Installing Emageon PACS Remote Ultravisual

1 The PACS DICOM visualization software for Carondelet Health Network is a Java based application that is installed from the PACS Archive servers. Before proceeding with the installation please see Table 1 for Hardware requirements. Warning: Carondelet s PACs system runs on a different Java Application than Rad Ltd. You will not be able to run both systems on the same PC. The installation is a two-part installation process. 1. Installation of the Java Runtime Environment. 2. Installation of the Ultravisual Java Applet. Note: The installation of Java requires you to be logged in to a privileged account on the workstation. Complete the following steps to install Ultravisual. 1. Using Internet Explorer enter the address for the Emageon PACS remote server 2. If this is the first time installing UV on this system the installer will take you directly to the Memory Allocation screen. Important: Use the drop down to select the memory value one less then the physical memory of the system you re installing on. Example: If the system has 1GB of memory you would select 768Mb in the drop down and click the Save Settings button.

2 3. Next the main installation screen will be displayed. Click on Install Java On the next screen click on Java for Microsoft Windows

3 5. At the File Download request click Run. 6. The Java installer will download.

4 7. Click to accept the terms in the license agreement, then click next. 8. Typical should be selected, Click next.

5 9. Wait for the installation to complete. 10. Then click Finish.

6 11. Next click on Click Here After Java 1.4 is Installed.

7 12. The Java runtime environment is now installed. 13. Click on Run Ultravisual Image Display. 14. Ultravisual will stat to load.

8 15. Click on Always, to load the security certificate. 16. Next click on Start to launch Ultravisual.

9 17. Enter your Ultravisual Username and Password to login to the application. 18. To create a desktop icon to start Ultravisual. Go to the Ultravisual web page After setting the memory configuration. Right click on Run Ultravisual Image Display and select Copy Shortcut. Right click on your desktop and select Paste Shortcut. This will create an icon for Ultravisual on your desktop.
