Getting Started with ATB s Wire Service ATB s Wire Service enables you to transfer funds quickly and securely from your desktop. It is a convenient and safe way to execute important large dollar, time sensitive payments to your suppliers, business partners or employees around the world. Wires also offer the ability to add remittance information to a payment that can be received by the beneficiary to provide additional details regarding what the payment is for. Wires are irrevocable payments that provide certainty to the beneficiary that they can use the funds the moment they are available and that the payment will not be reversed or returned. This is important for those payments that will be relied upon by the beneficiary for later transactions or decision making. Wire Systems and Routing Instructions ATB Financial processes wires through domestic and global systems to ensure your wire is processed as quickly as possible. ATB s Wire Service requires different routing instructions depending on the currency and destination of your wire. All wires require: 1) Beneficiary Name 2) Beneficiary s physical address (no P.O boxes). 3) Beneficiary Bank Account Information as follows: For Canadian Destinations - bank#, transit#, and account#. For US destinations To send a USD Wire:ABA/RTN/FW number and account#. To send CAD or any other currency: SWIFT ID and Account# (i.e.: ACCT NB / IBAN / CLABE). For International destinations - SWIFT (also known as ISO 9362, SWIFT-BIC, BIC code, or SWIFT ID) and Account# (i.e.: ACCT NB / IBAN / CLABE). Bank Look-up Tool ATB s bank lookup tool provides up to date details regarding a beneficiary s bank routing information. ATB recommends using this tool to ensure the accuracy of a beneficiary s bank information, helping with the successful delivery of a wire. For example, for a Canadian destination wire, if you have only the transit and bank name this tool will provide you with the beneficiary bank s details. Cut-off Times The following details apply to wires submitted through ATB Online Business: Wires submitted before 2:00pm Mountain Standard Time (MT) will be processed the same day. Wires submitted after 2:00pm MT or on a non-business day will be processed the next business day. Exceptions to the above processing times include but are not limited to, wires sent to AML sanctioned countries, wires sent from accounts with Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) and wires with incorrect information. Only CAD and USD currencies are available after 2:00 pm MT and can be future dated. Foreign exchange wires cannot be future dated. Provided cut-off times are met, wires sent to a Canadian destination are guaranteed for same-day value unless exceptions noted above apply. Wires sent to US or International destinations where exceptions do not apply are only guaranteed to be sent by ATB Financial the same-day. Delivery times will vary by country and financial institution. 3

Security and Controls ATB Financial will have already setup your online profile with required Workflow Approvals based on consultation with your company s authorized signing authorities and Administrator. This means that in addition to the User creating and submitting the wire, one or two different Users may be required to approve its release to ATB for processing. Please discuss with your Administrator. ATB Financial may have also programmed maximum wire limits (business-level limits) for your company s online profile. Any wire that exceeds this limit will be rejected by the system. Please discuss with your Administrator. ATB s Wire Service provides many features for you to manage your online wire process. These flexible features will enable you to segregate duties, create workflows and manage role-level limits. The service also has real-time reporting, auditing and tracking capabilities for additional security and control. Enhanced Security Keeping your online business banking safe is a top priority for us. With our Enhanced Security solution, once the system detects a sensitive transaction, a passcode will be sent to your registered phone number via SMS text or automated phone call, depending on your preference. When you enter the passcode in ATB Online Business, the transaction proceeds. The verification process takes only a few additional seconds from start to finish. Wires are considered a sensitive transaction and will be authenticated with Enhanced Security. The following Enhanced Security triggers apply to the Wires Service: Each non-template wire submitted Each wire template created Wires sent using an existing template will not require authentication as they have already been authenticated during the setup of the template. Step by step enrollment instructions are available in the Enhanced Security Quick Guide. Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and FINTRAC Any User who will be approving wires and is not setup with ATB as a signing authority, is required to provide specific information to ATB. This information will be provided through an implementation form during initial setup. If a User is created or updated afterwards, the following details about the User MUST be submitted to ATB. This information can be provided through a new implementation form, via or by telephone. Full name Home address Home phone number Occupation (brief description required) Date of birth To meet certain AML and FINTRAC requirements, wires submitted to ATB Financial for processing must contain accurate beneficiary information including account holder name and address. A wire could be returned by the beneficiary s bank if the information does not match their records. 4

Sanctioned Countries The Canadian Government, United Nations and United States Government have imposed sanctions on certain countries. ATB Financial is required to comply with certain prohibitions as a result of these sanctions, including but not limited to, prohibition of the export of arms and related materials, prohibition of the provision of technical assistance relating to the manufacture, maintenance or use of arms and related material, and the prohibition of dealing or assisting in the sale of prohibited goods or commodities. You must ensure that no wire sent violates any of these sanctions. If you need to send a wire to a country on ATB s Sanctioned Countries List as shown in Appendix B, then download and complete the Sanctioned Countries Questionnaire and to onlinewires459@atb.com along with any supporting documentation immediately after you have submitted the wire to ATB. The form can be found on the Single Wires page in ATB Online Business or, on the Help page for ATB Online Business. IMPORTANT: Any wire submitted to a Sanctioned Country will be held by ATB and not processed until all required information has been received. Large Dollar Wires Notice Period To effectively manage large cash flows and ensure timely processing of wires, ATB Financial requires the following notification periods be strictly adhered to for wires in any currency. Amount* $25.0MM $100.0MM Greater than $100.0MM Notification Required 1 business day before effective date 2 business days before effective date *Amount is the daily cumulative amount of all wires sent from an account with the same effective date. Notification must include effective date, transit #, account # and dollar amount. Notification can be sent via to largedollarpayments@atb.com. Foreign Exchange Limits ATB s Wire Service can process wires in 27 global currencies. The following limits apply to all foreign exchange wires. CAD to USD or GBP g $50, CAD maximum per wire CAD to all other currencies g $10,000 CAD maximum per wire USD to CAD g $50, CAD maximum per wire If you need to send a wire that exceeds these limits please contact ATB Financial or send an to FinancialMarkets@atb.com. Foreign exchange wires must debit a CAD account. USD Accounts can be debited for USD or CAD wires only. If you are sending USD funds on a regular basis, we recommend opening a USD account and sending wires directly from that account. Note: If funds are not available in your account or an attached credit facility, the wire will be rejected by ATB during processing. It is important that you check the Outgoing Wires History section for the most up to date status of a wire. 5

Sending and Receiving Foreign Exchange Wires Wires that you create online will be assigned an indicative spot rate. The final rate will be determined after going through your workflow approvals and being submitted to ATB Financial for processing. Incoming wires that are in currencies different from the receiving account s currency will be converted and posted at the spot rate at time of deposit. Alerts ATB Financial strongly recommends the use of our Alerts service when using ATB s Wire Service. Using our Approval Pending alert, Users can be notified via that a wire is awaiting approval. This will help ensure the timely processing of your outgoing wires. Only once fully approved can a wire be sent to ATB for processing. Our Incoming Wire alert can be used to notify Users when a wire has been posted to an account. Users can then login to ATB Online Business to view important information through our Incoming Wire Details page and proceed accordingly. Due to the time sensitivity and large amounts associated with wires, ATB suggests creating an Incoming Wire alert with criteria of greater than $0 so you are alerted to all incoming wires posted to your account. Click here to download the Alerts User Guide. 6

Limits ATB Online Business has two tiers of limits: 1. Business-level limits are set in ATB s internal system. These limits can only be accessed by authorized ATB personnel and are set by ATB in consultation with your company s authorized signatories and Administrator. 2. Role-level limits are set within ATB Online Business by your company s Administrator in the process of creating and managing roles. The Administrator will be able to set transaction and daily limits for each wire destination. If your Administrator doesn t set role-level limits, business-level limits will apply. Both business and role-level limits are cumulative of all Users, accounts and currencies linked to the online profile. Each of the following limits are set separately at the business-level and role-level: Transactional Limit maximum dollar amount of a single wire transaction Daily Limit maximum total dollar amount of all your outgoing wire transactions in 1 business day All limits are applied based on the currency of the originating account (i.e. From account). 7

Workflow Approval ATB Online Business supports your internal company workflow through a system of approvals. There are two tiers of workflow approval available: 1. Business-level workflow approval is set in ATB s internal system with the option of single, dual or no approval required. This setting can only be modified by authorized ATB personnel and is set by ATB in consultation with your company s authorized signatories and Administrator. 2. Role-level workflow approval is managed by the Administrator at the individual role level. This setting can match but not exceed the Business-level workflow approval. There are 3 types of workflow approval available for both Business-level and Role-level workflow approval: No Approval Required Only a single User is required to send a wire to ATB for processing. Single Approval Required Any wire submitted must be approved by one other User with approval entitlements. Dual Approval Required Any wire submitted must be approved by two different Users with approval entitlements. The following workflow approval is available only at the Role-level: Deny Any wire submitted that exceeds the specified dollar amount will be denied. Any wire submitted below that dollar amount is subject to the business-level workflow approval. Wires not approved by 2:00pm MT on the effective date will be expired in the system. The wire will reflect an Approval Expired status in the Approval History section of ATB Online Business, and Approval Failed on Outgoing Wires History section. If a User rejects approval of a wire it will show an Approval Failed status in the Approval History and Outgoing Wires History sections. ATB strongly recommends that any User that has submitted a wire into workflow view the Account History section for the most up to date Approval status. Once fully approved the User should refer to the Pending Wires and Outgoing Wires History section for the most up to date processing status. Workflow Approval - Example Any Wire that is submitted will be automatically placed into workflow approval before being sent to ATB for processing. Only after required approvals have been provided will the wire will be sent to ATB for processing. Example: A company s Administrator has created two roles and assigned a User to each role: Role Name Approver Approval Required Role Transactional Limit* Role Daily Limit* New Role Yes Single Approval Required $200 $500 New Role2 Yes Single Approval Required - - 8

1. New Role sends a wire for $ Based on New Role s role, this wire will require additional approval as it is over their $200 transactional limit. New Role receives a message containing a Wire ID and that the wire has been sent for approval(s). 2. When New Role 2 logs into ATB Online Business, they will see Item(s) Awaiting Approval when viewing the ATB Online Business homepage, they can click the link to view the wire, or they can click on the Approvals tab on the home page. We recommend the use of Approval Pending alerts where Users can be notified via that a wire is awaiting approval. See the Alerts User Guide for more details. New Role 2 can also click on the Pending Wires link under the Wires tab to view the status of the wire. 3. While on the Approvals page, New Role 2 can select the wire they want to approve and click Approve Selected. In this example, as the wire only requires single approval, the wire will be sent to ATB for processing immediately after approval is received. If New Role 2 rejects the wire, the wire status will show Approval Failed on the Outgoing Wires History page. Note: For Dual Approval, the same process applies except the approval needs to be received from two different Users. As always, please check the Pending Wires and Outgoing Wires History pages to ensure the successful processing of your wire. Note: Provided cut-off times are met, wires sent to a Canadian destination are guaranteed for same-day value unless exceptions apply. Wires sent to US or International destinations where exceptions do not apply are only guaranteed to be sent by ATB Financial the same-day. Delivery times will vary by country and financial institution. 9

Check the Manage Templates box to allow this role to add, edit, and delete template information. 10

6. Check the Approve Wires box to allow this role to approve wires submitted by another User. If you are allowing a role to approve wires, select one of the following options in the Approval column: a. Deny Any wire that exceeds a specified dollar amount is denied. Any wire below that dollar amount is subject to business-level workflow approvals. b. Single Approval Required Any wire must be approved by one other User with approval rights. If your existing business-level workflow approval is set for dual approval, this option will not be available. c. Dual Approval Required Any wire must be approved by two different Users with approval rights. ATB Financial strongly recommends that you set workflow approvals that meet or exceed your existing internal workflows to better control your disbursements of funds. 7. Check the Release Single corresponding box(s) to allow this role to originate or release specific types of wire payments, or to manage wire templates. a. If you only check boxes under the Release Single column, you can create wires from a template only. b. If you check Manage Templates AND boxes under Release Single, you can create a template, create a wire from a template, and create a wire without a template. 8. Wire Destinations define how the funds are to be routed to the beneficiary. Limit a User s access for sending wires by only selecting the wire destinations that the user should be authorized to create wires for. USA Wire is used to send USD wires to the US using a Fed Wire #. Note that all non-usd wires to the US must be sent via the SWIFT network. Select International Wire to wire CAD or other currencies to beneficiaries in the US. International wire will use SWIFT IDs. Canada Wire will use the LVTS system and require a Bank/Institution #, transit # and account #. 9. Enter applicable limits for each wire destination. If your Administrator doesn t set role level limits, business level limits will apply. Transactional Limit Maximum dollar amount of a single wire transaction. Daily Limit Maximum total dollar amount of all outgoing wire transactions in 1 business day. Note: If you leave the Transactional or Daily Limit box blank, the limit will default to the business-level limit. ATB Financial strongly recommends that you use Role-level limits to effectively manage your wires process. 10. Click Save Role. 11. Verify the entitlements you have assigned to the role and click Save Role to confirm. You will see a message confirming that the role has been created or updated successfully. 11

Managing Wires There are three ways to create a wire within ATB Online Business: 1. Single Wire Authorized User is required to input all necessary beneficiary information. 2. Single Wire from Template Authorized User can create a single wire and pre-populate beneficiary information by using a previously saved template. 3. Multiple Wires Authorized User can create multiple wires at the same time and pre-populate beneficiary information by using previously saved templates. The Multiple Wires function requires the use of previously saved wire templates. Important Cut-off Times The following applies to wires submitted to ATB through ATB Online Business. Wires submitted before 2:00pm Mountain Standard Time (MT) will in most cases be processed the same day. Wires submitted after 2:00pm MT or on a non-business day will in most cases be processed the next business day. Exceptions to the above processing times include but are not limited to, wires sent to AML sanctioned countries, wires sent from accounts with Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) and wires with incorrect information. Only CAD and USD currencies are available after 2:00 pm MT and can be future dated All other foreign exchange wires cannot be future dated Note: If funds are not available in your account or an attached credit facility, the wire will be rejected by ATB during processing. 32 Can I include special characters in my beneficiary s name? No, this may result in your wire being rejected. Use only regular alpha and numeric characters. What is an IBAN? An IBAN is an International Bank Account Number, commonly used for international payments to European countries and the UK. In ATB Online Business, select international as the wire destination and enter the IBAN in the beneficiary s account # field. How do I know if my IBAN is valid? You can enter the IBAN to confirm it is valid or see a full list of countries that have adopted and use IBAN s at this website: What is a CLABE? A CLABE is an 18 digit beneficiary account # for wires destined to Mexico. In ATB Online Business, select international as the wire destination and enter the CLABE in the beneficiary s account # field. Do I use the SWIFT or Routing Number? For international destinations use the SWIFT or BIC Codes. For Canadian Destinations, use the bank #, transit #, and account #. 33 How long will it take for my wire to process? Wires submitted before 2:00 pm Mountain Standard Time (MST) will be processed the same day. Wires submitted after 2:00 pm MST or on a non-business day will be processed the next business day. Exceptions to the above processing times include, but are not limited to, wires sent to AML sanctioned countries, wires sent from accounts with Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) and wires with incorrect information. How long will it take for my wire to get to the destination? Provided cut-off times are met and no exceptions apply: Wires sent to a Canadian destination are guaranteed for same-day value. Wires sent to US or International destinations are only guaranteed to be sent by ATB Financial the same-day. Delivery times will vary by country and financial institution. Is there a cut off time to send multicurrency wires? Multicurrency wires or wires requiring foreign exchange conversion must be requested and approved before 2pm MST to process. Any multicurrency wires not approved by 2pm MST will be automatically canceled. Can I set up wires ahead of time? Yes. Wires that do not require a foreign exchange conversion (CAD to CAD or USD to USD) can be dated up to 45 days in the future. Note: Future dated wires can only be cancelled if the effective date is 1 or more business day away. Can I save my beneficiary information to use again? Yes, you can create, save, and reuse templates for wires. This is a convenient option for wires that are sent out regularly to the same beneficiary; saving time and improving accuracy. The template feature is also a recommended way to segregate duties for companies that require additional security and control. For example, you could have one role only creating templates and another role only able to approve the release of the wire. Note: Multiple wires can only be created by using existing wires templates. This is a convenient option when multiple wires are sent out regularly to the same beneficiaries. Do I have to update saved beneficiary information (wire templates)? Beneficiary bank account information does change from time to time so it is a good practise to have your beneficiary validate the wire instructions with their local financial institution quarterly to ensure that details are accurate and up to date. Inaccurate information may result in delays or even rejected wires with additional fees. 33

How will I know the status of a wire? The status of the wire will be noted in your Outgoing Wire History. Processed These wires have been successfully submitted to ATB Financial for processing. Approval Failed One of your company s Users has rejected the wire during the workflow approval process. You can view the action and who rejected it in Outgoing Wire History or Approval History. Another possibility is the approval has not been received before the cut-off time, so it s expired (ATB will auto-expire wires sent via ATB Online Business at 2pm MST on due date). Failed/rejected These wires have failed for a reason other than workflow approval. This may include items such as insufficient funds, outgoing wire to a restricted destination and missing banking instructions. What is limit I send via online wires? There are two factors that determine online wires dollar limits: 1. Business level limits. These will be determined on a company by company basis during set up of the online wire service. ATB Financial will program maximum wire limits (business-level limits) for each company s online profile. (Transaction & Daily limits.) Any wire that exceeds this limit will be rejected by the system. Administrators can also set up role-level limits. 2. Foreign Exchange limits ATB s. Online Wire Service can process wires in 27 global currencies. The following limits apply to all foreign exchange online wires. CAD to USD or GBP g $50, CAD maximum per wire CAD to all other currencies g $10, CAD maximum per wire USD to CAD g $50, CAD maximum per wire To send a wire that exceeds these limits please contact ATB Financial or send an to FinancialMarkets@atb.com. Foreign exchange wires must debit a CAD account. USD Accounts can be debited for USD or CAD wires only. Are there any special rules if I plan to send wires above $25 million dollars? To effectively manage large cash flows and ensure timely processing of wires, ATB requires the following notification periods: $25 Million to $100 Million 1 business day before effective date Greater than $100 Million 2 business days before effective date 34

Please include the below details in an to: Effective date Transit # and Account # Dollar amount Currency type Why did my foreign exchange rate change? The foreign exchange rate for online wires varies depending on the timeframe of placement to approval. 35
