3 Brief Description of Terms Cost Avoidance Difference between baseline month or year cost and program month or year cost (adjusted for weather and any other significant factors -- in our case, construction and demolition) ECAP Industry standard software that calculates cost avoidance. All utility bills for the district are entered into this database EMS Energy Management System Guidelines Specific expectations for energy use. Adopted by the Board in June, HVAC Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning

4 Program Review Maintain Comfort & Safety in Occupied Areas Different protocols for Occupied vs. Unoccupied periods Monitor building use to make certain comfort is maintained during occupancy Monitor building use to make certain equipment (HVAC, lights, computers, copiers, etc.) run times correspond to occupancy Eliminate Energy Waste and Save Dollars on Utility Costs Implement Guidelines Change behaviors of all staff and end-users of our facilities Track and analyze consumption
