Qualifications in Detail Qualifications for all applicants - Applicants of, (including Architectural ), and Performance should hold MA degree or higher, and must provide with sufficient international work experiences. - Applicants of Science, Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences should hold Ph.D. degree, and those with high quality industrial-cooperative researches and international journals will be appointed preferentially. - An applicant over 65 years old is ineligible for application. - Final evaluation of the applicant s thesis must be passed before February 12, (An official letter from the applicant s thesis director must be submitted by this time). - Applicants may indicate any official certificates, if available, related to his/her major field. - Applicants with foreign nationality are welcomed. foreign applicants could be evaluated separately from Korean applicants, if needed to make a fair evaluation(lectures should be given in English, for the Position of the Programs(Teaching nly), lectures should be given in both English and Chinese) - Applicant cannot apply for full-time tenure-track positions if he/she has recently worked as Hongik University faculty or lecturer in the same department for the latest 2 semesters(the restraint is not imposed for an applicant to a different department than the one he/she was previously employed by). Evidence of remarkable achievement is defined as an average of more than 10 points improvement per year (refer to the supplement) either since the latest application or during the last 5 years. An applicant for additional recruitment in the same semester is not required to meet this condition and can reapply. 3) Applicants who have previously applied more than 3 times: 1) Hongik University does not accept applications from those who have applied before in the same area
12 more than 3 times. However, if the applicant has either changed the applying area or earned an outstanding result since the latest application, he/she can reapply. In addition, applicants who are applying for additional recruitment during the same semester can reapply. For acceptable standards of an outstanding result in each area, refer to the following: (1) Liberal, Social Studies, Science and Engineering Areas: ne or more theses published in SCI/SSCI academic journals. (2) Architectural /Planning Area: Participation in International Exhibitions (held overseas) - co-hosted by more than 3 nations, or by foreign government(s) or internationally notable organization(s). (3) and Physical Areas: Participation in private exhibition or screen media (invited by internationally notable museum(s) only) We recognize only invitations by such internationally notable organization(s) as Gwang Ju Biennale, Venice Biennale, Sao Paulo Biennale, Kassel Documenta, Whitney Biennale etc or screening in MMA, Guggenheim, Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Gallery or their equivalents. (3) 2nd Evaluation (Assessment of Basics and Majors) Scores of the research achievements will be computed only if 1) the research achievements (or artworks) have been produced during the past 5 years. 2) the research achievements (or artworks) are submitted by the deadline. 3) the research achievements (or artworks) are relevant to the position. (4) 3rd Evaluation (Interview) 1) Interviews are expected to be held at the campus for selected candidates in January. Please note that we do not have either phone or video interviews.
