Smith, Novato Installers: Ellen Campbell, Novato Katya McCulloch, San Anselmo Wendy Goldberg, Fairfax Dona Kopol Bonick Napa Dona Kopol Bonick is an American fine art and commercial photographer whose photographic career spans more than two decades. She has work in the DiRosa Art Preserve, many private collections around the world as well as every room in the Westin Napa Valley. She was the Director of Photography for the inaugural, successful music festival: BottleRock Napa Valley. She also has the number one best selling black and white image, Muscle Boys which sold 500,000 cards through the Papyrus Stores. Dona is a former photography instructor at Napa Valley College and has guest lectured at San Francisco State, Solano College and San Francisco Academy of Art. Christopher Erin San Francisco Christopher Erin has been working in large format black and white since 1987, and ultra large format and mammoth plate wet collodion since The majority of his work has been in black and white, though he did digital color capture for about 5 years. He is now primarily concentrating on wet collodion. From 1987 until 2014 he exhibited at invitational outdoor art festivals in over 15 states around the US, winning major awards. Christopher has had numerous group and one person shows over the years, including the Museum of Modern Art Rental Gallery in San Francisco, Harvey Milk Photo Center in San Francisco, the Mercantile Gallery in Sausalito and others. Jack Fulton San Rafael Jack Fulton is Professor Emeritus (former Chair) of the Photography Department at the San Francisco Art Institute. As an artist and filmmaker, he has received grants and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, Paris Audiovisuel, Marin Arts Council, and is the recipient of the Belkin Wilderness Lectureship from the University of California, San Diego. His work has been exhibited internationally, including solo shows at the San Jose Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the M.H. de Young Museum of San Francisco; Encontros de Fotografia, Portugal; Musee d Art Moderne, Paris; and the Institute of Contemporary Art, London.
2 Michael Gough Santa Rosa Michael is a photographer based in Santa Rosa. His works have won awards in prestigious juried competitions in the Bay Area. He has been invited to present his landscape works at a number of Bay Area shows. Michael works in traditional black and white with an emphasis on infrared images. Having a desire to pass on his knowledge and skills in the medium, he has also volunteered as an assistant with the Napa Valley College photography programs. Rachael Heim Santa Rosa Rachael Heim is a professional photographer from Santa Rosa. Her passion started at an early age and grew as she had the opportunity of working with other photographers from the area. After gaining years of experience she started her own business and does a wide variety of weddings, portraits, and events. She has served as a photography judge for both youth and adult competitions at many Northern California fairs. Chuck Honek Santa Rosa A Native of Long Island, New York, Chuck's fascination with photography ignited in 1969 while stationed in Vietnam. As a Mechanical Engineer he helped develop the first digital camera in the United States. Although engineering was his career for over 20 years, Chuck never lost his love of photography. He has been awarded numerous "Best of Shows" and First Place ribbons. In 2000 and 2001, Chuck placed third in the overall Professional Photography competition at the California State Fair. He was also an underwater photographer for over twenty years. He now has established himself in the field of wedding and portrait imaging and leads photographic educational tours worldwide. Chuck is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, and was a Master in the Santa Rosa Photographic Society. 3 1. Local and State Rules govern this competition. 2. Eligibility: Open to living residents of the United States. Works of art previously shown at the Marin County Fair are not eligible. All entries must be the original design and current work of the artist created within the last two years. 3. Entry Fees are Non-Refundable. 4. Entry Limit: Eight prints per exhibitor and twenty projected works per exhibitor. A sequence is considered one entry, and must consist of two or more related images on one mount, printed separately on the same sheet of paper or overlapping as in a multiple exposure or panorama. Note: The same image may not be entered in more than one class. 5. Eligible Work: a. Wall-hung works only. Maximum size, 84 (including frame) in any direction. (Exception - Entries in Classes 3 or 4 may be 3-dimensional.) b. Works must be framed and have screw eyes or mirror (D-ring) hangers with braided wire. Clip frames are not acceptable. Canvas wraps and prints on metal or glass may not be framed, but the Marin County Fair is not liable for any damage refer to Rule # Projected Images: From slides or digital origin. a. Submit high quality digital jpeg images. b. Name the File: The name of your image file will serve as the label for competition. Example: Beautiful _Tropical_Sunset.jpg c. Submit your file(s) on a CD or flash drive. d. Mailed/shipped CD s or flash drives will not be returned unless a self-addressed stamped return envelope is included with entry. e. Award winning Projected Images will be shown daily at the Marin County Fair on a monitor in the Fine Art/Craft/Photography Show. 7. Identification: EACH PRINT MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH TITLE, NAME OF EXHIBITOR, DIVISION AND CLASS NUMBER ON BACK. 8. Receiving Mailed/Shipped Works of Art: Mailed and shipped works are due in the Fair Office by Thursday, June 16, 5 pm. Prepaid, return postage and insurance must accompany entries. Make checks payable to Marin County Fair. 9. Sales: Please indicate sale price or not for sale (N.F.S.) on entry form. Marin County Fair will retain a 20% commission. Sales will be handled through the Fair Office. Artists will be paid by check approximately three weeks following the Fair. Note: Sales Price may not be changed after entry form is submitted. 10. Liability: a. The County of Marin, Marin County Fair, and/or its contractors will not be responsible for loss or damage which may occur from any cause. Any entries received damaged will not be juried. b. Work held over 5 days after release date will become the property of the Marin County Fair and may be sold or donated to defray storage costs. 11. Removal of Work: Accepted works, including those sold during the Fair, shall not be removed from the exhibition until Fair closes. 12. Juried Show: Definition of a Juried Show -- All photographs that meet the rules are judged, although entering does not guarantee acceptance for display. Only those selected by the jury will be exhibited during the Fair.

On entry form please specify process used - Silver Gelatin Print, Infrared, Ilfochrome, Cyanotype, Digital, Polaroid Transfer, Hand-Colored, etc. 1 Monochrome Prints Black or any single tone. Portraits, Photo Journalism, Landscapes, Still Life, Fashion Photography, etc. 2 Color Prints Color Portraits, Photo Journalism, Landscapes, Still Life, Fashion Photography, etc. 3 Creative - Alternative Prints Any image created through the use of imaginative skill or originality of thought, including but not limited to Computer Manipulation. Alternative: Hand-coloring, Holga, Photo Collage, Non- Silver Processes, Photo Transfers, Mixed Media, and other cross-over photographic processes not mentioned. 2 or 3 Dimensional. (Need not be wallhung, but exhibitor must provide their own pedestal.) 4 New! Special Print Category Marvelous Marin Any photo depicting a Marin County scene. (Marin Landscapes, Urban Marin, the Marin Coastline, Faces of Marin, Marin Wildlife or Birds, Marin Agriculture, etc.) You may use any photo process (monochrome, color, infrared, etc.) Two or three Dimensional work accepted. Need not be wall-hung. Awards for Marvelous Marin are listed below. Note: This category will be displayed in a special exhibition in the Exhibit Hall. 5 Mobilography Photos taken using electronic devices with built in digital cameras. Examples: Mobile phones, personal pocket computers, ipads, iphones, compasses, field glasses, etc. All manipulation of photos taken with your electronic device must be done through apps on the same mobile device. (If you use your iphone, all manipulation of your photo is to be done on your iphone.) Through manipulation, more than one image may be combined into one entry. Note: This category will be displayed in a special exhibition in the Exhibit Hall. 6 Projected Images (Electronic) From slide or digital origin. See Rule # 6 for submission instructions. 7 New! Special Category In Focus Submit five images electronically, focusing on one subject or idea. Examples: Paris Bistro Markets, Faces of Portugal, Historical Landmarks, Clouds, Abstract Imagery, etc. Submit a short paragraph about your entry, including where photos were taken and process used. The images may be from slide or digital origin. Refer to Rule #6 for submission instructions. The top three entrants in this category will each be awarded the Jack Fulton Award (see below), and will be asked to then submit prints of their work to be displayed at the Fair. All other entries selected for the show will be shown daily at the Marin County Fair on a monitor in the Fine Art / Craft / Photography Show.
