analysis or Financial Reporting reports as query-ready for refresh against Essbase, any subsequently imported fully-formatted reports cannot be refreshed in that Office session. ( ) When you import Web Analysis or Financial Reporting reports as query-ready for refresh against Essbase datasources, Dynamic Time Series and non-unique members are not supported. ( ) Excel terminates abruptly when you import a report in query-ready format. This happens when the POV is empty and you are using the default connection. Workaround: establish a connection before importing or use a new worksheet for the import. ( ) Financial Reporting Financial Reporting reports imported and saved using Smart View with BI cannot be refreshed after upgrading to Smart View 9.3 and BI+ 9.3 and later. 14
(In 9.3.1, BI+ is renamed to Reporting and Analysis). To refresh you must first reimport the report. ( ) In order to import Financial Reporting content into Word and PowerPoint as images, the Financial Reporting Print Server must be configured with Ghost script and not Distiller. ( ) When you import reports, numbers default to a number value and two decimal places.( ) Web Analysis When you import a Web Analysis document that contains a page with no data, you may get a message "Error accessing import data." ( ) Workspace Smart View cannot connect to a Workspace server configured for Oracle single sign-on. ( ) Word export files created by SQR can not be viewed within the Workspace. ( ) Production Reporting When importing Production Reporting content into Excel, Word, or PowerPoint, if you are using the scroll bar on the left side of the Preview screen to navigate to different pages, then the output page number in the Page drop-down list box does not reflect the actual page you are viewing in the Preview screen. ( ) At the time of import or Edit, sometimes the preview page indicates that the report has an extra page in the x of y page drop-down control. If you select the last page, the preview will position the viewer toward the bottom of the last actual page. ( ) Defects Fixed in this Release If you load a Data Form that has {Regional.[Hierarchy]} as the POV filter, Search does not work in the Member Selection dialog when you load it into Smart View. ( ) In data entry forms, the data retrieved does not always reflect the dimension specified in POV. ( ) You cannot change the alias table for a grid saved with an alias. ( ) If you use the Excel Replace All option, replaced members revert back to original name after you refresh. ( ) The Excel screen shakes during a refresh if the POV toolbar is docked. ( ) 15
Excel formatting is preserved only on refresh, not zoom and pivot operations. ( ) Essbase In HVE, the database connection is lost when you use Quick filters. ( ) Smart View may remove your sheet formatting during data submission. ( ) Planning When users attempt to run business rules which are connected to a form through SmartView, the Run Time Prompts should be pulled from the form where applicable. ( ) It should be possible to display member alias names as well as member names in the Business Rules Member Selection dialog box. ( ) When a user opens a form through Smart View, their POV should default to the one they've last used. ( ) In Business Rules, forms with Run on Save selected should be accessible from Smart View. ( ) Because Smart View does not support substitution variables, does not use the VALUE from dropdown POV selections, and fails when all runtime prompts are set to "hide," passing parameters to business rules and running business rules on save do not function. ( ) Smart View ignores the "hide prompt" option set in Business Rules properties in the Planning web. ( ) Data is not saved when you delete a value if the cell selection is partially outside the Planning webform. ( ) In business rules, shared members are repeated in dimension lists when you are selecting argument prompts ( ). The Use Members on Form option does not work correctly when chosen for the Run on Save rule. ( ) Aliases are not displayed in the Business Rules Member Selection window if the option Show Alias in Member Selection is selected. ( ) Financial Management Drilling via Smart View intermittently produces recursion of data. ( ) Reporting and Analysis In Interactive Reporting report sections containing images, the images are not imported to Excel.( ) 16
Smart View loses the session ID in the Smart View provider. ( ) Financial Reporting only: "Enhancement. During Import and Edit, documents using Grid Point of View or User Point of View always use the Point of View specified during import. Now you can revert to the Workspace Point of View by selecting Refresh Using Workspace Point of View." If a Web Analysis report contains multiple grids, only the leftmost grid appears when it is opened in Smart View. ( ) Documentation Updates Accessing Hyperion Product Documentation The most recent version of each Hyperion product guide is available for download from the Documentation area of the Oracle Technical Network (OTN) Web site ( Documentation is also available from the Oracle E-Delivery Web site ( Please note that individual product guides are available for download on the Oracle Technical Network (OTN) Web site only. The Smart View for Office User s Guide and online help contain references to Microsoft Office Smart View does not support Office 2007 in 9.3.1, but will in an upcoming release. When you open HTML help using Internet Explorer 7 in Microsoft Windows Vista, the initial help page displays without the Content, Index, and Search tabs. Right-click the Internet Explorer Information Bar and choose Allow Blocked Content to display the Content, Index, and Search tabs. In the Smart View User's Guide, "password" is listed as a parameter for HypGetConnectionInfo() (p. 135). It is no longer a parameter in ( ) In the Smart View for Office User s Guide and online help, "Under General edit and refresh behavior, the following sentence should include the underlined text: If an Edit or Refresh results in additional Workspace pages, those pages are appended to the end of the document in Office."
