Warnings and Precautions This section contains important information pertaining to correct and safe usage of your mobile phone. Read carefully before using your phone. Electronic Device Switch off your mobile phone in places that prohibit use of the device. Do not use your mobile phone when it can cause danger or interference with electronic devices. 12

Medical Device Power off your mobile phone and follow the rules and regulations set forth by hospitals and health care facilities. Pacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum distance of 15cm be maintained between a device and a pacemaker to prevent potential interference. If you are using a pacemaker, use the device on the opposite side of the pacemaker and do not carry the device in your front pocket. Some mobile phones may affect the performance of hearing aids. Consult your network provider for more information. Potentially Explosive Environments Comply with all signs and instructions. Switch off your device in areas that are potentially explosive, or where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle s engine. Using your mobile phone in such areas may trigger sparks, which could cause an explosion or fire, resulting in bodily injuries or even death. Do not switch on the device at refueling points such as service stations. Comply with restrictions on the use of radio equipment in fuel depots, storage, and distribution areas, and chemical plants. You must adhere to rules in areas where blasting operations are in progress. Before using the device, watch out for potentially explosive environments that are often, though not always, clearly marked. Such locations include below-deck on boats, chemical transfer or storage facilities and areas where the air contains chemicals or particles such as grain, dust, or metal powders. Ask the manufacturers of vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane) if this device can be safely used in their vicinity. 13

Traffic Security Observe local laws and regulations while using your mobile phone. If using the device while driving a vehicle, please comply with the following guidelines: Concentrate on driving. Your first responsibility is to drive safely. Make only hands-free phone calls while driving. Park the vehicle on one side of the road before making or answering a call. RF signals may affect electronic systems of motor vehicles. For more information, consult the vehicle manufacturer. Do not place the device over an air bag or in any air bag deployment area. Otherwise, the device may cause harm should the air bag inflate. Do not use your device while flying in an aircraft. Switch off your device before boarding an aircraft. Using wireless devices in an aircraft may be dangerous to the operation of the aircraft, disrupt pilot-ground communication, and may be considered illegal. Operating Environment Do not use or charge the device in dusty, damp or dirty places or areas with magnetic fields. Otherwise, the circuits may not function properly. The device complies with the RF specifications when used near your ear or at a distance of 1.5 cm from your body. Ensure that accessories such as a case or holster are not composed of metal components. Keep your device 1.5 cm away from your body to meet the aforementioned requirements. Avoid using your mobile phone when charging in the middle of a storm to prevent possible dangers caused by lightning. Avoid touching the antenna when on a call. Touching the antenna affects call quality and increases power consumption. In effect, talk and standby time are reduced considerably. 14

Observe all local laws and regulations when using your mobile phone. Respect others' privacy and legal rights. Use only Starmobile-supplied accessories with your phone. Using unauthorized accessories will render the warranty null and void. Keep the ambient temperature between 0ºC and 40ºC during mobile phone charging. Keep the ambient temperature between 0ºC and 40ºC when using your mobile phone running on battery power. Preventing Hearing Damage Using the receiver, earbuds, headphones, speakerphone, or earpieces at high volume can result in permanent hearing loss. Be extremely careful when listening at high decibel levels. Set the volume to a safe level. If you experience strange ringing sounds in your ears or if you hear muffled speech, have your hearing checked immediately. If you continue to use high volume, your hearing may get affected. Hearing experts offer the following suggestions to protect your hearing: Reduce the time you use the receiver, earbuds, headphones, speakerphone, or earpieces at high volume. Do not increase the volume to block noisy surroundings. Reduce the volume if you cannot hear people speaking near or to you. 15

Child Safety Please comply with all precautions concerning child safety. Letting a child play with your mobile phone or its accessories, which may include parts that can be detached from the device, may prove dangerous, and may present a choking hazard. Keep your mobile phone and its accessories out of reach of small children. Environment Protection Adhere to local regulations regarding safe disposal of mobile phones and its electrical accessories including chargers, headsets, and batteries. Recycle as applicable. Do not dispose of an exhausted battery or a used mobile phone as common domestic rubbish. Accessories Use only the standard accessories (charger, battery, and headset) provided with your mobile phone. Using accessories of other manufacturers or vendors with this mobile phone might invalidate any approval or warranty applicable to the device. It might result in the non-operation of the device, and may be dangerous. The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times before it eventually wears out. When the standby time and talk time are shorter than normal, it is advisable to replace the battery. Use the AC power supply defined in the specifications of the charger. An improper power voltage may cause fire, or the charger to malfunction. If the ambient temperature is considerably low or high, the capacity and life of the battery will be reduced. Using your mobile phone in temperatures lower than 0 C will affect battery performance. Do not connect two poles of the battery with conductors such as metal materials, keys or jewelry. The battery may short-circuit and may cause injuries and burns on your body. 16

Do not disassemble the battery or solder the battery poles. This may lead to electrolyte leakage, overheating, fire, or an explosion. In the event of a battery electrolyte leak, make sure that the battery liquid does not touch your skin and eyes. Should the battery liquid come into contact with your skin or eyes, immediately wash with clean water immediately and consult a doctor. Common signs of battery wear and/or damage includes color change, and abnormal heat during storage or charging. If this happens, remove the battery immediately and refrain from use. Continuous usage may lead to battery leakage, overheating, explosion, or fire. If the power cable is damaged (e.g., the lead is exposed or broken), or the plug has become loose, stop using the cable at once. Otherwise, it may lead to electric shock, short-circuiting of the charger, or fire. Do not dispose of batteries in fire as they may explode. Damaged batteries may also explode. Clearing and Maintenance Hearing experts offer the following suggestions to protect your hearing: Your mobile phone, battery, and charger are not water-resistant and must be kept dry at all times. Protect your mobile phone and its components from water or vapor. Touching your mobile phone and its components with wet hands may lead to short-circuiting, device malfunction, and electric shock. Do not place your mobile phone, battery, or charger in places where it can get damaged because of collision. This may lead to battery leakage, device malfunction, overheating, fire, or explosion. Do not place magnetic storage media such as magnetic cards and floppy disks near the device. Radiation from the device may erase the information on the storage media. 17

Do not leave your device, battery, or charger in extremely hot or cold places. Doing so results in equipment malfunction and may lead to a fire or an explosion. If the ambient temperature is considerably lower or higher than the preferred standard, the capacity and life of the battery may be reduced. When the temperature is lower than 0 C, battery performance may be affected. Do not place sharp metal objects such as pins near the earpiece. These objects may fall into the earpiece and cause bodily injury. When cleaning or maintenance, turn off the device and disconnect it from the charger. Do not use any detergent, powder, or other chemical agents (such as alcohol and benzene) to clean your mobile phone and charger. Otherwise, parts of the device may get damaged or cause a fire. It is best to use a soft antistatic cloth for cleaning your mobile phone and charger. Do not dismantle the device or accessories. Otherwise, Starmobile will not be held liable for damages, as the device and accessories are not covered by warranty. Emergency Call Your mobile phone provisions for emergency calls when in the coverage of your network service area. The connection, however, cannot be guaranteed in all conditions. You should not rely solely on your mobile phone for essential communications during emergency situations. 18
