17 Rehabilitation Measures General Due to the event on 11 July 2011, the EPC contract turned into a Rehabilitation project. Fast & effective support of Client by assessing the new situation on site: Comprehensive evaluation of repair works, costs and reinsurance adjustment Supporting client in negotiations with insurance companies, Contractor and OEMs Clarification of new interfaces and scopes with Contractor and OEMs Fast decisions related to Contractor / OEM s The blast induced a delay of one year and additional costs of around 23 MEuro. 17

18 Rehabilitation Measures Site Measures Close cooperation between EAC and LI teams in mixed teams Re-establishing approved and well introduced procedures (QA) Fast Track process provides a particularly close working relationship Close working relationship of EAC, LI, Contractor & OEM s: Short daily briefing of all involved parties Advanced preparation of tests with all involved parties resulting in common understanding Support in performing the commissioning programs Issuing test certificates in due time Process optimization to accelerate progressing Speeding up commissioning (restricted programs, extended working times etc.) Progress recording based on overall project schedule, enabling Site in having a clear and realistic picture. 18

19 Results Explosion date with severe damage on the entire power station Starting clearance of Unit Commencement of OC Rehabilitation GT 51/52 released for commercial operation First Synchronization of the Steam Turbine Generator Start Performance Tests Completion of the Combined Cycle Reliability Run TOC for CC Operation At the end the rehabilitation within the given framework of time and cost limitations has been very successful Unit 5 (& later unit 4) passed all tests successfully and overall TOC certificate was issued on Presently Unit 5 is one of the most reliable units of EAC and used at its full capacity. 19
