1 Pulaski Technical College Student Ambassador Constitution Section I Mission and purpose The Pulaski Technical College Student Ambassador program exists to further the values, goals and initiatives of the Pulaski Technical College as articulated and directed by the PTC Department of Public Relations and Marketing (PTC-PR&M). Student Ambassadors work on behalf of PTC-PR&M in exchange for college tuition and fees, excluding special program fees. As representatives of PTC-PR&M, Student Ambassadors agree to abide by strict standards of conduct. Admittance to the Student Ambassadors organization is based on academic achievement, involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership abilities and recommendation of faculty and professional staff. Student Ambassadors represent Pulaski Technical College at various functions such as orientations, campus tours, school visits, speaking engagements and other special events. Ambassadors also perform community service, assist in student recruitment and support development efforts. Student Ambassadors serve as student representatives when welcoming and hosting honored guests and distinguished members of the college community. Ambassadors participate in college activities and represent Pulaski Technical College both on and off campus. Section II Membership A. Student Ambassador s must possess the following characteristics: 1. Campus leader or representative; 2. Strong oral and written communications skills; 3. Professional behavior; 4. Pride in Pulaski Technical College; 5. Exhibits school spirit; 6. Sense of responsibility. 7. Works well with others 8. Good judgment 9. Positive attitude B. Selection and Terms Faculty, staff or current Ambassadors may nominate students. The Student Ambassador Coordinator will determine the deadline for nominations. Nominees must complete an application. The Student Ambassador Coordinator will screen applicants and determine which nominees are invited to a personal interview conducted by an appointed panel. After interviews, selections will be announced.

2 Membership shall be limited to no more than 25 Student Ambassadors at one time.

3 C. Participation requirements 1. Active members must attend Ambassador Training and Orientation. 2. Ambassadors will be required to accrue a minimum of 400 points each semester. 3. Members are required to attend all monthly and specially called meetings. Students unable to attend meetings should, whenever possible, let the Student Ambassador Coordinator know in advance they will be absent. Location of monthly and special called meetings will be announced. Meetings will be held during the fall and spring semesters only. 4. Members must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade-point average and be in good academic standing with the college. 5. Members must be current students at Pulaski Technical College, with a minimum of 9 completed college hours. 6. Members will assist with recruitment, tours, committees, mail outs and other assignments (as announced). 7. Members shall assist with special events as assigned by the Student Ambassador Coordinator. 8. Three or more unexcused absences may lead to the termination of Ambassador status. Excused absences will not count toward termination. 9. Members should sign regular attendance rosters when volunteering or attending meetings. 10. Members may continue in the Ambassador program from semester to semester as long as member remains in good standing with the college and the Ambassador Program and is actively enrolled in classes. 11. Members must take appropriate care of Ambassador uniform items. 12. As representatives of the PTC-PR&M, Student Ambassadors play a crucial role in communicating the value of Pulaski Technical College to the public. Student Ambassadors agree to represent the college in a positive manner. If representing the college in an official capacity, Student Ambassadors agree to refrain from criticism of the college, as well as initiation, perpetuation or participation in conflict or controversy in relation to college policies, or other activities reflecting negatively on the college. Publicly criticism of Pulaski Technical College, its students, faculty, staff, administration, or Board of Trustees while representing the college is grounds for dismissal. D. Points System Continued membership with the Student Ambassador program is based on participation. Ambassadors receive 10 points per hour. At times, additional points may be awarded. SECTION III Ambassador Conduct Ambassador Conduct 1. Student Ambassadors are prohibited from making negative or critical comments against Pulaski Technical College, its students, faculty, staff, administration, or Board of Trustees.

4 2. Student Ambassadors are prohibited from representing the college to the news media without first coordinating messaging with PTC-PR&M. 3. Student Ambassadors are prohibited from using profanity or negative remarks while representing Pulaski Technical College. 4. Student Ambassadors must behave responsibly at all times. 5. Student Ambassadors must be on time. 6. Student Ambassadors must dress appropriately and wear their nametag to all events. 7. Student Ambassadors must function with team spirit. 8. Student Ambassadors are prohibited from consuming alcohol and drugs while working as a Student Ambassador. SECTION IV Withdrawal Withdrawal Members wishing to withdraw membership shall submit a written communication to the Student Ambassador Coordinator indicating the desire to withdraw. However, withdrawals are permitted only at the end of the academic semester. Section V Dismissal Dismissal An Ambassador is subject to dismissal for any or all of the following: 1. Publicly making derogatory, critical or overtly negative comments or remarks against Pulaski Technical College, its students, faculty, staff, administration, or Board of Trustees while representing the college. 2. Representing the college to the news media without prior authorization or coordination of messaging with PTC-PR&M. 3. Behavior unbecoming to the Ambassador as per this Constitution. 4. Exhausting unexcused absences as previously outlined in Section II (C) of the Constitution. 5. Persistent excuses or requests for excused absences. 6. Failure to meet the required volunteer points per semester and/or GPA requirements as outlined in Section II (C). Any Ambassador who is subject to dismissal will receive written explanation for the reason(s) for dismissal. The Student Ambassador Coordinator individually addresses each situation.

5 Section VI Tuition Waiver Scholarship Each Ambassador shall receive a one-semester tuition scholarship renewable each semester for a maximum of two full years or until the student has obtained a degree and/or certificate from the college. Scholarships may be renewed as long as the student remains a member and is in good academic standing. Reviews will be made each semester. Ambassadors who withdraw or are dismissed from the program may be responsible for repayment of all or part of their tuition. This is to certify that I,, realize that as a Student Ambassador at Pulaski Technical College I am obligated to complete all requirements of the program through my final semester enrolled in the college and to remain an active member of the program. The semester that I apply for graduation and/or do not remain in good standing with the program (i.e. resignation or dismissal), my tuition will be waived on the following scale based upon completion of my point requirements with the program: 100 points earned= 25% tuition waived 200 points earned = 50% tuition waived 300 points earned = 75% tuition waived 400 points earned = 100% tuition waived For any portion of my point requirements that I do not complete in my final semester with the program, I will owe tuition to Pulaski Technical College and will be billed for that amount based on the above scale. I understand that if not paid in full, my final official transcript may be held in the Admissions Office until payment is made.
