17 FUEL MANUFACTURING ENUSA, Industrias Avanzadas company is responsible for the supply of uranium and its processing to final processing of the fuel assembly A highly qualified team that centers its activities upon the first stage of the nuclear fuel cycle From the start of its operation in 1985, they have manufactured and provided over 20,000 fuel assemblies Exports over 65% of its production 17

18 EQUIPMENT GOODS Have the technological capacity and expertise to the production of key equipment, turbine generator, valves, cranes, pipes, boilers and equipment for the handling and storage of fuel, both dry and in pools Provide equipment to nuclear power plants from Spain, United Kingdom, Korea, South Africa, Taiwan, Japan, China, etc. Spanish companies manufactured over 100 steam generators for nuclear power plants around the world Export more than 80% of its production to countries on five continents 18

20 WASTE MANAGEMENT The public company ENRESA is responsible for the collection, transport, treatment, storage and control of radioactive waste The very low, low and medium activity waste are storaged in El Cabril Center (Córdoba) The used fuel is storaged in the plant pools or in dry storage until the construction of the Centralized Temporary Storage (ATC, its acronym in Spanish) in Villar de Cañas (Cuenca) that will be an important economic and employment engine for the area Currently, Spain is dismantling two NPP s: Vandellós I (Stage 2) and José Cabrera (Stage 3) 20

21 CONCLUSIONS The Spanish nuclear sector is able to develop its activity in the whole cycle of nuclear value chain: experience and technological versatility are its distinct elements. The Spanish nuclear industry has recognized capacity and experience at international level to compete in a global market The Spanish nuclear sector is consolidated and prestigious, generating wealth and employment: It is a niche of industrial activity It is a focus of qualified employment It is a source of international prestige It helps create the national trademark 21
