2 TOWN OF ALTONA 2016 FINANCIAL PLAN Executive Summary Municipal Taxes The enclosed budget documentation provides for an increase in the 2016 Municipal Tax Levy of $526, (13.52%) compared to the 2015 Municipal Tax Levy. The 2016 municipal mill rate will decrease by 7.02% to from in The impact on municipal taxes will vary by residence or business depending on the changes in the property assessment value since 2016 is a reassessment year which saw an average assessment increase of 8.9% as determined by the local assessment branch.
