2 n2y Encyclopedia GEOGRAPHY n2y.com Gg Cars and buses are used to transport people. People choose cars when they want to ride to work or go on a trip. Buses can carry many people at a time to schools or other towns. Trucks and trains are used to transport goods. Trucks travel on roads. Trains travel on railroad tracks. People choose trucks and trains to carry large loads of goods to stores in towns and cities. Airplanes transport people and goods to places that are far away. Airplanes can fly faster over land and water than cars or trucks. People choose airplanes to take things somewhere fast. Boats are used to transport people and goods across water. Boats carry goods from countries across the ocean. Boats can carry many big containers of goods down rivers and across lakes. People choose boats because they can carry big loads across water. Everything is on the move! Going to visit your grandmother? Hop in the car. Moving lots of things down the road? You need a truck. Need to move something fast? Choose a plane. We choose our transportation for many different reasons. Copyright Unique Learning System, LLC All Rights Reserved, November Lesson 6, Nonfiction Article 2, "Every1hing Is on the Move'', Advanced
