2 Introduction Since 1914, Katwijk Chemie has been successfully producing high quality Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Fine chemicals. We offer our customers the following benefits: More than 90 years Dutch reliability igh and consistent product quality Quick and accurate QA and QC support, FDA/EDQM inspected Small (90 staff), fast and flexible World-wide local sales contacts, including Japan Privately owned and fully independent In this product list, you will find the variety of products that we are currently supplying, split into three different sections: 1. Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API s) (page 4) The Anti-epileptics form a major part of our API s. owever, we also cover other therapeutic categories like anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and CS stimulant (page 6). For every API, the approved indications for a pharmaceutical formulation have been given. All API s are produced under cgmp conditions. Drug Master Files (DMF) are available for many countries and several Certificates of Suitability (CoS, CEP) for the European Pharmacopoeia have been issued. 2. Bulk Fine Chemicals (page 9) The Bulk Fine Chemicals are used in a wide variety of fields, the most important of them being the pharmaceutical and the agrochemical industries. These chemicals are produced under cgmp conditions, in volumes between 1 and 100 metric tons. 3. ther Fine Chemicals (page 12) The applications for these chemicals also lie mostly in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical area. More specifically, we offer you a range of substituted Pyrimidines (page 12), Pyridines (page 14) and Pyrazoles (page 15). These chemicals are produced under cgmp conditions, in volumes between 5 kg and 2 metric tonnes. For your convenience, all products are listed alphabetically at the back of this Product list (page 22), followed by a cross reference table with the corresponding CAS numbers
3 Custom chemical synthesis Katwijk Chemie is also a strong partner in Custom chemical synthesis, producing exclusive products for specific customers, with a focus on volumes between 100 kg and 50 metric tonnes. We guarantee full confidentiality, a quick scaling up from Lab to Commercial, and a long term relationship based on mutual trust. Chemical Experience The following types of organic reactions fall within our current scope: Additions with Isocyanates or Sodium cyanide Aminations with Ammonia Condensations Types: Aldol, Benzoin, Claisen and Knoevenagel Malonic ester synthesis Syntheses of heterocycles (e.g. pyrimidines, pyrrolidines, imidazolidines and phthalimides) Derivatisations Esterification to n-alkyl esters Preparations of imines Preparations of phthalimides Pinner reaction Eliminations with ydazine xidations with ydrogen peroxide or Potassium permanganate Equipment Katwijk Chemie is using the following equipment: - Glass lined reactors with volumes of 0.1 m 3 to 4 m 3, equipped with fractionating columns - Stainless steel reactors with volumes of 1 m 3 to 8 m 3 - Stainless steel fractionating installations, with volumes of 3 m 3, a minimum pressure of 5 Torr, and a maximum bottom temperature of 170º C. ne of these installations has been equipped for the distillation of solidifying liquids (melting points up to 55º C) - Stainless steel centrifuges and astelloy centrifuges - Spray dryer, fluid bed dryers, mixing screw vacuum dryers, vacuum paddle dryer. - Elevated temperature storage (to melt solid raw materials) - 3 -
