19 AUDIO CONNECTIVITY MODULE The Audio Connectivity Module is a simple and convenient way of playing music through the standard JAGUAR sound system using a range of portable devices including ipod and other MP3 players, USB storage devices, and audio devices such as CD or MiniDisc players. The Audio Connectivity portal, neatly and securely located in your XK, delivers highquality sound and exceptional ease-of-use. Allowing connection of an ipod or USB storage device, the system is controlled from the audio controls located on the steering wheel and plays back through the car s speaker system. Connection is simple using either the cable for ipod or the socket for USB. A connector allows other audio devices to be used including MP3 players. There are no stray leads visible inside the car and the glove box or centre armrest provides a discreet place to store whichever audio device is connected. Listening to your music is made easy and convenient. The remote controls on the steering wheel can be used to control ipods and USB storage devices connected to the Audio Connectivity Module in the same way they are used on the standard audio system. ipod INTERFACE An ipod connected through the system can be operated from the steering wheel-mounted controls, which can be used to change playlists and scroll through tracks. And, of course, the ipod battery charges when connected with the ignition switched on. USB INTERFACE Simply plug in a USB storage device with music. Control and navigation of the device are from the steering wheel-mounted controls. A switch located in the glove box also allows users to switch between ipod and USB storage devices. AUXILIARY INTERFACE Any device with a standard 3.5mm headphone socket, including CD players, MiniDisc players, cassette players and other brand MP3 players, can be connected via the Audio Connectivity Module, although steering wheel-mounted control of functions will not be available. Audio Connectivity Module is available for XK vehicles from launch up to and including 08 Model Year. Please consult your JAGUAR dealer for further information on the functionality of the Audio Connectivity Module. And, of course, the ipod battery charges when connected with the ignition switched on. USB INTERFACE Simply plug in a USB storage device with music. Control and navigation of the device are from the centre console control panel and the steering wheel-mounted controls. AUXILIARY INTERFACE Any device with a standard 3.5mm headphone socket, including CD players, MiniDisc players, cassette players and other brand MP3 players, can be connected via the Audio Connectivity Module, although no head unit or steering wheel-mounted control of functions will be available. 35 REAR SCREEN CONNECTIVITY SYSTEM Rear seat entertainment is provided by the Rear Screen Connectivity System. Replacement head restraints with integrated screens allow the rear seat passengers to connect to many different devices including laptops, games consoles and DVD players. In fact, almost anything with an Audio/TV output is compatible. The kit contains two 7-inch LCD screens, infra red headphones and an AV panel. The Rear Screen Connectivity System supports two inputs so two separate devices can be used simultaneously. The Rear Screen Connectivity System is not compatible with electric head restraints. Available on Warm Charcoal and Champagne interiors only. 35

49 REAR SCREEN CONNECTIVITY Keeping rear seat passengers, particularly the younger ones, happy on long journeys couldn t be easier with the Rear Screen Connectivity System. This high quality system is comprised of two 5.6-inch LCD screens integrated into the back of the front seat headrests and two sets of dual band, infrared wireless headphones. Simply plug your DVD player, camcorder, games console, ipod or MP3 device into the rear of the centre console, sit back and relax. In fact, almost anything with an Audio/TV output is compatible. The Rear Screen Connectivity System supports two inputs, so two entirely separate devices can be used simultaneously. AUDIO CONNECTIVITY MODULE The Audio Connectivity Module conveniently plays music from almost any audio device through the existing JAGUAR sound system in your X-TYPE. This enables you to plug in an ipod and USB storage devices and be able to control the audio system whilst you are on the move. The inclusion of an auxiliary socket allows MP3 players and other audio devices, for example CD and MiniDisc players, to be heard on the audio system. This includes practically any device with a standard 3.5mm headphone socket. The Audio Connectivity Module for the X-TYPE is located discreetly in the centre armrest. 53 JaguarWatch is the authorised pan-european vehicle tracking system from JAGUAR. It complies with Europe s highest insurance standards and is available in two formats: JaguarWatch Standard is a stolen vehicle tracking system that incorporates a number of proactive security features. In predefined circumstances, such as if the vehicle is moved without the key present, disconnecting the vehicle battery or tampering of the GPS antenna, a silent alert is triggered at the JaguarWatch Monitoring Centre, who will notify the vehicle owner of the incident. JaguarWatch Advanced offers all of the above features plus the incremental functionality of a driver recognition module. If the vehicle is driven away without the tag being present, the JaguarWatch Monitoring Centre will contact the vehicle owner to check if an incident has occurred. This process is designed to address key theft, which now accounts for the majority of thefts involving new vehicles, and ensures that the police are notified at the earliest opportunity. JaguarWatch is constantly monitoring the vehicle, so you can be assured it provides protection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week both in the UK and in Europe. In fact, the JaguarWatch Monitoring Service provides priority access to the police in more than 35 European countries. Furthermore, your JAGUAR can be located if it is stolen and taken to any one of more than 200 countries that have adopted the GSM mobile phone system.
