1 New Software Release: OmniCare Version 7.3: Overview The staff at Insight have been hard at work, developing the latest version of OmniCare, Version 7.3. We re proud of this new release and are confident that you will be very happy with the results. In fact, many of the new features have been designed by you, our valued clientele. OmniCare 7.3 has 5 new modules, dozens of enhancements and now interfaces with most PACS, RIS and HIS!!! This update applies to the following OmniCare solutions: 1. Radiology Information System 2. Mammography Patient Manager 3. Women s Center Manager 4. Disease Management System Inside and Out, OmniCare has been improved! Here s an overview of what s in store for you. 1. New and Improved Modules: a. Document Scanning/Attachment and Image Management: Now you can go paperless and scan all of your documents into OmniCare you can attach fax and files (in most formats, pdf, jpg, etc ). b. OmniScribe: Radiologist One Touch Reporting: Radiologists can now create reports with a click of a button or touch of the screen. With our new robust Radiologist One Touch screen, you can view old reports, images, phone # s, and diagrams. c. OmniGate: PACS, HIS, RIS and Billing HL7 Interfaces: Our new interface engine allows patient information and orders to flow from and to PACS, HIS, RIS and Practice Management/Billing via HL7. d. OmniRDS (Report Distribution System): Now you can batch print and fax transcription documents automatically to referring physicians once transcription reports are completed. e. Nurse Navigator Case Management: Nurse Navigator helps to keep track of post biopsy patients, referrals, support groups, financial aid and educational information. f. Appointments Scheduler: Our new scheduling module allows you to schedule patients quickly and easily, automatically sending the information to OmniCare for quick check-in directly from OmniCare. g. DICOM Worklist: Automatically sends patient demographics directly to the modality worklist so techs don t have to do data entry twice, saving time and preventing data entry errors. 2 2. New Features Summary: There are hundreds of new features, large and small (many more than can be listed here), but here s a sampling of what s in store. a. The Patient Screen: All patient data screens have been revised with more information and better organization. New fields: patient and cell phone #. Patients and Providers can be ed right from OmniCare. There is now a (?) pull down for language All the data grids contain more information and better data validation. More warning alerts have been added to patient deletion and patient ID changes. b. More ways to lookup patients: A complete new patient search. Now you can look patients up by ID, last name and first name, social security number, birth date, and phone. c. New Referring Physicians (?) Lookup: Now you can search for clinicians by ID and last name. Add additional referring Providers/Clinicians on the fly. d. The Exam and Results Screen Better clarity and organization to the screen. Exam status tab that shows, time, duration, and other workflow information. Scanned documents and attachments can be saved to a patient record and tied to exams. Communications for this exam (letters, phone calls...) can be displayed with a <RightClick> on the letter icon. New (?) pulldowns and validation for every drop down resulting in fewer input errors. Easy Click Clock added for easier time entry. e. Patient Follow Up Screen Multiple follow ups per patient A Follow Up / Case Manager can be assigned. f. Completely Renovated Mammography History Screen Many new fields have been added with system (?) lookup s for easier setup. Interactive diagrams allow tech and Rad to mark areas of concern. Problem areas are highlighted in red for easy viewing. History screen is accessible from the Encounter, Tech and Rad Worklist, and the Rad One Touch Screen. Added an additional comprehensive family history tab. g. Pathology Screen Redesigned for better quality assurance auditing. Tracking of both screening and diagnostic radiologists. 3 h. Film Tracking New Batch Check-in/Check-out: multiple films going to (or coming from) the same place at the same time. i. Encounters/Order Entry Order Entry screen with conversion of appointments to orders (with appointments module). History, Scanned Documents and Appointments are now accessible from the encounters screen. j. Tech Worklist Tech worklists with greater sorting and filters. Add exams from the tech worklist. k. Radiologist Worklist Rad worklist with better filtering. Better organization on the worklists. Color coding of high priority exams. New OneTouch module for quick reporting. l. Transcription: New distribution allows you to print and fax transcriptions reports automatically to all or select referring physicians. Encounter tab allows you to create one report for multiple exams. Access to the Patient Medical Record, History screen, and Breast Diagram within transcription. Reports can be addressed to each referring physician and include customized formats and signature files. m. NQMBC Quality Initiative: Omnicare now supports the NCBC s National Quality Measures for Breast Centers. This entails capture of new data and specialized statistical reports. n. A Few Other Enhancements New Quick Click Clock for easy mouse entry of time fields. Prompts to remind you to update the communication log after printing letters. Transcription incorporates better Word merging, and prompts if you inadvertently try to Quit before completing the report. Enhanced company setup lets you assign various system folder locations. Can track duration of phone calls. The entire system setup has been enhanced with new system tables. Upgraded HIPAA Security: strong password support, forced change password at first / next login, recurring password expiration. A new clean look with a higher resolution for better viewing, new colors for easy reading and revamped screens for better work flow. A more comprehensive user login and transaction audits w/ better reporting. Send an to a provider or a patient right from within OmniCare. Radiologist can use the Quick E-Sign to batch sign reports all at once or use the Quick view function to quickly look at each report before E-signing. 4 3. Integration of the Latest Technology a. New Interfaces: OmniGate: New HL7 interface engine: Supporting ADT, ORM, ORU and DFT. New interfaces with Hospital, Clinical, PACS and other Radiology Info systems HL7 messages can be sent to/from TCP/IP or file based and be filtered Batch file interfacing available for systems that do not support HL7. b. Technology Update: True client/server database (Firebird v1.5) a faster database with better and faster access for multi or single facility hospitals. Integrated Database backup / restore easy restore and backup. Upgrade to Crystal Reports 11 better, faster, nicer looking reports. 4. New Reports, Letters, Forms and Labels: All reports have been updated to the newest Crystal Reports 11 for better customization and have undergone significant changes. a. New and Improved Reports: We have revamped all reports using Crystal Reports XI. Statistical reports have been combined for quicker reporting. ACR Audit reports have been redone to be more informative and accurate. Added more parameters to reports to make data filtering even easier. You pick the type of graph to display on reports with graphs. b. New Forms and Letters: Batch result and recall letters now have a summary page for quick reference. Better control over all letter closings for that custom touch. All batch letters have undergone cosmetic changes to make them easier to read. Forms and letters can now include <HTML> formatting codes (for bold, italic, large font ) and patient data can be merged into the body of the form (by you). 5 Technical Requirements For the most part your existing systems and network should support V7.3 very well. The main change is that Windows 95, 98 and ME are not supported. The operating performance you get from the system will be greatly influenced by the speed and power of your computer. Here are our minimum requirements and recommendations.
