2 2 The Sergeant-at-Arms shall be the chairperson of the Judicial Board. There shall be five (5) members of the Judicial Board, not including the Sergeant-at-Arms, with at least two semesters being active in the chapter. Any member of the Judicial Board shall be removed with a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the active membership. ALL OF THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES ARE ONLY RECOMMENDATIONS. THE JUDICIAL BOARD SHALL HAVE THE FINAL DECISION. Section 1: Meeting Absences a) In the event a member misses three (3) unexcused meetings in a semester, he/she must perform an hour of community service for each meeting missed thereafter, for example six (6) missed meetings will result in three hours. b) In the event that a member misses another three (3) or more meetings the following semester of the same academic year, his/her membership will be reviewed. Section 2: Participation in Committee Meetings a) If a member fails to join a committee after the third week of chapter meetings, this will result in him/her having to join two committees. a. If a member fails to join two committees within the allotted time, he /she shall have their membership reviewed.

Any member of the Judicial Board shall be removed with a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the active membership. ALL OF THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES ARE ONLY RECOMMENDATIONS.

3 3 b) If a member fails to remain active within their chosen committee(s), including but not limited to missing more than two (2) committee meetings, they will be removed from the committee roster and will have an allotted time to find a new committee. a. If a member fails to remain active within this new committee, their membership will be reviewed Section 3: Financial Status a) If a member fails to pay their dues by the third meeting, they shall be considered inactive until dues are paid or a payment plan is established. b) If a member fails to pay the full amount of dues by the end of the semester, and has not established a current payment plan, they shall immediately be considered inactive and their membership may be reviewed. Section 4: Extreme Conditions a) In an extreme circumstance the Sergeant-at-Arms may call a Judicial Board meeting to discuss and determine appropriate action. Any other issue that occurs during the course of the year that is not found in the Constitution or these guidelines shall be dealt with and decided by the Judicial Board.

4 4 The Judicial Board and the Sergeant-at-Arms reserve the right to enforce these guidelines as they see fit, and can alter them with majority approval of the Judicial Board and/or the Psi Omega Executive Board. Section 5: Procedural Hearings I. Reading of accusations and evidence presented II. III. IV. Explanation of accusation(s) by the accused Explanation of accusation(s) by the complainant Closed discussion of the issue with only Judicial Board V. Additional questions may be asked of accused (if Judicial Board deems necessary) VI. VII. VIII. Closed discussion of the additional information with only Judicial Board Judicial Board decides on decision & appropriate action(s) Judicial Board approves/signs decision & action(s) Section 6: Appeals a) A member that wishes to appeal a decision decided by the Judicial Board, they must write to the current Psi Omega President stating the reason for his or her appeal within the 72 hours of the Judicial Boards decision. b) Appeals will be reviewed by the executive board during the executive board meeting with a majority vote

5 5 a. If a tie, the President will bring this business to the entire chapter during New Business at the following meeting with a two-thirds (2/3) vote.
