3 CLEANING EQUIPMENT Superior Engine Parts Cleaning In order to work effectively on engine parts, they need to be thoroughly cleaned to remove scale, oil deposits and rust. To meet the increasing need for suitable washing solutions, IOP Marine & Chris-Marine have introduced both single stage aqua spray washers for overall cleaning of engine parts as well as advanced ultrasonic cleaners that will reach every orifice. HEAVY DUTY SPRAY WASHING - SWM Front loading single stage aqua spray washers for aqueous cleaning of small and medium sized components, when a single stage heated cleaning process is enough to fulfill the cleanliness requirements. The spray wash machines provide excellent cleaning results thanks to a smart design used together with high spray pressures and liquid flow rates achieved by the built in pump. The spray system rotates around a fixed load giving a perfect cleaning result together with a very easy loadingand unloading system. As an extra feature, the SWM can be used for heating up engine parts, e.g. covers before welding, heat shrinking etc. Suitable for cleaning of: pistons cylinder heads valve spindles fuel injectors PATENTED TECHNOLOGY FOR MAXIMUM ULTRASONIC EFFICIENCY ULTRASONIC 4600 The Ultrasonic cleaning system offers a solution to the cleaning requirements of both power generation and marine industries. 4 SPINDLES & SEATS Optimize valve seats and spindles Today s diesel engines are exposed to significant loads, and it is therefore important that the valves and valve seats sealing surfaces are carefully rectified to provide a tight seal. At Chris-Marine, our continuous cooperation with companies such as MAN and Wärtsilä results in customized solutions that ensure quality performance for both large and small workshops. PRECISE GRINDING OF VALVES AND SEATS Designed for the grinding of valves and valve seats on high and medium-speed diesel engines, the valve grinding machines are easy to use and features antivibration mountings as well as a self-centering systemt to ensure that both valves and valve seats can be easily set up and maintained to the finest ground tolerances with minimal material removal. The machines can be supplied with multiple angles customized for different engine types. AUTOMATIC VALVE SPINDLE GRINDING - BSP 30 The BSP is an electrically driven machine for grinding of valve spindles on high and medium speed diesel engines. The machine is available in semi- or fully automatic versions and comes delivered with precision settings for required grinding angles and can also be adjusted by the operator.

IN-SITU MACHINING - VSL For in-situ machining of valve seats Up to 6 times faster than traditional grinding machines Delivered with preset angles for absolute accuracy Simple to use Eliminates the risk of mistakes FACILITATE OVERHAUL WORK WITH THE WORKING RIG The working rig comes in 8 configurations, ranging in capacity from 300 kgs all the way up to 2600 kgs so as to be useful for all sizes and shapes of exhaust valve cages and cylinder covers. The WR is safe and efficient with a self locking turning gear and facilitates a multitude of maintenance operations, particularly when operating a valve seat grinding machine. The WR can be turned 360 o and enables you to perform easy and safe overhauls. REMOVE VALVE SEATS WITH THE MPI We recommend the MPI (Multi Purpose Induction heating tool) for easy removal of valve seats. The MPI unit generates heat directly in metal objects. It is very precise and there is no open flame with noxious gasses, soot or heat loss to the surroundings. For use in several different applications

6 CYLINDER LINER MAINTENANCE Restore cylinder liner condition to engine makers specifications The operating conditions of marine propulsion engines frequently result in increased liner wear and seized and broken piston rings, however cylinder liner surface imperfections caused in this environment can be rectified and prevented by regular honing. By using Chris-Marine s specially designed equipment, you can significantly reduce your customers cyliner liner wear and thereby increase the service life of both liners and piston rings. Typically, the customer should be offered honing of their liners during piston ring replacement, and other cases of dissambling the engine. BENEFITS OF LINER MAINTENANCE Major problems of ovality and scuffing at the upper part in the liners can be rectified by regular honing. The honing machine, HON S, generates a criss-cross surface pattern consistent with the engine builders recommendations, thus considerably improving the wearing-in of new piston rings and markedly reducing the lub-oil consumption. CLEVER INVESTMENT When investing in a cylinder liner maintenance machine from Chris-Marine, we will guide you towards the correct honing heads and shafts, the different ceramic stones for coarse and plate honing and the correct gearbox for you to achieve the optimal cross pattern, as well as all other necesessary accessories for the specified engine models. Furthermore, we can offer your engineers training, so they can perform honing according to engine makers specifications.

7 Step-by-Step procedure for cylinder liner maintenance LOOSEN THE BOLTS WITH HPU By using our reliable Hydraulic Power Units (HPU) with hoses and couplings you will loosen the stud bolts fast, efficiently and in a safe way. The HPUs are available in workshop editions up to 3000 bar. CYLINDER LINER MAINTENANCE REMOVE WEAR EDGES WITH VKS For safe and fast removal of wear edges, we recommend the portable wear edge milling machine VKS that shortens piston pulling time and saves piston rings and liner. HONE OR DEGLAZE TO RESTORE THE LINER - HON Use the deglazing and honing machine HON S or X to improve the liner geometry restoring the circular shape and perfect running condition in accordance with the engine makers specification. HONING RIG The honing rig fits all workshops and has been specifically developed for honing cylinder liners out of the engine. It has a robust and compact design and provides the optimal platform for the honing of cylinder liners. For workshop use, we recommend using the automatic stroke and honing rig. CREATE A SUPERIOR SURFACE WITH WGM This machine has been specifically developed to provide cylinder liners with a tribologically superior surface known as wavecut pattern, allowing for better lubrication and reduced attrition. Due to the mounting adapters on top of the machine it is self-centering, highly stable and accurate. VERIFY CORRECT SURFACE PROFILE WITH SRM During the honing operation, we strongly recommend our Surface Roughness Measuring device to measure the liner in order for you to be well aware of the condition during and after the operation. By using the device frequently, you will avoid removing more material than needed, and know when you have achieved the correct surface profile according to the engine manufacturer s specification. Recording can be used for documentation towards your customer in the service report.

8 SEALING SURFACES Eliminate Troublesome water & gas leaks Water and gas leakages can be repaired with the our surface grinding equipment which can restore the sealing surface according to the engine makers specifications. The machines are versatile and flexible for surfaces that require the highest precision. They are portable allowing for cost savings by in-situ grinding, and are easy to use. SEALING SURFACE GRINDING - CPM For grinding of sealing surfaces between cylinder head and cylinder liner and between cylinder liner and engine frame on slow and medium bore diesel engines. The air motor driven CPM machine is ideal for in-situ grinding and milling of cylinder heads, liners and engine blocks. SEALING SURFACE GRINDING - CPL For grinding of sealing surfaces between cylinder head and cylinder liner and between cylinder liner and engine frame on small and medium bore diesel engines. The manually driven CPL machine will bring about great savings from in-situ grinding and milling of cylinder heads, liners and engine blocks. The machine can also be used for grinding of sealing surface between piston crown and piston skirt. SEALING SURFACE MACHINING - PSL For machining of sealing surfaces between cylinder head and cylinder liner as well between cylinder head and engine frame on small bore diesel engines. 9 Injector maintenance with documentation for your customers Overhaul your customers fuel injectors according to engine builders specifications! Due to a long cooperation with all major engine makers, IOP Marine injector testing equipment provides the OEM solution to optimize injector performance. PATENTED SAFE-TEST TECHNOLOGY The IOP Marine Injector SafeTest technology developed for correct testing of slide-valve fuel injectors has evolved into a new generation of digital fuel injector testers designed for easier and more efficient maintenance of 2- and 4-stroke engine fuel injectors. The guiding system ensures a much easier way to verify details critical to the actual injector performance and documents the performance of the overhauled injector. INJECTOR TESTING FUEL INJECTOR TEST UNIT - VPA Touch panel for easy and fast operation Step-by-step test procedure allows testing of all 2- and 4-stroke fuel valves, incl. MAN Diesel slide valves. Pre-set required values to be more operator independent Max. and min. values to determine whether an injector passed or failed the test. Built in printer minimizing the risk of errors by ensuring full documentation Test reports stored in permanent memory or transferred to PC via USB. The information can therefore be used electronically as documentation. FREESTANDING VALVE HOLDER - UVH User-friendly freestanding Universal Valve Holder with 5 operating positions and adapters for fuel injectors in all common 4-stroke injectors. ELECTRONIC INJECTOR TESTING - MPT The MPT is a fuel injector test rig accessory that enables testing and activation of electronic fuel injectors / pilot valves in larger 2- and 4-stroke engines

10 PUMP PERFORMANCE Ensure Optimal Fuel Pump Performance ADVANCED FUEL PUMP TESTING - FPT The Fuel Pump Tester is designed to measure and determine wear condition of fuel pumps on 4-stroke engines and compare it with existing performance data. The computerized test unit is operated from the included PC with an application specifically made to process the data required for testing. For each known fuel pump a recipe is available in the test application in which each combination of bottom/side positions is predefined. Pneumatic test method - does not require a large setup. Accurate, reproducible and well documented determination of pump condition. Automated test sequence for each pump type. No disassembly necessary before testing. No cleaning necessary after testing. Data reports generated automatically, available in MS Excel format for further processing. Pump manufacturer independent. Adapters can be made for most 4-stroke engine fuel-pumps. HIGH QUALITY FUEL PUMP GRINDING - FPG The Chris-Marine FPG-type grinding machine is to be used for grinding of fuel system parts like pump heads, needle housings and fuel valve bodies for high and medium speed diesels engines.
