playful therapy for finger, hand and arm rehabilitation Intensive and motivating training For hospitals, clinics and patients at home Award-winning Swiss therapy system swiss technology

Our patients see the playful training as a welcomed change from other therapies. With our patients train not just motor function, but also cognitive functions such as visual attention, reaction speed and hand-eye co-ordination. Diana Egloff-Vollenweider, Occupational Therapist, Reha Rheinfelden, Switzerland

Concept supports patients with sensory-motor and cognitive impairments during rehabilitation. It provides bi-manual training exercises with a focus on visuomotor finger, hand and arm coordination. The interactive therapy is using Virtual Reality technology and can be performed even in a three dimensional environment. The playful therapy software motivates the patient to reach and exceed the various goals given from the therapist. With the large variety of possible patient condition, the can be individually adjusted to the individual needs. The highly adjustable therapy gloves can be fit to almost all hand sizes. With the various different therapy settings you can offer additional training hours for the patient and optimize the resources, e.g. through group or self-therapy. Last but not least: The therapy can be performed with a standard Windows computer in a hospital, clinic or at the patient s home. Summarized: can be used successful in all stages of rehabilitation, from early rehabilitation to training at the patient s home and it gives you the opportunity of offering more hours of rehab to the patient.

at the patient s disposal Patient compliance is key in rehabilitation. The patients enjoy the playful software and are motivated to do even additional training hours if offered by the care provider. At the beginning of every training session the system is adjusted to the patient s current abilities. Specific settings in each training application enable the training difficulty and content to be quickly and easily adapted to the patient s progression and therapy needs. The Auto mode allows an automatic adjustment of the software s difficulty and ensures always an optimal challenge. The software follows stateof-the-art therapy approaches even mirror therapy is possible. The training software induces the patient to train intensively, using the following available training targets: Arm pronation and supination Arm lifting and lowering Hand and finger extension Grasping movements Selective fine finger movements Wrist flexion and extension Elbow flexion and extension Divided attention Reaction time Visual attention Concentration Visual information processing Comprehensive training documentation is available in a detailed and printable training report. The report allows patients and therapists to track progress, continuous patient motivation. Customized therapy offers a broad variety of different training targets. can be used to make the effects of even the smallest movements easily visible. This immediate positive reinforcement is extremely motivating for patients and can be recalibrated at any time to accommodate continuously the newly acquired abilities of the patient. The can be used in the following therapy settings: Individual therapy, supervised Group Therapy Self training at the hospital, clinic or at the patient s home

Inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation system is easy to transport by hand and can be used during early-stage rehabilitation at the bedside. Thanks to the large variety of training possibilities and the different levels of difficulty, can support the patient from the initial inpatient rehabilitation all the way long to the outpatient therapy in a clinic. The system continuously challenges and motivates the patient according to his/her abilities and needs. Once back home the patient can continue his training allowing him to keep on improving long term. Advantages for the hospitals and therapists: Stand out with your therapy offer is a leading-edge rehabilitation device. Virtual Reality software combined with specific sensor technology offers the hospital and clinic an unique therapy and allows to differentiate from competition. More hours of rehab for your patients With the you can offer new therapies, additional training hours for the patient and optimize the resources, e.g. through group therapy. Longer periods of rehabilitation is designed for training at home. The patient can be supervised by the therapist through telemedicine, while he is training in his private house. Cost effective is designed as a cost effective therapy device. Local infrastructure can be used (only a standard Window PC is required) and its easy to use software and hardware requires only limited product training.

Benefits Training intensity The increased patient motivation leads to training intensities of up to 3 times higher as it is achieved during conventional therapy. 1 1 Wille, D, Eng, K, Holper, L, Chevrier, E, Hauser, Y, Kiper, D, Pyk, P, Schlegel, S, Meyer-Heim, A. Virtual Reality based Paediatric Interactive Therapy System (PITS) for Improvement of Arm and Hand Function in Children with Motor Impairment a Pilot Study. Developmental Neurorehabilitation, 2009; 12(1): More therapy is used in hospitals and clinics as well as for independent training at home. Besides one-to-one training with the therapist, the can be used in Group Therapy as well as for patients self-training. This flexibility allows the care provider to offer additional therapy to maximize patient improvements. Motivation The custom-designed training applications contain incentives for competition and reward, making training enjoyable. This increases the focus on the patient s abilities rather than on his/her impairments. Along the whole Patient path therapy concept guides the patient gradually from early rehabilitation to achievement of independence in everyday life. Due to its portability, can be applied from early-stage acute rehabilitation to long-term chronic stage training in all age groups. Progress tracking From the first day of therapy onwards, both the therapist and the patient are clearly informed about the patient s training dosage, activity improvements with detailed and clear reports. Leading edge therapy device The technology behind has been awarded with prizes at several renowned local and international conferences. To include the latest rehabilitation standards, was developed in close collaboration with therapists and neurologists from leading clinics and universities. With patients are motivated to achieve great success. For me as a therapist the progress that patients make is both visible and measurable. Roland Karner, MSc Occupational Therapy
