5 Self-Referral Specialists: Ob/Gyn (No referral required from your primary care physician.) This section includes Mercy self-referral specialists that are currently in our Signature HMO and Signature POS Tier One network and our Traditional HMO and POS Tier One network. It is organized by specialty, county, city, then provider name. You do not need a referral from your primary care physician (PCP) to see an Obstetrician/Gynecologist (Ob/Gyn); in other words, you can refer yourself, so these providers are commonly called self-referral specialists. Your PCP may have an established relationship with a certain group of self-referral specialists in HealthSpan s network. If you want to seek care from a provider associated with your PCP, please talk to your PCP for a recommendation. Have questions? Members must have a referral from their primary care physician (PCP) to see these specialists. This section is organized by specialty, county, city, then provider name. An appointment with the specialists listed in this section requires an approved referral from your primary care physician (PCP). You must speak with your PCP and receive an approved written authorization from HealthSpan s Medical Management team before seeking care from a specialist in this section. Failure to do so could result in loss of benefit and increased out-of-pocket cost to you. Please remember that your PCP choice will determine which specialists are available to you. The following specialists provide specialty care to HealthSpan members. If for any reason there is not a referral specialist available or listed in this section, your primary care physician will coordinate your care appropriately. Have questions?
