2 About Your Speaker Tom DeLaura, P.E. Vice President, Eramosa Engineering Tom s work for the Detroit Water & Sewerage Department placed him in sewers right out of university as DWSD constructed innovative monitoring and control facilities for wastewater collection, storm water management, and sewage treatment. Tom saw firsthand how important it is to understand wastewater industry trends, so that automation can best support addressing them. Tom s career has focused on fostering collaborative work environments that influence and comprehend industry best practices, enhance performance, enable wellinformed decision making, and utilize human and automation resources to produce optimum results. His active roles at the local and national levels of WEF and AWWA are prime examples of his dedication to the industry, and give him a true appreciation for the need to keep automation relevant during the many challenges and changes the wastewater industry is facing.
