5 BOOKABLE ROOMS - Accessibility. Old Infirmary Building (Geography). Introduction. The University Registry Office should have been informed of students attending classes within this building who may have disabilities, whether it be mobility, visual or hearing. If this is the case, the University of Edinburgh will have made suitable adjustments where reasonably practicable. There are accessible toilets located on the ground and first floor levels of this building (see floor plans). Please note that the first floor accessible toilet is located within a secure area and is only suitable for use by persons who are authorised to access this area. Standard female toilets are located on the basement floor, a combined female/accessible toilet is located on the ground floor and standard male toilets are located on the basement floor mezzanine (see floor plans). 6 Lecture Room There is level access to this lecture room. - Access to this room from the main entrance is via three penny farthing doors. - The door to this room is double width and opens outwards. - Both door leaves must be opened to permit the passage of a wheelchair. - Wheelchair users are restricted to the front half of the room due to the desk configuration. - There is a raised podium (160mm) at the front of the room. - The seats do not have arm supports. - Numerous electrical power outlets are located around the perimeter of the room. - There is no induction loop. - There is no microphone. - The lighting level is variable. - There are blinds to control glare. - There is a combined accessible and female toilet on this floor. - The nearest standard male toilet is located on the first floor mezzanine (see floor plans).
