2 What MADCARGO is and its main target? It is a FORO combining Madrid Cargo Community skillfulness. This is, those professionals and companies around the whole air logistic chain, since freight origin till final destination, such as: - Exporters/Importers - Integrators - Airliners - Handling Agents - Forwarders - Governmental/Airport Agencies - Couriers - Infrastructures Companies - Customs and Inspections Bodies - University/Press members The main target is to improve the competitiveness of Madrid as an Air Cargo HUB. 2

3 1. Strategics: Combined efforts, governmental and privates, under a Consortium or Group to improve and raise, worldwide, the position of Madrid as a Cargo HUB. This Consortium has to have an ample participation from the different involved areas as well as some specific working groups. A Strategic Plan to strengthen the city and the region as an attractive place to develop economical activities in relation to industrial processes, tourism and commercial businesses, with an active and continuous Marketing Plan. PAX and Cargo volumes will be affected positively. The airport and the airlines have a specific role, to focus in a better utilization of the airport infrastructures and efficient air traffics. A Strategic Support from AENA: Before was through CLASA, today is via División Desarrollo de la Carga Aérea. 3

Operationals: - Develop and consolidate the intermodal PAX/Cargo traffics within the city and the whole region, with high quality logistic spaces or platforms, customs and inspection services, AVE, roads, etc - Good connectivity between domestic and international traffics; both, Madrid as Origin/Destination, based on the Spanish industrial and commercial activity, and Madrid as a transit HUB, based on worldwide activity. Optimization of the whole system: Road, train and air network. - The Airport is the main logistic infrastructure in Madrid. It is the HUB and it needs the full support from the local and regional Authorities. - For Cargo this support has to include specific cargo products such as Perishable, Pharma, High Value cargo, etc with efficient processes and proper technical means, infrastructures and 24H operative support, within the airport and outside of it. 4
